what is the point of using a muzzleloader when you can use a bolt action rifle instead..faster reloading etc if you miss with the muzzleloader you dont have a second chance (im just askin no trollin)
@Milkysb Personal preference, what I do, I hunt bow season, then muzzle loader, then rifle and shotgun, so I follow all three parts of deer season through, makes it where you kinda have a small advantage over the people waiting for the full season to get in.
@Milkysb well its for sportmanship, making things more of a challenge, for example when playing a videogame, sure its a lot simpler to play on "easy" mode but its more challenging to play on "hard" mode. point is that its just for the fun of the challenge.
Has anyone camo'd their black Wolf 2009? Im thinking of painting it or wrapping it with this new camo tape. Works good just dont know if it will hold up in the brush.
@dewan05 well if you knew anything about guns you would know that a musket has a smooth bore. where as a rifle has rifling. This gun has rifling which allows the bullet to spin, making it go faster and farther.
@dewan05 its a muzzleloader dude. Look up CVA muzzleloader 101 and it will step you through all the different types of muzzloader rifles , from the flint lock, cap, and modern inline. The flint and cap are god awful in the rain, Ive shot hundreds and many times they fizzle out. The new inlines live CVA's always pop. So you always get your deer. Their also more accurate than the steel ball 54 caliber. The 50 cal is the best. I downed a deer in one shot from about 65 yards.
@jdn014 your not really suppose to use smokeless powder but i guess it depends what gun you have, my CVA says specificly not to use smokeless powder but once again i guess it depends what gun you have
I don't understand how these pass for primitive weapons. You may as well use a single shot cartridge rifle.

really quiet, my cousin's .50 muzzle loader sounds like a cannon, has virtually no kick at all though, i like it

Do you have to swab the barrel after each shot with sabots?
jakedaredneck 2 years ago
yes, because it leaves plastic residue in the barrel which in turn will make it less accurate and harder to load.
717bearfreak01 2 years ago
yea its better but safer 2 it puts out burning powder if there is for reloading
