  • @ffanatic87 Thanks Jake! Yeah balance is always an issue with dumbells.I still feel like i have another 10-15 lbs in me.200 lb'ers should be doable at some point in the future.

  • @BRETZERR Actually the dumbells were suppose to be 170 but when i weighed them they came out to 172.Hopefully i'll put the 180's up,you nver know when u get up to these weights,they get hard to handle.

    Best to you also Randy! Are we going to see you 2011? What's your plans for lifting? Are u just recharging for another run or are you done with the heavy stuff?

    I hope to be back in a few months or so. Right now I am training in track with my oldest daughter trying to get her ready for a few meets coming in Jan, Feb, and Mar. So, I haven't been hitting the weights much at all, which has killed my bench completely. I haven't squated or deadlifted in a month. I feel incredibly weak at the moment...ha, ha...but such is life when you do other things besides lift heavy. I'll be back though...the base has been built.

  • dead stop is diff from pause...starting from the bottom is harder.

  • @rctriplefresh5 I haven't tried those in yrs.I don't know that i will either.If i can remember clearly theose felt really shitty on the shoulders.Have u tried them in the power rack off the bars? Is that what u mean,pushing it off the pins?

  • @HHH396 yes. pablo said uwere strong enough to bench 200s you jsut werent stable...but the onlyway we know if you can press 200s is if you can press 400 from the bottom!

    i havent tried them in a while, but i remember when i did the 325 negative i pressed 325 a few inches lol

  • @rctriplefresh5 200 lb are even harder than a bar would be.If someone can press 200's they are proably capable of 440-450 out of the bottom with a bar.I had 344 lbs out of the bottom with the dumbells and i suspect i capable of 360 lbs with the dumbells(180 lb dumbells) but those weights on a bar would be easy.

  • @HHH396 i know that, but im just saying to pablo that if hes goping by strength to strength and assuming it takes equal strength, you need 400 pounds that way not 400 pounds with ur explosive form that uget a lot of advantage of over controlled.

    besides some people db bench more than they flat!!!!!!!!! at my weakest i was doing 120sx.05 a week before i did 210x3 barbell....that was after doing a personal best of 240x6 months before

  • @pumping18 They should weigh 170 but some plates are slightly over weight.Some of the dumbells in gyms are probably off by several lbs you just don't know it because you don't have the luxury of weighing them at the gym.

    idk if u can do 182s,i think ur good for 1-2 with 177s....but if u get 182s thatd be nuts. ive shrugged 182s never pressed them obviously.

  • @rctriplefresh5 It's pretty much whatever the scale says.With so many plates being added it can very.I thought that the dumbells i made the other day were going to weigh 170 but some of the plates i added must have been slighly over weight.I was actually going for 170's x 2-3 reps but that changed a bit when i weighed them,so ifigured i try for 1or 2 reps.If the the next bdumbells weigh 177 then i will try for 1-2,if they're 180-182 then 1 rep.

  • im actually better at close grip than wide my best is 365x4 im suprised you couldnt do more but then agin you jsut done the dbls oh good work for the dbs

  • i think you WILL totally get to 200's dumbells, it's because you already can bench 440 so you have the strength, all you need is to train the balance of the dumbells, but that's technique, the strength you alreay have!

    Crazy big dumbells, im scared hahaha :D

  • @tlast2O12dude Thanks Pablo! Yeah the dumbells get crazy hard to handle at these weights.If your off just a fraction it can be the difference of 3 reps or no reps.

  • @rctriplefresh5 I can pause 400 any time i want.It just hasn't been a priority to me.I never do pauses but i'm actually strong on them when i do.

  • wow dude 172's are awesome! you would definitely be able to do more if it wasnt for the balance problem. Well done on the close grips too. And i don't think i ever saw you do over 172's with tricep extensions. 7 reps is insane!
