I think it is more probable that it is demonstrating that humans are more dangerous than any weapon. They are pulling weapons on each other, always more dangerous than the previous, but ends up with humanity itself as the greatest danger to us all.

actually it can be done with simple animsjonprograms like Flash

But this was hand drawn on paper, in addition to the "crayon texture" being hard to do in Flash, you can see the flimmering of the paper, not lying completely flat and therefore creating shadows. So you can also draw the conclusion that lasse photographed his animation instead of scanning it :P
