  • If you want to hear a great vocal version of this then check out Ella Fitzgerald. Really. She has an incredible cover thats here on youtube. For Santana its all about the rhythm. This song was inspired by a Jimi Hendrix show... then he started doing it himself. Pretty neat to hear all the takes on it.

  • Wow this is horrible... mostly the singing.

  • de mexico para el mundo

  • I think Santana is good only in his genre... Don´t mess with real rock! Cream knows about that!!!

  • Carlos you should do an album with Rob Thomas

  • NIggas

  • I like this better than the original.

    ...come at me

  • @Streambeater Me too, this is more groovy than the original. But Cream's version is not bad either.

  • So nice!

  • Great song! Greatguitaristplaying!

  • peace yoo...

  • I hate the Rob Thomas sings

  • @DONDIVA1969 Then why did you choose to listen to this? Sheesh.

  • @javajen19 - Obviously, I didn't know Rob Thomas' vocal would suck so bad.

  • People, grow a pair. He did this song justice and added his own flare.

That's what musicians do with remakes.

  • I want to clean my ears and brain with Cream's version... (sorry)

  • @pionalu2 man, let me tell u, the whole album is nothing compared to watching him do this stuff live. I saw him in Las Vegas back in April and he did this and Back in Black(which I didn't think he would pull off) but he had a major guitargasm on stage and rocked the house with some of the covoers off Guitar Heavan

  • @aeroplane490 I think in this case my feelings were intended more towards Rob Thomas than Santana. I'm pretty sure he's great live. Perhaps the cover as a whole, just didn't wanna finish listening... gah! Thanks for the insight anyway :-)

  • i am dissapoint...

  • 20 people didn't find the sunshine of their love

  • Time to find bobhelbig's comment...

  • What was Carlos thinking when he made this album? If he was trying to show his respect I think he would have done better by just putting out the list. Guess his creativity is fading. Great guitarist, maybe the greatest IMHO but there are certain songs you just can't touch and this is one of them.

  • hot hot hot cover

  • he plays over the catchyness :/

  • when the song is SON, good son, good son...éé...ééé

  • Clapton, Leslie West, Hendrix, and Zakk Wylde all did it better

  • Santana and Rob need to make an album together, pronto.

  • @MrStratguy1

hay! you! give me beck my thought!

This is exactly what i thinking about. ;-)

  • @MrStratguy1 o melhor é o pronto no final HUASUHSAAHUSAHUASUH

  • @TheTerrordome1 n sei se ele fala portugues n hein, pronto tb eh em espanhol

  • All around this is an excellent cover!

  • Joe Lynn Turner's version is 100% awesome too.

  • there's 20 ass holes in the world

  • Not going to say one is better than the other.. But this is also incredible... Different and awesome..

  • Had to hear this again... can't sop

  • I'm sorry but Rob Thomas is a joke compared to Jack Bruce.

  • @mikexlong based on what point of view, rob a joke,

  • @jaguaron007 jack bruce = god. matchbox 20 = suck ass rock.

  • Very few covers are better than the original, but this is an exception to the rule.

  • So ?

Where can I find the tab of this song please ?

  • @TheSoulDisaster have you tried ultimate guitar?

  • @mikerebel Yes I have.

But i've find only Clapton's tab so the original.

=/ .. I've tried Guitar Pro too, but not found.

  • ehh its ok but i like the origanal more

  • Hi guys,

Where can I find this tab !?

    I've sherched but i haven't find it.

    Thank !

  • I'll take Clapton's version over this any day of the week.

  • @Kathmandu1970 who asked you?

  • @jaguaron007 Original is always better man,coz its...well,ORIGINAL :D

  • @ilmanmuutajamuutilma The original of this is way better. However, Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is the clear exception to the rule.

  • @metalliczombie All of Hendrix's covers are an exception to the rule.

  • @metalliczombie check out "she is not there a cover by santana. i believe the original was from the zombies, you will never an stament like this.

  • @StevenUberGraves quoting horatio caine there my friend?

  • That's great that Rob Thomas was able to get time off from working the register at Circle K to record this song

  • i love the bongos in the background

  • the classics live on and thank the youngster from Woodstock to find them and make them his own - Carlos. His first name is all that's needed for those who love guitar music. The master of love and peace guitar has done it once again. Thank you Carlos!

  • Thank you Santana...

  • This song is sick!

  • any way to find some tabs for this? cuz this is making my vagina tingle just listening to it...major orgasm playin guitar to it. but seriously, is there anyway i can find some tabs for this. this is awesome.

  • @2410gh lmao

  • @2410gh Search "Sunshine of your love guitar tab" in google :)

  • @hesteaeble i've already done that, it only comes up with creams original version.

  • @2410gh Ahhh, I thought that was what you meant :) Isn't good enough?

  • @hesteaeble oh, don't get me wrong eric clapton kicks ass, but tabs for this would be amazing haha

  • @2410gh Learn the original, then listen to this song and listen to what Santana adds and subtracts from it.

  • @Shinozoku I can already play the original fine but it's just he plays so fast i can't get all the notes...it's pretty hard lol

  • great great great

  • Santana is a top musician playing with top musicians. This is the result: awesome music.

  • Carlos does Clapton..!

  • I <3 wah pedals!

  • This poor song...totally ruined...and I like Rob Thomas and Santana...sigh

  • @Leigha115 lol, too processed?

  • @H4RM0N1C5 too something...lol

  • Not only are all of your mothers dirty whores, but this is the laziest and most uninspired album I have heard in my life. Please, do not worry about responding to this. I am killing myself upon release of this album. It is over. You have all given in. Dave is too far away to save me now. Goodbye cruel, mediocre world.

  • @vain5150 hahahahahah!

  • This is the most awesome cover I've heard! Santana is such a kickass guitarist!!

  • Holy Shit. I don't know which version I like better. I'll always love Cream's. But Rob Thomas is amazing at singing and Santana is amazing at the guitar. Can't decide.

  • Holy Shit. This is amazing. I can't decide which version I like better. I'll always love the original but this one is SO freaking good too. Rob Thomas is amazing at sing and Santana he's amazing too. To hard to decide.

  • we need to find those 17 people that doesnt like this song and kill them !

  • WOW!!!!! rob thomas and santana are awesome!!!

  • yes not bad tune

  • Orgasm!

  • Awesome stuff!!!! That's what people call PERCUSSIONS!!!

  • Tired of the guitar god ego maniacal playing. I liked him a lot when he played fewer notes, and with style.

  • @bobhelbig: You think he plays too many notes? Who are you, Emperor Joseph II of Austria?

  • @tricesimo

That's not what he's saying at all. He's saying that when Santana plays slower the solos are better. And I have to agree. The reason Smooth is so fucking awesome is because Santana played slowly and with feeling the entire way through, not maniacally fast and randomly.

  • @ashhel5 And I'm saying that his comment did sound a lot like the famous line from "Amadeus"! ;-)

  • Thomas is great, so is Santana, but I'm really tired of the massive ego guitar god thing. I liked him when he played fewer notes and played them with style.

  • cool version with bobby t

  • one word for these 2 together "yeeeeeeeeooooow!!!"

  • like this version

  • excelente version!!!

  • I agree these two distinctive voices are really something. But Santana is like the guitar God who comes down and plays with anyone. So much more soul than Clapton but Clapton has his own style and sound and is a great singer. I wonder what Hendrix would have been like today.

  • @tdal007 if hendrix was still alive the universe would have exploded from the sheer awesomeness

  • Live in Brisbane 24/03 - Carlos you are truely one of the legends.

  • Latin flavored Arse kicking Rock...I'll take mine with CREAM Please.....

  • He played this when he was in Indonesia 2 weeks ago!!!! I got so freakin excited when the song started :'''')

  • Just saw this at the Melbourne Santana concert last night! SO GOOD. :D

  • @TheDancup Same here =D

Their "Live Your Light" tour was heaps better. Chester wasin't there last night D= I was dissapoint.

  • so charlie sultana and bobby thomas have started slaughteing the classics. what's next....strawberry fields?.....stairway to heaven?..... american pie? well done charlie and bobby!

  • Heard this on the radio and loved it! I am buying the CD. Great version Santana and Rob Thomas style.

The original will always be great but we all should have room for other versions as well. This song has great bones but Santana has fleshed them out a bit. Terrific energy.

  • I play in a band that does a LOT of Santana covers, and I have this to say about Carlos: I don't think the guy can play rhythm to save his life. This sucks for the guitar-playing fans too because they think they're supposed to just solo through the entire song. Lots and lots of pointless drums and constant soloing... there's no song there.

  • santana fucked up by getting rid of the organ and replacing it with the synth... worst idea ever!

  • eh its a good cover but i dont like the drums... all is good though.

  • Cream is the best, but hey, this is pretty damn good! :)

  • This is fucking dog poop.

  • hell yeaaah deff craps on cream and claptons versions(:

  • Again a magic Latin touch of Carlos Santana...... Long Live Rock'n Roll and Santana aswell ...... :)))

  • OMFG ..... this cover is amazinggg ... THIS GUITAR AND VOICE IS FROM HELL ....

  • Rob thomas was always one of my favorite singers and Carlos Santana was always one of my favorite guitar players......... I HAD to give this a listen. AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My first thought was how are you gonna sing a song older than you are? And I now say I like it lol. :)

  • i think this is the best effort on the album. love the percussion breaks

  • I liked the original Cream version. But I LOVE this one because it has so much more energy.

  • I'm a huge Cream fan, this cover is pretty good. I think Rob Thomas and Santana should do a whole cd together. In this and Smooth they just sound right together.

  • The song is very nice! Rob's voice is normal as before. Carlos can still handle his that powerful guitar for all the years. But I really don't know much about of the band called Cream. But I do know only one thing about them. The band Cream only did any some music at the 60's for just 2 years. And that is very short.

  • @Barclay1987 dude, they were the first super-group, Eric Clapton was the guitarrist and one of the composers, indeed the band lifetime was short, but accomplished what many would like in a entire carreer

  • @mikerebel Cool!

  • @Barclay1987 cheers :D

  • doesnt beat the original but dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyym man got my vote :) mean bass line

  • wow justin bieber disliked this video 15 times

    KEEP ROCKING SANTANA

  • Love it :)

  • dayamn! this has real GRUNT! i wanna go and rock out to this on a saturday night!!

  • No bad, no good, no the worst....... 6 ½ of 10

  • thumbs up for santana's unbelievable sound!

  • damn cool

  • great version, but i don't like the synth in the main riff..

  • Thomas understands the songs.

  • Not sure if it shits on creams version... it sure shits though.... ooooh the humanity...

  • ohhh i want to see them live !!

  • Fuck. Yes.

  • santana just the best <3

  • i agree took away the psychedelic feel and gave it a santana latin flair....good

  • BETTER THEN CREAMS VERSION

    KEEP ROCKING SANTANA YEH !!!!

  • @SuperRedbull17 aprende ingles we

  • an Aussie you might like...Brett O'Malley - Amazing Life!! Cool song!!

  • I love the mix between Santana's guitar and Rob Thomas's vocals, I always have ever since Smooth, BUT they've taken away that amazing psychedelic feel the original version has and I will never forgive them for that. I know Santana is latin and his songs always go back to those roots, but he could have kept the psychedelic feel (which is the escence of the song) and he did not, at all.

  • @mushizOmbies these are HIS versions of the songs

  • @mushizOmbies thats because its a cover, they're using the song as inspiration to create and express THEMSELVES and not Cream

  • I love the mix between Rob Thomas's vocals and Santana's guitar BUT this song is not the same at all without that psychedelic feel to it.

  • It's odd. Although the song is the same, I don't feel the two can really be compared. I think both the original and this version of the song are amazing. Both just have to be appreciated in different ways.

  • i prefer cream's. this one has lost the psychedelic feel and sounds too studio refined.

  • I found few songs on the album listenable (this is one) but even those won't have me back to listen again.
