  • I grew up right around the corner from where this little girl was found and my friends and I used to have to walk past the building everyday to get to school. It was a scary time for all of us and a time I would NOT forget. I was 7 years old when she was found.

  • @Mackatron Thanks for your comment. I know it must have been a traumatic experience. Even though the building is gone now, it is still there in the minds of those who know about the tragedy -- constantly mocking them ----- If you know of the burial plot, I would like to get it from you. I was not able to locate it when I visited in 2009. - KWH

  • SHE HAS A ROBLOX! THIS COVERS MY REASERCH!

  • I liked the background music. I think the family may know more about what happened and are afraid to come forward.

  • I remember the shirt being shown on TV. I was a small child, I couldn't imagine my mom or dad not wondering where I was. Has there been ANYTHING??????????????

    Haunts me to this day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @erinkwalsh -- 2011 CASE UPDATE - In late 2009, Jane Doe was planned to be exhumed and to be reburied in The Garden of the Innocents at Calvary Cemetery. However, it was found that the burial plot marked by her tombstone contained the remains from a different individual. It is thought that maybe her marker was placed on the wrong grave by mistake. -- At this date , the plans are on hold. -- KWH

  • if no one came to claim that poor baby's body i reckon that she was

    a) an orphan with no other family connections

    b) an abused child whos parents and/or family didnt care or

    c) a foster child who ran awaybut the care home didnt care

lets just pray that one day she will finnally have a name in the hope that some one cares enough to come forward to givethis bab y justice x god bless your soul rip little angel x

  • What a horrible story. I can only pray that someday, justice will be served. Hopefully the poor little girl has found peace in a safer place.

  • Could her DNA, from the blood on the sweater be put into a data base of convicted felines? At least a relative may be found and offered some kind of deal for co-operation. Let's face the truth, her family was definitely involved somehow!

  • @orezorez See the 2 replies I sent to your email -- kwhudson2

  • @orezorez I agree one-hundred percent!!!!

  • @orezorez You couldn't be more right!!

  • With the 28th anniversary of her body being discovered coming up this month, I'm hoping that this year will yield new clues and a solution to her identity -- KWH

  • Will this be the year Jane Doe recieves justice? LADY JUSTICE .. Where Are You ????

  • @kwhudson2 I hope this is the year for justice.

  • It's shocking how heartless people can be.

  • What a sick world we're living in! Im sad.

  • Oh my..

I'm from St. Louis, and I still live in the area.

I'm surprised I've never heard anything about this. Although this was 12 years before I was born. But, even so..

  • @skyler1586 Thanks for watching and your comments ... You will be even more shocked if you look at the medical examiner's photos at the missingchildrenministries

  • @skyler1586 He's right; I went the website and saw the photos...VERY disturbing.

  • @saugagirl83 i saw them .

    this haunts me too .

i have a little sister and will do anything to keep her safe and i mean anything .

  • I agree with the title; this case truly IS the one that haunts. Her body was found two days before I was born (I was born in 1983 on March 2), and I think it is so sad that 27 years later, nobody knows who she is. This was the first time I ever saw actual pictures of the body and now this is even more disturbing to me. I truly hope her identity is found one day.

  • @saugagirl83 - One thing is sure -- The murderer did not kill her Soul. I think her Spirit knows of your indignation at her manner of death. See your email for further details of this case. KWH

  • fucking hell 10 years old to go throught something like that is terrible

  • @moznrick - It is very, very run down. I imagine they would have to get a judge's order to exhume graves near the tombstone. The tombstone MAY have been placed close to the grave months after she was buried. According to the newscast I watched, they are studying the 1983 TV burial newscast looking for some landmarks as well as burial witnesses. (It is on the internet) - KWH

  • Regardless of what happens in this case, I know it will haunt me the rest of my life. Remembering her on this date - KWH

  • There is a special place in hell for whoever did this.

  • Feb. 28, 1983 -- Today marks the 27th year you have been Unknown to us. We have not forgotten about you -- A special prayer has been said in your behalf for your identity to be revealed to us soon. -- Love from Kenneth Hudson

  • What I don't understand is if a child came up missing in st Louis wouldn't the parents report it unless they did it.

  • Even though I created this video, it still haunts me even now when I view it. I am going to make a special effort to remember this PRECIOUS UNKNOWN on February 28 with a special prayer for her identity to become known. Thank you for your comment and concerns. -- KWH

  • This month will mark the 27th year that Jane Doe has had no name. --- Will this be the year that we find her identity? Her very blood is crying out for JUSTICE. Remembering her and thinking about her this month .. KWH

  • TENT GIRL was unknown for 30 years until she was identified in 1998 by Todd Matthews. She is now BARABRA ANN HACKMANN for NOW and for all ETERNITY. This story brings me renewed faith that unknowns like St. Louis Jane Doe and others will be identified. -- KWH (kwhudson2)

  • AT least the Tent Girl's head was still intact.

  • To be honest, the chances of finding out who this girl was is very very slim.

  • Do you think they will ever air on the Show?

  • The headstone without a name or birth date makes me so sad. What a tragic loss. It's a true shame she has never found her name.

  • Even without a face this baby will be remembered. R.I.P little one.

  • mna this is horrible!! KWH.. keep trying i wish you the best of luck. and may this child R.I.P.

  • Maury Travis, the St. Louis serial killer, would have been about 18 in 1983. Could he have been the one? Most of his later victims were killed after 2000. --- Just a thought on my part .... KWH

  • When are you planning to go back to the washington park cemetery? have you found out anymore information yet?

  • I have not heard from the St. Louis Genalogical Society yet, but emailed them again this past weeken requesting the burial plot location. - KWH

  • Do you think that jane doe's grave who moved?

  • According to a story I read, the burial plot is in the Southeast part of the cemetery. That part of the cemetery is still there (not moved because of freeway expansion). - I still haven't heard from the SLGS. -- KWH

  • what will you do if you do not hear from them?

  • There is also a SIG (Special Interest Group) connected to the Genalogical Society that I may try to contact. It is frustating that the people responsib le for maintaining the cemetery won't even reply to emails. - KWH

  • I read that when jane doe's body was found they talked about that on the news for weeks. where is that video?

  • I am not aware of this, but I'll check the St. Louis TV archives online. - KWH

  • I will be sending a letter to America Most Wanted to try to put her case on their show and try to bring justice to jane doe. i would like your help.

  • RIP...so sad

  • We really should act on writing letters to A&E, can you imagine this monster still being out there. This was a terribly gruesome crime, for the person to have done something like this....it wasn't the first time nor the last. This person needs to be brought to justice. God only knows where this person is now.

  • On April 26, I attemped to find her grave, with bitter results. The park is overgrown partially; some markers are in the undergrowth and impossible to reach; some stones are toppled facedown ... over an hour of searching revealed no find. Since it was Sunday, I could get no burial records -- plus the office building has been abandoned and is about to fall in ..... I don't give up easily. I'll try other avenues in the future. SHE NEEDS TO BE REMEMBERED ... KWH

  • kwhudson2:

You mean that the cemetery is abandon also? Does the city of St. Louis even care about this place? I was sent to St. Louis back in 1991 and I did not like it. I had no idea at the time that a girl had been found down there without her head. I first heard about this case from a friend of mine in 1996. I also heard some other scary things about St. Louis. It a place I would not want to live, ever.

  • when do you plan to visit the cemetery again?

  • At the present time, I have not heard from the St. Louis Genealogical Society, who are responsible in part for the cemetery now. There are acres and acres of graves and I need a starting point. Maybe later this summer. -- KWH

  • -----------------------------------------------------

Buried within the Web site for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children lies a page devoted to Jane Doe. Of the roughly 1,400 children profiled, she is the only child without a mug shot or artist's rendering. In its place appears the bloodied yellow sweater found on her body, along with information about skin color, weight and age. (From RFT news) - KWH

  • That's sad, this baby shouldn't be remembered by a sweater that represents the tragic ending of her life. Unfortunately, without her head there are no significant features to even begin reconstructing a face. That's just too sad for words.

  • It 's seem to me that people either to afraid or just to cold blooded to even talk about this case. they talk about a whole lot of others, including the boy in the box. he has not yet been identified either. what do they have against her case anyway?

  • KWH, its great 2 see, that there still is people, who care about others. Keep it up!

    R.I.P from Denmark

  • Kwhudson2:

Do A&E has a story on the St. Louis Jane Doe? If not I will need to know how to get in touch with them and may be write a letter to them and asking them run a story on this case. Please help me. Thank you

  • Out of respect, I think if KW Hudson's subscribers want to do this, we should first ask him. I read about a case in New York where this guy had a twin sister that he vaguely remembered. He started asking the older sister and she finally told him that yes you are a twin. Well, the mother and brother killed the little girl and approx. 20 years later found the little girl in a chest in the mother's apartment, the same apartment they lived in years ago. So there is always hope.

  • We all should write letters to A&E - Cold Case Files and see if they will run the story.

  • I would not mine writing a letter to A&E myself. do you think they would run this story? I think it very important that they do. people really need to know what a lot of black men do to little black girls.

  • Why do you say "what black men do to little black girls"? This has nothing 2 do, with the skin-color!

  • thank you KWHudson, you made me want to find the information about my friend Kim: A Tinley Park man was sentenced to death Thursday and a second man, two months too young for execution, was given life in prison in the rape-murder of a 15-year-old girl. Demetrius Henderson and Curtis Croft, were convicted of the July 12, 1986, rape and murder of a South Shore High School student. Kimberly Boyd was gang-raped, stabbed more than 30 times and run over by a car.

  • It's really sad how common this type of thing is, another childhood friend of mine went missing and was never found. Even to this day, it is still a mystery what happened to him. I've been trying to get his picture and story on a website for the missing so that maybe his family will have some leads and finally put him to rest or give him a Christian burial. RIP... Demetrius "Joe" Golden, Jr. - Chicago....love you boy..

  • Last week a childhood friend of mine passed, while at the funeral I saw people that I hadn't seen in years. I finally found out what happened to another friend of mine. 20 years ago, at 16, she too was murdered and unidentifyable. she layed in the morgue for a while until her mother identified her by the name tattooed on her.."Kim".. RIP Kimberly Boyd, I miss you.

  • Jane Doe was finally buried Dec. 2, 1983, in a pauper's grave on the southern side of Washington Park Cemetery. Four mud-covered gravediggers carried her small, white casket adorned with a single spray of pink, white and yellow flowers. The ceremony lasted five minutes. Months later, a group of schoolchildren raised money to buy Jane Doe a tombstone. - (from the RFT news) --- This is so sad ... no family or friends to care or shed a tear -- KWH

  • This is just too sad for words, May God have and keep her soul. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. I know that the devil is alive and roaming the earth because this is the only way that something like this can happen. This baby didn't deserve to be treated like trash. The person knew that she would be unidentifiable without her head. That's okay, this is not a pardonable sin and we;ll all find out on Judgement Day who did this.

  • Regarding your comment : . One suspect, Samuel Ivery, was suspected of beheading 2 East St. Louis women and was charged and sentenced to death for killing and beheading a woman in Mobile, Alabama. He had been in and out of mental institutions for some time. That really gets my suspicions up. -- If you get a chance, leave a comment on my Find-A-Grave memorial for Jane Doe. There are 2 memorials to her - mine has my name as the sponser.

  • But where is this girl's family? Where are the databases of the missing or was she even reported missing? It's terrible that noone can even put a face on her, without that, she may remain nameless.

  • So sad. It amazes me how people can be so damn cruel to INNOCENT Children. God has a plan for them & God will deal with them. I have faith in that resolutin also.

  • Thank you for your comments .. I left off the most graphic pictures of the crime scene ... they are online at the ministery name on some of the pictures. This slaying haunts me even now, just as it has haunted all of the detectives who worked on the case. Read "The Case That Haunts" online. Again, thanks for your concern -- KWH

  • I saw them and the pictures are very graphic and unbelievable.

  • When I originally saw those crime site photos of Jane Doe, I just absolutely cried. No wonder the detectives talk in hushed tones on Feb. 28 or when they are near the original crime address on Clemens ... KWH

  • People claim not to know her. But i know better. someone out there knows something. It should not even matter what part of the country this murdered child may have come from.

  • That should have never happened. That girl should have enjoyed her teenage years without violence and hatred. I hope they find her killer to be brought to justice.

    May justice be served.

    Angylgyrl

  • Angylgyrl: There are so many deviant people out here in the world and it's truly sad. I wonder did someone make her work as a prostitute and brought her from another state or made her wear the red nail polish to fullfill some sick fantasy? Read the case, it's interesting that some of the trecherous things happned in St. Louis at that time, wonder was it the same person? The case tells about a woman they found with her face carved off....disgusting..

  • When I first read about this case, that was the thing that came to my mind. Was she some sex slave who was used up and murdered and discarded like trash.

  • this case is haunting. thanks so much for putting this up at least she will not be forgotten.

do you have any theories on the case? what is your feeling? it's so odd nobody missed her. do you think she was from out of state?

  • even if she was from out of state someone should have had the heart to come forth to at least identified her. Somebody had to known who this girl was, any woman, man or child.

  • I beleive the problem with this is, every state probably has their own way of processing and handling cases. It should be a Federal Law to process the same and handle evidence the same way. If she was from another state, at least there should be a national database with every essential detail of the victim in order to identify them.

  • Press the "HQ" button to watch in High Quality" - KWH

  • Kwhudson2,

As I just stated it should not matter what part of the country that this murdered child came from but someone out there knows something. People should stop being so heartless and at least come forth let the police dept know who this girl was so she can receive the justice that she deserves and her killers brought to justice.
