  • Very nicely done video. What proportion of Aloe / Fruit do you use? How often are you consuming a leaf that size? How long can I store it in the refrigerator? Thanks!

  • @KLip452 We eat aloe about once a week. the proportion depends on the oranges, some are sweet and some are not so sweet, but I would estimate that it is about 50/50. I am not sure on the storage because we don't store it, we have lots growing and have no need to store it. Thanks for the nice comment, we appreciate you.

  • How do I know if I have the right species of Aloe? I found my plant on the side of the rode some months back; I know there is a great multitude of aloe, So how do I know if mine is indeed the edible Aloe Vera which is safe for external use? Also I noticed mine is not spotted like the one in this video and my aloe is light green not dark.

  • What is the Latin name for the Japanese Aloe Vera? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the web. I would love to purchase one.

  • @NkaujPajDawj I do not know, perhaps John Kohler does. We are growing lots of Japanese Aloe and can have some for you around April.

  • I dont think im gonna put a whole leaf... gonna start with a little bit and see if I die (i might be allergic since im pretty much allergic to every plant). I want to use it against acne

  • just began adding this to my smoothies and have had diarhhea each day I used it. Think my body has to get accustomed to it so I'l continue to consume.

  • @cyphead We have found Japanese Aloe Vera to be the very best for eating. That is the only variety that I know of that you can also eat the skin.

  • @rskurow That's because you need to drain off the yellowish liquid stuff first, which contains a laxative. I guess they failed to mention that in the vid.

  • @zekhariah The video clearly shows Minh rinsing off the Aloe Vera and the voice over explains that also. Thanks!

  • @rskurow Okay my bad I didn't watch the whole thing I only assumed because cyphead mentioned it.

  • @cyphead you have to be carefull with the yellow gelly that is near the green skin of the aloe. This gelly is a powerfull laxative and can be dangerous. Be sure you only eat the transparent part!

  • @suriaflow thanks for the advice! I was scraping that jelly portion into my smoothies because I was under the impression that it had some powerful nutrients

  • Love to drink the raw aloe vera juice

  • I wonder if it would be better to use a slow masticating juicer to slow press for higher nutrient value and less damage to the juice.

  • @acts238now That is a possibility. But because the OJ is already liquid and the Aloe is so tender, we only blend it for a few seconds.

  • We often use Japanese Aloe, which is totally edible, skin and all.

  • Interesting video! It's a good idea to use aloe that has been organically grown and don't leave the inner gel 'lying around' once it has been exposed to oxygen as it starts to deteriorate. The most beneficial aloe is aloe barbadensis miller and it is ideal if the plant is mature, say 5 years old or more. The rind can cause problems so don't ingest that part!

  • How old does the plant have to be? Someone told me it needs to be at least 5 years old. Is this true. Thank you

  • @Abby6786 Hi Abby, I don't know the answer to your question, but the aloe plant matures very fast, like in one or two years.

  • I would like to use a organic apple with it. Is that a good thing?

  • @berthamillard Sounds good, let me know how it turns out. Thanks!

  • Thanks for sharing your raw knowledge and gorgeous energy with us!!

    xo

  • Also why wash and waste the gel?

  • @ashtweth It is a matter of personal preference. If you want to consume the slime that covers the gel, that's fine. The slime has great properties and nutrients.

  • What does the raw juice do with the alo, study food combining, how can you digest this and why do you state you can digest this with the orange? food combining is every thing

  • @ashtweth We are all different. I have been totally raw for over 13 years. Food combining is not an issue with me. Besides, orange juice and ALoe go together just fine. Do you have some evidence to the contrary? If so, I would love to see it.

  • @rskurow Thanks for the reply, i guess its based on your trial and a good long run, perhaps there will be a way to make it palatable and peak absorbed, wonder if the orange juice as a whole food interferes with it, i guess it was only selected for the taste, if i can find info on it i will post it , yes its good to keep the gel always and use every thing, most dont even realize a water Mellon has most of the good stuff in the skin and white there too and should juice it

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • 2 questions:

    1. can i take this daily or once in a while- or just go with what my body tells me (while monitoring myself as you said)

    2. i have read that the slimy layer between the green skin and the gel is a long chain polysaccharide (or however you spell it) that is a very potent immuno-modulator, and that it's best to leave it in. in your opinion does rinsing have any affect on it's benefits?

  • @tomasbermea Hi Tomas, as per the dosage? I really don't know what to tell you because I go by my intuition and what works for me may or may not be right for you. As for the "slimy layer" there is plenty of slime left inside, but I suppose you could use the layer you are talking about.

  • @rskurow thanks. the aloe plant i have is darker green and has white spots, the gel is more white and not as clear as a lot of other aloe gel i have seen. is it still safe to take? i mean are there different types of aloe vera that could be bad for you? sorry for the late reply

  • beautiful Kwon Yin in your garden!

  • one of the best home made educational videos that I saw. congratulations

  • thanks it really helped me alot!!!!!

  • I'm eating some with honey but I am also eating the skin. Next time I'll try the blended method. Thank you!

  • It really has the most awful taste...

  • @LocustaVampa Yes, by itself it tastes awful, but that is not how you are supposed to eat it. When you blend it with the orange juice, it will taste great.

  • @rskurowThanks! I feel kind of... high? ^___^ I've had aloe growing everywhere in my home and never thought to consume them. This has revolutionized my diet! Good timing too, as I'm going raw veggie.... with exceptions to boiled eggs and chocolate >:3

  • man i eat that shit raw from the plant and i like the taste

  • @LocustaVampa yup it does

  • Can I make Aloe Vera with other fruit instead of oranges?

  • @Taht0neGuy Sure.

  • @Taht0neGuy of course, use your most favorite fruit!

  • great video ,and i hope you enswer my cuestion;can i drink it before eating or always alone with my breakfast ?

  • @trabronchos We drink it alone and don't eat or drink anything else for at least 20 minutes.

  • @rskurow

Where do you get your aloe vera?

  • I feel sooooooo bad for cutting my aloe plant.......lol but I need its leaves......but how long can I store natural aloe to water?

  • @janeblow80 I can't answer your question about storing Aloe in water because I do not know, we always cut ours and use it fresh. If you only cut the leaves, the plant will grow more.

  • great demo, does the orange juice not raise up your blood sugar too fast, can I use something else. where do I get that knive. thanks reposting ;-)

  • @txladydaria Honestly, I have no concerns about my blood sugar, whatever it is doing, it feels good too me! The knife, called a Cai Bao is available on our website ubraw.com Much love, Ronnie

  • What are the flower/cone structures on your plant? I've had mine for almost 1 yr and it spreads over 2 feet but I have never seen a flower or anything on it besides the leaves.

  • @YouToraTube They send up flowers every year. Yours probably will too, but maybe not the first year or two.

  • woww. how easy is that! =] so is every aloe vera plant this easy to peel????? or it just depends on the plant that you get?

  • @anna63rubio It depends not on the plant, but on the tool.

  • ooo ok! and also i know that there are hundreds of different types of aloe vera plants...are they all safe to eat or in this case drink??? i dont wanna go buy a plant at walmart or something and have it poison me! lol you know??? just want to make sure.

  • How do you store the harvested aloe? as a gel so you can use it again?

  • @tricialimke We do not store it. We use it fresh.

  • this guy looks healthy

  • Looks good

  • 4:46 Now he's just making things sound so dirty -.-

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww this is huge aloe vera my is not that big

  • Comment removed

  • Do you need to take it every day, my aloe plant isnt that big ;)

  • @bluesdog88 Minh and I drink it once a week, maybe twice a week during the summer.

  • @rskurow Thanks for the reply, that sounds manageable

  • Yummy!!!

  • thanks....i've done with pineapple +lemon and was wow...was like a tonic i dont remember havin... ;)

  • This is a great video, I tried it with pineapple juice and it was great. I thought he was Nick Saban at first glance :)

  • Is the green skin of the aloe vera eatable?

  • @schnor88 It depends on the Aloe Vera, some variates are edible and some are not. Japanese Aloe Vera has edible skin.

  • Thanks for the video :) What kind of Aloe Vera plant do you have? The one that is edible? Are their different species? Im new to this whole natural products thing. I need to cure my dandruff

  • @schnor88 its usually poisonous

  • how about the aloe juice sold at some markets? The ones I drink are either from korea or japan, I think.

what are differences between home made and store bought?

  • @idolbird For one thing, there are many varieties of Aloe, I know what I am juicing at home, not sure what the stores are selling. Second, you need to check to see if the store bought has been pasteurized or processed in some other way.

  • @rskurow ah okay! thanks for responding so quick. Another question, Is it better to get your own plant or buy from the market? If it is better to grow your own, then how difficult is it to care for?

    Thank you.

  • It is very sticky....Right?

  • @kaisewroth Parts of the Aloe are sticky, but not the part you eat.

  • it is amazing!!!

  • @SuperRawLove i did clic thumbs down by accident and youtube don't let me reverse...twats ... sorry...

  • im trying to make aloe vera jam.. so i can put it on sandwiches and what not like a PEANUT BUTTER and ALOE JAM sanwich but i don't have a clue how to make it..

  • awesome video, i just wish i had access to some or a place to grow a tree!

  • What kinds of things will happen inside your body when you start to drink aloe vera? I'm very curious.

  • Cleansing, healing & protecting. But, as I said in the video, everyone's reaction will be different. I would suggest doing some research and then trust your intuition.

  • Amazing! Ronnie you are too funny! :-)

  • THANK YOU! i am inspired to grow aloe vera now. :)

@laneybag... the green part is VERY bitter!!!

  • Cheering LOUDLY along with the crowd! : ) Whistle...whistle! : )

  • Great vid guys. I looooove Minh's smile. She has such a gorgeous face.

Who is the statue of in your yard? It's gorgeous and seems to speak to me. xx

  • Why can't you juice it without peeling it ....??

  • Thanks Ronnie & Minh for these wonderful videos!
