  • At work today -I found myself thinking about your comments about your bday - you know the comments you made in your August Favourites 2011. I thought back to this video & thought maybe if you took a look back at where you've come from & see how much you've accomplished in just 13 months!?!?! It's bananas! You are definitely healthier & smaller than in this video & it's thanks to your 29 yr old self that brought you to 30 in such a beautiful way - inside and out!

  • You're an adorable young woman. The most important thing is that your husband loves you the way you are. I like that you're comfortable with the way you look. Men hate it when a woman nitpicks her own appearance. If you don't like the way look? Change it. Don't ask his opinion.

  • power to you girl, and taking control of your body. you're incredibly beautiful and strong for helping to inspire so many people. everyone who watches this will be touched.

    a little tip, try limit carbs to BEFORE 2pm, after that, eat heaps of salads, veges, lean meat etc. you should hop on an excercise bike/do jumping jacks for 15-20 minutes every night and start your days off the same way. i can lose up to 3kg a week if i follow this religiously.

  • That little bit of omnipresent chub on the front of the tummy is pretty much impossible to get rid of (its the stored fat for a healthy pregnancy). Since seeing it that way, I don't mind it as much! :) Also, I love that you're comfortable showing your unhidden self; it's a super positive thing for all us girls who judge themselves too harshley because they think no one else has imperfections. Good luck on your self improvement, I know you can do it!

  • you have inspired me to get my butt up and going, i've been planning on starting to get myself back in shape, before i was big and was in good shape, i could run/jog like 5 miles without stopping but i built myself up to it, i gained 80 pounds in like 6 months on a birth control i was on and it was too late by the time i realized what was causing the weight gain, i was always able to take off a few pounds and stayed around 175lbs but since the 80lbs i've had no big motivation to get it off. thnx

  • Excellent video. I walk my son to and from school every day. That is 10 km a day, 5 days a week. I work from home...

  • ur are my inspration!! i weigh 198 and im 5"4 so if u can do it i can do it!! i used to be very athletic when i was in hs but then i got married and 130 turned to 140 and 140 went to 160 and it just got worse!!! so im gonna try and drink more water and be healtheir an eat a lil less

  • Good luck!!! i think your in the right track to becoming healthier. making the right food choices is key to being healthy. Recommendations: ALWAYS read food labels and only eat the serving suggested. drink fat free milk or, even healthier soy milk, make sure all the breads, cereals and pasta are 100% whole wheat.

  • goodluck. i'm a 22 year old female. i have also been making healthy choice. you know instead of wendys for lunch i go to subway or get a salad. water instead of soda. fruit instead of candy!

  • This video is so brave and inspirational. I love the focus on health as opposed to weight loss. Healthiness does not equal skinniness!

    I'm a size 4-6 and I still struggle with my weight because of the impossible media ideals put out there. I can't wait to see how your healthy changes affect ur life -3

  • You might want to try alittle more than portion control, like instead of having that icecream, snack on something else, if you think about the icecream then think of the reasons why you're trying to get healthy, Happened to me the other day, there's alot of icecream in the freeze but I'm eating sunflower seeds :) find good, healthy snacks you enjoy

  • Oh I've got that crease on my belly button too. I'm about ten pounds lighter than you, but I'm nowhere near as comfortable with my body as to show it on youtube. I plan on losing about ten pounds. I don't think I'd look right skinny so I'm not going to try that. I think the curves suit me. I'd just like to be a little bit tinier.

  • I love this. I love the fact that you are so confident and not afraid of showing your body to thousands of people. I personally am at my heaviest ever and wear a size 17 pant, and I too have a DD chest. I am so self conscience and insecure about myself that I havent even made a makeup video yet!!   • Hey, try Hemp shakes, you can buy them from whole foods or online at Nutiva.com. They're an excellent way to lose weight. It's full of goodness and proteins that your body needs and it's not at all like slimfast. It's not a drink to lose weight but to it's more of a health drink. My sister bought the hemp shake and within 2 weeks she lost about 2 kilos just because it's quite filling and it's so good for you. Check it out! I'll be doing the weightloss / healthier lifestyle plan with you!!!!

  • I got off my diet recently but you've inspired me to get back to it. I know you said you're not concentrating on dieting... that it's more of a life style change.. but I am 5' 8" and weigh 241.5 pounds, so I do have a lot of weight to lose. I topped out at 256, and I lost 20 pounds and then gained back 5.5 pounds. I wish us luck!

  • Don't believe the low-fat , all the fruits, veggies, and whole grain diets pushed on us the last 30 years. We are exercising more and are heavier and less healthy than ever. Try the moderate exercise, higher protein and lower carb lifestyles. You need healthy fats to feel satisfied longer and protein is needed for muscle. I look forward to watching your healthy journey. And can't wait to see you score some new thrift store clothes!!

  • Good for you. I have started cutting down my portions. I eat what I want except not as much as I before and I try to eat more healthy tough. I am also going to start using my treadmill.

    I dont think id even have the guts to get on camera so i find that amazing im glad your happy like ;)

    And i know its not much but me and my boyfriend are giving up smokes from yesterday !!!!

    And i do nothing for exersize and even though i havent got alot of weight on me im so unhealthy!

    I use to be a dancer, now i can hardly walk up stairs without being out of breath. So excersizing every sunday at least!

    Watching your videos always makes me feel really optomistic and good about myself. I've struggled with my weight most of my life (even after loosing 50+ lbs by changing my lifestyles I still have to work hard to keep on track). And I have similar acne scaring as you.

  • :) I have already embarked on this journey at the start of this year. have not actually changed my eating habits much, only subtle gradual changes and because it has been gradual I am quite happy with the way I'm eating now. it feels great and I still get the satiation. don't get me wrong i still love my food :)

    I took part in a triathlon which started my fitness routine, I swim 2ks and play badminton frequently :) good luck :)!! looking forward to your progress vids.

  • If you switch the meat in your meals every so often for vegetarian options, they are more healthy and contain less saturated fat. just a tip. i might join you in this too btw. good luck regardless x

  • I made the same decision a month ago. I started great for two weeks or something. Not much changed looking at my body, but I felt healthier since I was working out every other day. But then I went through a major dip in my relationship I kind of let go and didn't follow through... Well, I will pick up were I left it and follow your lead. Thank you so much for your honesty!

  • You are AWESOME!!! I'm about to start my walking today. You're right don't concentrate on weight lost, being healthy is waaaaaaay more important. I've lost weight over the last three months but I'm still not healthy. Drink LOTS of water, eat fruit, (raw) veggies, and ALL the things you love in moderation. Strenuous exercise is not the way to go, however intentional exercise is. Good luck.

  • I really suggest you try sparkpeople, it's a great tool that have helped me and lots of other people lose weight.

    This site helped me loose 35 pounds, and the community is awesome! :)

  • I have been working out for 19 years and still ware size 4 women's. Your weight really doesn't matter it is just a number. I alternate between hiking and weight training and I recently bought a home gym used from my local craig’s list at a very good price. After paying many years of bally membership this home gym has been one of the best investment of my life. Good luck to you!

    controlling food portions i find is one of the most important things to losing weight in a diet. i ate many small meals (snacks?) in a day instead of big ones.

  • one tip is drink a cup of water half an hour before you eat that way u eat less!!! i have trouble when going out an eating but my trainer told me that eat half of the plate then safe the rest for your next meal of the next day! most important always have veggies with your food! i am so excited to start doing the same hofefully we can get health!!!=] u inspired me to work out more an eat better thanks i think i need to see this video an think its ok to not be skinny but its better to be healthy

  • So happy you're sharing this with us! I'm joining you.....I started my lifestyle change in Feb. when I decided to start exercising. I am now power walking 5 mi. or doing dance aerobics 5x a week. Whether I pwr. walk or do aerobics it's for 1 hr. so I really feel like I've become dedicated to that but...but...but...I still struggle on the eating part and my nutritionist told me it's time to start strength training so it will encourage me to see you.   • good luck and good for you! like you said, it's all portion control..but for a low-calorie snack you should try healthypop kettlecorn (its only a 100 cals) and jello mouse temptations. there are a lot of great workouts in seventeen magazine!

  • I learned from someone that Junior sizes are odd numbers so 13 is a junior size. Since you are an adult you should wear even number clothes that are made for an adult and an adult body even if you are shorter. Just thought you should know
