Might be, but racing drains your body like no sport does. You need to be in top condition to even drive a full race, you need great muscle stamina, otherwise you'll get tired and which ofcourse can be deadly, so you can't compare pool and racing at all.

If u define it as "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature" then u could definitely say racing is a sport because you constantly use your muscles and it requires high concentration and endurance or stamina... not too sure which is which
