Michelle Kwan is THE QUEEN of ice skating. She shows more soul and passion than many skaters. Yu-na Kim is good, but will never be the legend Michelle Kwan is. Michelle has everything a true performer needs. I think Yu-na's performance to "Don't Stop The Music" was off and wasn't as exciting or as upbeat as Johnny Weir's performance to "Poker Face".

Michelle´s strength has always been her artistry, her grace and presence on the ice. To watch her skating even without jumping has always been a special moment because she manages to touch you with her emotions (in fact, I´m beyond word when watching this performance). I love Yu-Na Kim and I think she IS a brilliant skater and an artist and I´m taking absolutely nothing away from her, but when talking about Michelle, she will always be THE queen of ice for me...

people will always point out how michelle never won an olympic gold medal. to me, she transcends a gold medal. think back: how many olympic gold medalists have the recognition and respect that michelle has? very few. they have their one moment and then they leave the sport. but you see remnants of michelle all over skating. she's inspired the next generation in a way that no olympic gold medalist in recent history has. she doesn't need that gold medal...she's so far beyond it. that's how i feel.
