There are 3 ways.

1. Local play: 2 psp's and 2 copies of Dissidia

2. PSP to PS3 connection online play

3. XLink KAI online play service. Google it; it's complicated.

@swordwielder Download Ad-Hoc Party (It's free) from the PSN store. Then go into Ad-Hoc mode on your PSP while your PS3 has Ad-Hoc Party booted up. Then you can find other players with rooms open for Dissidia.

It was a good fight, but it bothered me that cecil didn't use hit ex-burst. (I was yelling at the pc "USE YOUR DAMN LIMIT BREAK YOU *******")

We don't use EX Mode, EX Burst, or Summons.  We also standardize or equipment for a perfectly fair match. We decided soon after we got the game that we'd play that way. EX bursts simply do far too much damage. EX modes and Summons make the game go by faster. We like long, intense matches, so that explains our decision on those two.

Haha, you're so right. J and I have been playing SSBB for so long that we can no longer catch each other in combos. It's just hit for hit. The only fun we ever have are tournaments against other people. We know our playstyles too well.

That squall is pretty average. Squall way over power in the US version though. It's hard to fight an expert squall user but it's really fun. I use squall too a lot but I don't use HP attacks till I have enough brave to 1Hit KO. And how did he lose with a full Ex core in from of him??!

If you have a PS3, you can wirelessly connect your PSP to it and play online. If you don't, you can use programs like XLink KAI to connect your PSP to your computer and play online with other Xlink KAI users.

The online system is already out. When Dissidia came out in Japan, people instantly started using the online system. They still are. I'm not sure of all of the details, though.

Japanese was the only hurdle for us. It should be very easily playable after a day or so of practice in English. It's different from other fighting games, but it feels natural.

Their the actual names.I have several sources to refer to.For example,Cloud have his blade beam and the HP attack where he does a spinning thing is called Finishing Touch(Not Climhazzard like most thought) Climhazzard is his Brave Attack where he rushed in to stab the enemy and bring the up wards then stab them.Bartz's attacks' names are all mixed up from different character's attack such as Climbarrel. etc. etc.

As I said before,there are Attacks that are named after their Limit Breaks or similar systems.Weapons are named after the FF series characters or items or just their ultimate weapon.There are also several references to the original game of each series.Squall once mentioned "someone's waiting for me" Zidane mentioned a princess,Cloud mentioned a "friend".Firion mentioned the Wild Rose several times etc. no character make direct references to their homeworld experience though.Only hints.

We try to make our videos be even. That's why we don't use EX Mode/Summons. With those, 99% of matches are completely 1-sided, though players of equal skill swap wins. Yes, Cecil is using a spear. I guess it's a nod to Kain. Cecil does switch to a sword in EX mode, as Sephiroth said.

Play to win. You only limit yourself and your strategies when you abide by these made up "honor" rules.

They excluded EX and summons so I assume they are playing rather competitively. Don't say it isn't fun because I think it's even more fun. Then the game extends into defensive and offensive tactics involving technical skill, spacing, mind games, baiting, dodging, etc. What's true skill? Take the hits?

Key to winning:

1 Don't get hit.

2 Punish mistakes.

3 Pressure.

4 ?

Actually, I find that most players that use Zelda pinhole themselves to one character or the other. Cecil users are pretty much forced to use both forms. He's a great character.
