It's so hard to put them down, but when my GSD couldn't walk anymore I had to be there (with tears pouring down) when the vet put her down. I felt she was frightened and needed my reassurance as always at the vet.

Wonderful! The one in front looks like a brother to my "Hannibal", a 13 year old German Shepherd who is a real old gentleman. We love him toooo much! He reminds me of some of the animals we knew in Tanganyika, where my parents took me as a small baby, & where I grew up. These dogs are human, in more ways than are apparent. And they have more decency & dignity. Shepherds Rule!

Our baby girl, Cleo, lived a good long 12 years. She was a full black german shepherd/wolf. she was about 2.5 to 3 feet tall and protected me and my family through thick and thin. she was an amazing dog, i hope to own a german shepherd again. They are beautiful dogs!

He will bark to defend his property and will bark if some one comes a bit too close, and he barks when he senses some thing bad is happening he is also very good at aglilty (so far) So if you dont have a german shepherd i recamend that u get one!

I love my German Shepards, they are smart and loyal dogs. I've never had one turn aggressive on me and I have two young girls who coudl rip chunks of fur out of her and she'd only cry. (not that I would let the kids to that) She's a wonderfull protector and smart. And when she needs to be agressive she reads me and knows when she should stand her ground, its great for when unknown ppl come knocking on my door. I hold her off with a hand command and drop it when Im sick of telling them to go.

I have worked with German Shepards in the past, and I have to say, they are truly the smartest Dogs on the planet. very smart and friendly dogs. unlike dumb pitbulls who attack their own owner. Kinda gives you a good example of German smarts VS American Stupidity.

I couldnt stand that they didnt wanna give him more time i was young and sad an didnt go when they put him to sleep. I was so devastated, im sure looking back now he would of liked having me by his side when he died.ill always be beside my loved ones till death from now on no matter how hard! I agree. I lost a Husky named Sambo. He was always there for me ever since I was born and his past was pretty amazing. My mother found him being abused by some men and she saved him. We ended up keeping him. He lived to be 15 years old. We put him down once he was deaf and his eyesight was failing. And the sad thing was that we had JUST gotten him back from him getting out of the yard and getting lost. He had been lost four at least a week in the middle of winter. I was really sad to lose him.

I had a half german shepherd half chow we called him simba very unique mix. He started to get bad hips later in his life and couldnt control his bowels he was strong till the very end. I loved him so much nothing can compare RIP simba. I remember leting you run free you would always come back with battle wounds from the coyotes, such a humble warrior your spirit lives on!

Yea he was my childhood dogg Best friend indeed i would talk with him like a person he was my warrior friend, he was a humble protector of life. I felt his warrior spirit every where he was. He loved life and loved his pack. When he was geting really sick my family decided it would be best to put him to sleep because he's in so much pain, I couldnt bare that and said he should keep living and die naturally but they went ahead with their decision.

We was on holiday and we took our white german shepherd when he was 4 months old (hes now 4 years). anyway we was all sleeping and suddenly my dog was wining and scretching our bedroom doors. we went to saee what was wrong with him and as we opened the door all i could see was ke spoke and sparkign lights - suddenly the t.v blew up and the lodge caught on fire. fortuneltly we all evactuated out the window :) if it wasnt for casper we wouldnt be living now (L)

when i was 3 my dad got a whire german shepard puppy, one that grew up to look like 3:20. {We named her Harley} She was my gardiuan angel, lietrally lol. someone broke into our house{well really my room cuz i used to leave the window open for fresh air} when i was 11. the only reason i woke up is cuz a full grown man was screaming for mercy as Harley was tearing him a new hole, if ya get my drift lol.
