Actually this marked the first year that there was a increase in nudity at Mardi Gras. There weren't any NOPD officers, just National guard and state police. They only arrested people that were doing violence.
Only in New Orleans would you have all those cops on TV, and Bill Elder gets into a brawl and because they are on strike, NO ONE breaks up the fight. And check out Norman Robinson rockin the fro perm, and the fu manchu mustache! Plus you have a guy in a pig mask looking like something out of the Saw series, and on top of all that you have Dutch Morial telling someone off. Comedy gold!
I will always remember Bill and that guttural voice. Classic!
