works great and has a baking soda despencer that puts a little in the baeach time to kill smell. and when its full you close the top of the bag then push it through and bam so smell desposal
I did a clinical rotation on a Pediatrics unit, and the hospital used the Diaper Champ. It worked great - I hate to be graphic, but some of the poor kids on that floor had some pretty rough health issues which resulted in diapers that were more potent than normal diapers. But the Diaper Champ snuffed out all offending smells. Been meaning to get one for our kid.
I always go to my cousins house for thanksgiving and I slept in his little brothers room. And he was 2 and was in diapers. And I smelt something and so I walked to the trash can. In it were 3 full diapers in it. AND NO TOP!!!!!! It smelt terrible
i dont have any kids yet, but i have been in babysitting my nieces and nephews, worked in daycares and preschools and changed some rank diapers that are close to leaking. i have been working at childcare for 5 years and im continuing. if you need me to change some other kids' diapers just call me ;)
We used cloth diapers on our daughter when she was a newborn right up until she was potty trained at 26 months. Now of course we had some disposables with us when we went out. It was'nt really that bad. I remember that the service that we went with was very good and would give us special bags which would not even smell after we sealed them and put them in a container which was included as well. I have to admit it was a bit more expensive but it was worth it.
I'd recommend AGAINST the Diaper Champ. Diapers get easily caught in the flipping tray, causing it to jam often (especially as the diapers get bigger & fuller). The diaper gets pinched sometimes as the device sinks. Then you stick your fist in to force the flipper all the way down to make the diaper drop, which it usually doesn't. So you flip it back over and ACCKK - yesterday's poopy diaper revisited! And what a MESS that is to try and fix. <GAG> Or sometimes they just won't flip at all.
@ DadLabs I have had 2 kids one girl 5 years old now and a boy almost 2 the only thing I have found remotely useful in this particular situation is bag ehm and tag ehm Plastic baggies yup that's right plastic sandwich bags (all the stinky ones) it works not one complaint on taking to garbage out at all try it it really does work and you don't even have to buy the expensive ones neither :-)
The one they show at 2:28 .... that little half sphere thing isn't for pushing down the diaper. It pops out and you can put an air freshener in there. Or, like I did, you can cut off the bottom of an old pair of panty hose and fill it with baking soda, tie off the end, and put that in the little air freshener area. It will absorb some of the odor. Not all, but some.
I am a first time mom. My son is almost two months old, we got a Diaper Genie, and it works really well I think. Changing the bag is another story...but each diaper is individually wrapped up, and the bags are deodorized. I believe this is probably the best thing out there.
I am 20 and have been in diapers all my life. My diaper pail holds a majority of the fumes inside. When it is open it is very obvious. I have never been brave enough to stick my hole face in there to smell it, my dad has. We don't empty it our maid does one of the lovely perks of her job (yea right).
You should try the diaper genie. I have 8 littler sibs and this works pretty well. It is like a trash can with a turner on top. You insert the diaper and turn the turner. It ties a not of sorts between each diaper then it drops the diaper into the main bag holder. That way the poop is separate and you get a clean bag each time. Just remember to turn again after diaper disappears to get your clean bag for next time.
It's amazing how many diapers a baby goes through! The UK has a recycling facility that recycles disposable diapers. It was built by a company called Knowaste. Google them...
A group of parents began a program here in California as well. They cannot afford a Knowaste processor so they currently use a machine that grinds them up and then they compost the remains.
If anyone lives in the So Cal area and wants to contact them, please message me. I will pass along their information...
why dont you try changing a diaper pail with cloth diapers, those hardly stink...we cloth diaper and don't have a problem...hint, when cloth diapering dont use a covered pail...belive me, if you leave it coverless they dry out before they get to stink...could you do something with clother diapering?
I would like to make a request if possible put a video on the diaper genie can be either 1 or diaper genie 2 and I would like to see how best to use because you give more details of the site diapergenie I do not like very much DadLabs
I have changed my nieces' and nephew's diapers... I've changed the kids of my friends.
Quite frankly... if I have a kid in arms, it's just something I offer to do because I figure a new mom needs a break.
But my husband definitely has issues... he did OKAY doing diaper duty with our boys... it totally weirded him out to change our daughter... and forGET about changing other people's kids.
I like my diaper genie. Now they have ones that are automatic and sausage the diapers into a long chain of individually wrapped diapers without your having to hardly touch the diaper pail. Try it out- you might like it!
i'm due in june and added this one pail to my registry(hopefully i get it) that has an air filter with it. and supposedly keeps the trash bag closed when the lid is opened.- The First Years Clean Air Diaper Pail
Hilarious! I double bag diapers with produce bags from the grocery store, toss em in the kitchen garbage, goes out every night. Recycle too! Works great.
*clears throat* Well, we have a Diaper Champ and it does NOT contain the odor. Better than the Cosco version, yes, but it does funk up the entire floor. AND if you don't get the poop completely contained in the diaper package...you have some serious dismantling and cleaning to do. Just sayin...
On another note, try cloth or G-diapers. That way the actual poop goes down the toilet. G-diapers you can flush, but you still have to wash the covers and liners.

You guys crack me up, though. Sorry about the double comment, but it was too long for just one.
