Actually I doubt they would mix up the series but it would be something new. I'd go with the Midbus idea for Mario & Luigi 4, or maybe #5. As for Paper Mario 3DS I think they would be going with a new idea entirely, or putting in Bowser. (Until someone takes over?)

@dekaidoku I know this comment is a lil old, but sadly we won't be seeing him, mallow or any other of the non nintendo characters ever again in a nintendo game. Because square enix (makers of the super mario rpg for snes) took the rights to the characters when they left Nintendo for sony (they were fed up with using cartridges), for some dumb ass reason seeing they would never use the characters again. But Geno has made a cameo on the slot machines in mario & luigi superstar saga.
Well Fawful is never coming back because at the end of RPG 3 his final blow killed himself, maybe there's more shroobs on the dying planet waiting for the perfect time to strike and thaw her out...
hey but i wanna ask everyone abou this... ive never played M&L Superstar Saga but i know Cackletta is dead. and at the end of M&L Bowser's Inside Story didnt Fawful say "Fawful will be now disapearring...WITH YOU!" and then he blew up so he should be dead. And I have M&L Partners in time so after Elder Princess Shroob was defeated, she turned into a Mushroom. when everyone went back home Bowser was unconsious at the castle and ate the mushroom. after defeating bowser Princess Shroob's soul died

it's really possible that there can be a return of the shroobs, since when bowser ate the mushroom containing the princess in mario and luigi partners in time,
bowser could of barfed out the mushroom and froze it, and who says if the all the shroobs died, maybe the shroob princess planed this all to happen, them being frozen, then someone finding them and un-freezing them, for they could live on

When you're looking for a seat and there's none left, go to the very bottom right of the room, and there's a shroob sitting int he audience. When you talk to him, he just says "..."
it cant be a hint, only towards PiT as adults, as mario and luigi say to starlow they fought them as BABIES. they fight as adults in partners in time as well as babies, so it just happens over and over in a cycle of babies-adults-babies-adults and so on.
imagine if in mario and luigi rpg 4 bowser accidentaly realeses all the shroobs in the begging and mario and luigi try to battle them but lose and bowser gets zaped and they take over the mushroom kingdom again that will be kool

If there is going to be another Mario and Luigi rpg it will probably have the shroobs in it. Look at it this way, fawful said he was going to have revenge in the first game, he was hidden in the sewers in the second one, and the third one, he had his revenge. Now with the shroobs, they wanted revenge in the second game, they appeared as a easter egg in the third one, so it would only be fair that the shroobs are in the fourth one.
Well, Baby Bowser did land of the Shroob mothership and didnt appear after that until they defeated younger princess shroob... He could have nabbed some from the mothership.

Um thats because you were probably younger and therefore it seemed harder. Cackletta used to seem like the god of all video game bosses, but when I went back to play it several years later, she was a cake walk.
@lightspeed97 Really? I think Bowser's Inside Story really stepped up the difficulty. More boss fights than the previous games, and many of them in the middle to the end of the game were really tough. I think it seemed short because you were intrigued and played it a lot, so you went through it rather fast. I got it three days ago, and I'm already near the end. Superstar Saga seemed to be the most simplistic one, and didn't take as long as Partners or Inside Story.

@lightspeed97 I will admit, it's pretty short. In fact, the longest thing for me was finally getting all my general moves for all the characters. But it was still a good game and had some humor to it and even had a boss challenge thing. But if there is going to be a new one, it needs more challenging bosses and more puzzles. And they really need to bring down Peach's voice. It's really high pitched, melodramatic, and corny.

You're right! I wored on translating the words the princesses said in M&L PiT and to me it made sense! Also, in the 2nd RPG, the princess turned into a mushroom, Bowser ate it, when he lost she must have still been in there! Without Bowser eating her, she wouldn't be in here!
My guess? Yea, the next game will be the shroobs revenge, then MLRPG5 will be the return of midbus. Think about it, Fawful returned from MLRPG 1, So why couldnn't shroobs return. Plus, they foreshadowed Fawful's return in MLRPG 1 & 2. In one, before you fight him the final time, he mention that he is always working for others and that makes him unhappy, or something like that, I can't remeber exactly what. In 2, he mention how he wishes to seek his revenge on Mario and Luigi.

a group of three Shroobs appears as an optional boss in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. They are found in the cold room in Bowser's Castle which needs to have the password of it. The password of the cold room is □, □, ○, △, △, △.

Maybe the Shroob's DIDNT die. In the events of the Thwomp Caverns there was a showdown between Mario and Baby Mario, Luigi And Baby Luigi VS Bowser and Baby Bowser. After that fight we never heard about Bowser again........ That could mean while Bowser was still in the past, Bowser couldve nabbed some Shroobs! And after Mario, Luigi And The Babies VS Elder Princess Shroob, she may have dissapeared, leaving the Shroob Mushroom as the last trace of her! And Bowser must have found her/ taken her!!!

I wasn't too fond of the 3rd one IMO it was too short and easy. The first one lasted about half a year for me and it was harder and more interesting.

Um thats because you were probably younger and therefore it seemed harder. Cackletta used to seem like the god of all video game bosses, but when I went back to play it several years later, she was a cake walk.

@lightspeed97 Really? I think Bowser's Inside Story really stepped up the difficulty. More boss fights than the previous games, and many of them in the middle to the end of the game were really tough. I think it seemed short because you were intrigued and played it a lot, so you went through it rather fast. I got it three days ago, and I'm already near the end. Superstar Saga seemed to be the most simplistic one, and didn't take as long as Partners or Inside Story.

@lightspeed97 I will admit, it's pretty short. In fact, the longest thing for me was finally getting all my general moves for all the characters. But it was still a good game and had some humor to it and even had a boss challenge thing. But if there is going to be a new one, it needs more challenging bosses and more puzzles. And they really need to bring down Peach's voice. It's really high pitched, melodramatic, and corny.

maybe rpg 4 is mario and luigi: return of the shroobs bowser kidnapped the shroobs and froze them maybe in rpg 4 they thaw out and wreak havoc... and stuff maybe the guys in the past kept the time machine in rpg 2 maybe young prof e gadd helps repair the time machine in rpg 4 maybe fawful (maybe) cooperate with the gang and the babies also join and maybe bowser also! i cant for rpg 4!

Hmm...Bowser ate the purple mushroom in M&L RPG 2 and it was that princess if you remember. But then it blew up and vanish :P. Very weird if she is gonna somehow become alive in next RPG 4 :'D. I want cackletta back in 4 :(.
I know she got ass kicked hard in 1 but there should be something that brings her back...

You're right! I wored on translating the words the princesses said in M&L PiT and to me it made sense! Also, in the 2nd RPG, the princess turned into a mushroom, Bowser ate it, when he lost she must have still been in there! Without Bowser eating her, she wouldn't be in here!

My guess? Yea, the next game will be the shroobs revenge, then MLRPG5 will be the return of midbus. Think about it, Fawful returned from MLRPG 1, So why couldnn't shroobs return. Plus, they foreshadowed Fawful's return in MLRPG 1 & 2. In one, before you fight him the final time, he mention that he is always working for others and that makes him unhappy, or something like that, I can't remeber exactly what. In 2, he mention how he wishes to seek his revenge on Mario and Luigi.
