  • great job ! i was playing and singing harmony with you.

  • Love the song love your voice. I want to sing this song at the nursing homes I sing at every friday. Thanks for the song. God Bless

  • Thanks for taking the time, Stacy! Wishing all the best for you.

  • What is your set up for recording? What Mic? What program? I can hear reverb, but I'm not sure how that works. You sound great. Thanks, Honor

  • @honorsongs Hi Honor, thanks so much for listening. :) I use a small mixer to achieve the reverb. Mine is an Alesis, which I gave around $40-$50 for at Musician's Friend. It's got a USB port, so it can run directly into my computer. My microphone is a Shure SM58, which is pricey. I bought it for live shows, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend spending that much unless you just really want a Shure microphone. Hope that helps you out a bit. Thanks again!

  • I often come back to listen to you sing this...Makes my heart melt everytime I hear it over and over again. When I start to miss my baby Cousin Latasha Shae Howard and My father Ray Jordon, I find myself coming back to listen to this song. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful voice

  • you have a very beautiful voice. very soleful. keep doing what your doing!

  • she is definitely in a class of her own !

  • Stacy, Still LOVING your songs. Hearing you makes me long for home. Ohio is ok, but I miss Bluefield WV!

  • you have a beautiful voice, love this song, if you have only been playing a guitar for 4 months during this time, you sounded very, very good...

  • You have a very nice natural and pure tone. Great job! Find some others to work with and share your gifts. Only suggestion: a song like this is very repetitious, so find ways to break up the sameness (ex. sing one verse a cappella, humming, different dynamic levels, etc.) Good job -- will look for more of your work!

  • True vocal talent. Vocals are right up there with Rhonda Vincent and Allison Krauss, and you're easier on the eyes than either one of them. Keep up the good work :)

  • you definately have the voice of an angel. I pray that all goes well with your singing and your family :-) god bless

  • You sound great I am going to sing that song for my teacher in class this week so thank you that is great motovation.

  • Your room is getting worse!

  • a true angel GOD BLESS YOU STACY

  • a true angel .only a angel can sing that beautiful

  • Girl you can sing! :) God blessed you with a great voice.

  • Very nice stacy. Do you prefer the Emmylou Harris version or Allison Krauss?

  • bubba, I don't typically find it possible to really pick favorites, especially in music. For me, Emmylou's voice, style, and approach to music is so different from Alison's that it's almost like comparing apples and oranges. Since I'm a fan of them both, I can't say which version I prefer. For some days, only Emmylou's voice would be what I'm needing to hear; for others, only Alison's. In other words, their styles cure different ailments :). I hope that makes sense.

  • This made me smile

  • love all your songs Stacy God Bless You and your family

  • Dang, that cover rocks my lil dress socks off.

  • The only complaint I have is that you don't have a full bluegrass band backing you up but i love your voice. Have you ever done "I will arise and go to Jesus"? I would love to hear you do that one.

  • wow thats real pretty

  • That was awesome, you should sing Father Along

  • SUPERB SONG, SUPERB VOICE! Thanks!

  • U gave me chills miss!!! Great job!!!! Take it you're from WV? Same here, just an old fiddle boy from Hurricane, WV.

  • Thank you so much. Yes, I was born and raised in southern WV :).

  • I was singing this song many times, but I would be realy happy, to sing this with you, realy great, keep singing:)

  • you have deep and serious talent.

  • Good job. Work on timing. Don't attack the guitar. Play it like you love it. Don't fight with it. It will do what you want. Beautiful voice.

  • Beautiful job

  • Stacy,

Excellent version of a Stanley Brother's classic song! Keep it up! You have a resonance quality to your voice which also contains strong emotions in the words. I hope you put a band together, and record many songs.

  • Where are you in the world? I'm a nurse and a guy that has an affinity for music. Non-religous but definatly spiritually touched by this!!!

  • I'm in West Virginia. Thanks for listening!

  • Stacy..wow! you do a fantastic job on this song..one of my favorites..I have enjoyed listening to the other videos too..You have a great future in music I think..God Bless you ..and I wish you all the success in the world.... I can't wait to buy your new cd when it comes out...Way to go Stacy..I haven't made it to Knoxville yet.,but Im still going to.. ..Mandylin..

  • Love it. I was trying to remember the name of this song earlier tonight and more than one line of it. Just stumbled upon this video and wowed once again. I could listen to you sing all day long.

  • Very good , you have a good voice .

  • wow u havea great voice..keep it up

  • fantastic girl! you did great

  • Hi Stacy. I've been in and out of bands since I was 12 (I'm 57 now). I've played and been involved in all kinds of music. Your voice (and song) really moved me, it seems to come to you in a natural way. Please keep up the good work.

  • Very nicely done,i enjoyed the song, very good voice :)

  • Enjoyed this version of Green Pastures. Thanks for doing it:)Peace.

  • Stacy, I seen you made a reply about being in West BY GAWD Virginia! I may be in Ohio, but my heart is in WV, where I was born so many years ago. I go back often, though never enough, and I would enjoy stopping, listening, and maybe even pickin a bit on my mandolin with you and your group if you do not mind. Where bouts in WV are you?

  • Go on with your bad self. Keep singing!!!!

  • Thank you so much :).

  • That is probably the best cover of "Green Pastures" I have ever heard.

  • Thank you!

  • what key are you playing in?

  • lol I really can't remember right off and can't get to my guitar at the moment. I know I play out of the D position, but I can't remember where I capo...I'm thinking maybe E.

  • Stacy you have a BEAUTIFULL Voice

  • Thanks for listening :).

  • I think you sound nice and I hope you are blessed for what you are doing. I know you are at least spreading the good news of Christ and for that you should be proud. You are very tallented and shouldn't worry about anyone who would try to say otherwise. God just wanted us to make a joyful noise to Him and you've done more than that.

  • Nicely done Stacy....I have a quick question if you don't mind. What are you using to record...I hear some mic effects (reverb or chorus maybe-I don't know very much about it)...but how do you do that? Is it in the video camera or an external mic or something you add after? I could use a little of that myself!

  • Thank you very much. I use an inexpensive mixer (Alesis brand) plugged directly into my computer and add a bit of reverb.

  • So is your guitar plugged? And then the vocal mic and guitar through the mixer...then to the computer....and is it a web cam for the video? I'm doing all my stuff with a camcorder. I should probably invest in a little more equipment. Anyhow....you've got a great voice and I wish you the best of luck on the guitar...thanks for the info!!! Kappa

  • No, the guitar isn't plugged in. It's all one channel on the same mic. And yes, most of my videos are made with a webcam.

  • Oh and I wanted to tell you (since this seems like a tough crowd) not to worry about sounding like Alison. We are all influenced by someone...in fact my voice teacher from years ago absolutely made me pick someone to model my voice after. These days I go for a combination of Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss, Suzanne Cox and of course me! If you haven't heard Suzanne Cox....I'll bet you'll like her (look up the Cox Family I think they have a couple songs on youtube). Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you very much. I've certainly been influenced by Alison, no doubt, but as I said, I was being compared to her prior to me being a big fan. I'm thrilled to be compared; that's not the issue. It's accusing me of purposefully trying to sound like her, thus not having my own sound, that got my goat. And yes, I'm very familiar with the Cox Family :). I love Suzanne, as well, and could listen to her singing "Runaway" all day long. Dolly will always be my #1 overall, though :).

  • By the way, if you like those ladies, then you'll probably a few of my favorites, Mindy Smith, Julie Lee, and a group called Crooked Still, as well. Julie wrote a couple tunes on Alison's "Hundred Miles Or More" CD and Mindy co-wrote "If I Didn't Know Any Better." They're both on My Space if you want to check 'em out :).

  • Well, I suppose it's pointless to argue with a man who has yet to make a valid point. You're again accusing me of something that is ill-founded. I never claimed to have all the answers, however, I do know the answer to an accusation that I'm trying to be another Alison Krauss. I would know that answer better than anyone. Anyway, your grammar is poor and my energy is lacking, so thank God you can just choose to move onto someone else's channel whose music you enjoy.

  • Yeah Stacy! Here I have to agree with this fool! I also feel/hope you will make a $ 1.000.000.00! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Again, your only "truth" is that I suck on the guitar. That's obvious. I'd love to be better, but that will only come with time and practice. Your other statement, that I'm trying to be the next Alison Krauss, is not only false, but based completely on the fact that you think I sound like her. I only began even listening to Alison Krauss in the first place because I was often compared to her. It's called mountain soprano. My sound is my sound.

  • Haynes. And another comment you posted that shows your ignorance! Anybody who ever dealt with me knows I don't compliment NOR refrain from giving my opinion, just to spare people's feelings. Ever!!! Many will vouch for the truth of that statement! Stacy for one! ;D

  • Comment removed

  • Listen, I don't *care* who you are, who you know, what you do, whatever. No one is smarting off to you, anyway. And yes, I've only recently began playing the guitar, so I know my weaknesses there. My beef is that you assume that just because you think I sound similar to Alison that I'm *trying* to sound like her. I'm not. I've had people who have worked extensively with Alison even comment that our similarities aren't a put on on my behalf. I'm flattered that someone would think I sound

  • like Alison, but don't assume that because *YOU* think I sound like a certain person that I'm making it a point to do so. That's the furthest thing from my mind when I sing. You have certainly not hurt my feelings by pointing out the obvious with my guitar playing. My point is that you're dead wrong when you accuse me of trying to be another Alison Krauss. Search and search and you'll never see where I've ever had such an ambition.

  • I will also point out the fact that I have commented on my hideous guitar skills long before I had your expert ear do it for me. This isn't about hurt feelings because it simply doesn't hurt my feelings when someone doesn't like my music. Every artist has a certain audience that they appeal to and an audience that they don't. You fall into the latter and that affects me not. I have my likes and dislikes, too, and me disliking someone sure hasn't made an impact on their career.

  • Haynes, So you here ( hear for those of us capable of using spellcheck!) more than I could dream of? How would you know? Clearly you haven't heard me sing yet! If you had and did know everything ( like you accuse others of pretending to) you'd know that I couldn't care less who you know or could call! Trust me, not even Alison Krauss herself could get me on the Opry, I sing and play guitar that badly! LOL! You might want to check who you direct your threats to next time! ;)

  • Comment removed

  • I've never professed nor tried to be another Alison Krauss.

  • Haynes. If you'd listen more carefully to both Stacy and Alison you wouldn't have to make dumb remarks like that! And if you really like music you'd realize it takes time to learn to play guitar! It takes a bit more than 4 months to play like a pro, I guess! DUH!

  • YOU ARE A SOMEBODY TRUST ME!!!!

  • Hey you have a beautiful voice. Its nice to want to hear a song you like and someone can actually sing it AND play it! Im from nc howdy neighbor!

  • Darlin' I think I am in love. You sing so well and are so pretty.

  • Beautiful voice!!! Keep up the good work.

  • THank you so much for listening :).

  • I can't understand why i haven't seen you in a stadium somewhere ? Do you have a bluegrass group ?

  • I sing in a group called South 52 with my dad, sister, and some friends, but we only do local stuff for fun.

  • I don't know who or where you are, But thank you so much for your version of this grest song. You sing like an angel and I'd love to hear some more.

  • Thank you so much :). I'm a nobody from West Virginia haha.

  • Hey Girl, nobody is a nobody. I reckon you're a bit of a star, but won't tell anyone. You've joined some great company in my collection of favorite music. I,m in Australia otherwise I would come and give you a big hug. I'll be listening to ya. By the way, who do you say "luv u" to, at the end of the clip. Ceya, Anton.

  • Ah, you've figured out my secret. I'm huge in Europe. Me and David Hasselhoff lol. If you ever make it to WV, you can make good on that hug. If we run into one another in Europe, though, you can't hug me because I'm a star over there. And that's my little boy I'm talking to at the end :).

  • Praise the Lord, for this song, it's true that we will be together in that green pasture with our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you sis.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed :). Thanks for listening.

  • beautiful

  • One of my most favorite Emmylou songs. You did a beautiful job of this!

  • Thank you so much!

  • Stacy!! you are amazing!! I love love love it!!

  • Hey, girl! :) Thanks so much. It means a lot to me because I know you've got great taste in music ;).

  • Beautiful voice, beautiful message, and a beautiful woman, mm'mmm'mmm

  • Thank you so much :)

  • OH MY GOOD LORD!!!

OH MY.....Amazing voice. I JUST watched Alison Kraus singing this and remarked about how, with her voice, you HAVE to know Angel's ARE real and here with us.

Here, yet again, is another Angel with an Angelic voice. So raw, so powerful, and so amazing. PLEASE sing us more of these wonderful old gospel tunes.

  • Well, I certainly believe in angels, too, although I know I'm far from one haha. Thank you so much for listening and I plan on doing a gospel tune for my next video. I've had a few requests for one and I love them, too, so hopefully I'll be putting one together soon!

  • Wow! Excellent voice, and the song choice is right on. I play mandolin, and guitar and have been quite a while. I've seen a lot of talent, and as soon as I heard the first note, I knew YOU GOT IT!

  • Thank you so much :).

  • Wow I think you did an awesome job on this song. I'm always singing it and have wanted to learn it on guitar.
