  • huge mindfuck as a kid

  • THIS IS MY ENTIRE CHILDHOOD!! And I have just realised why I am so freakishly insane! Having played this for the first 10 years of my life (and seen the tv show...many times) I've only just realised how random this game was, but I still love it, I always loved this level (the 'What The Heck!' used to scare the dailights out of me) The repeat sequence... HA! I know it by heart (no it doesn't change, or at least, on my megadrive it never did, and it's still the same one here so I'm assuming...)

  • weird game but awesome stage music!!

  • That music makes me remember my childhood, playing this game. This inspired me to learn piano and when I play moonlight sonata I remember this game. Btw I'm 15.

  • I remember the level were u had to juggle the puppies lol

  • Si, aber he nicht el francais hablo, though. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH oh gawd

  • "Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?"

Yes, you shooting my friend did, in fact, break my concentration.

  • That is a horrifying scream when he touches the walls. That one short one.

  • I still don't understand why there are pencils in there.

  • Man, and I thought Intestinal Distress was emotional. But BEETHOVEN in an "inside some creature's digestive tract" level? It makes it seem like there's no hope for poor... whatever it is Jim turned into.

  • @MamaLuigiBarrelRoll

Ok first what Beethoven made great music second he's a blind cave salamander.

  • @Trogdorbad I know, I was kinda making a joke.

  • oOoOoOoOoOld times!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • tender

  • I love everything about this stage!

  • this was shocking when i first played it... shocking and beautiful!

  • is that a MUD PUPPY !?!?

  • well done !

  • i would always want to play in this level just to listing to this song..

  • easily one of the best moments of the 16-bit era.

  • Que racional...

  • This level makes perfect sense.

  • moonlight sonata its perfect for this game.amazing earthworm jim its a fucking amazing hero.not like the craps that today pass in the TV.

  • i love this game, they should make a new one

  • Wow. I just saw the game show scene, and I realized that the music from 6:25 to 6:54 is almost exactly the same as the Candy Mountain Candy Cave song from charlie the unicorn. Never noticed that before.

  • Hey! It's Doc Duodenum's summer house!

  • This is why I love classical music. Thank you.

  • @Verlorenleser You're welcome. :)

  • thanks you a LOT! i played this game when i was a little child and this song always scary me. since 2 hours i was looking for it. what an epic game.

  • Me and my sister loved this game and still do. Games back in the 1990's is the best!

  • this game and the first one put me onto so much musically.... I searched for years before the internet to find out what the hell song this was.... used 2 get zooted and pause the game just 2 listen 2 a 16 bit version of moonlight sonata....

  • HONESTLY WHAT KIND OF DRUGS WERE THAT ON WHEN THEY MADE THIS LEVEL!

  • @fanglyn

    Good ones...

  • What version of the game is this?

  • @Endlessrape Ye olde DOS version.

  • Where else can you see an Earthworm dressed as a salamander, carrying a gun, swimming in an intestinal tract and heading to a gameshow hosted by a one-eyed maniac; all soundtracked to the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata.

Never even happens in Milton Keynes, that.

  • So random and surreal, but in a serene, enjoyable way. It's like a reality outside of reality, a subconscious cry for total, complete emotional and intellectual freedom. This is the true evidence of man's desire for the beauty of randomness, for the seemingly unobtainable dream like equilibrium of mind and spirit. This blend of insane surreality and creative design is near perfection, at least as far as it's humanly possible.

  • @Mykee881211 *slow clap*

  • @Mykee881211 Earthworm Jim is brilliant

  • It's because of this game I love Beethoven, Thanks a lot Jim !

(sorry for my english, I'm french.)

  • this level and "the cave of bad dreams" in rayman 2 scared me when i was little. xD

  • My Brother got the Game for the SNES and it was the first time I heard this composition. I've found this a very scary Level back then.

  • I'm reminded of this every time I walk by the classical music section at work.

  • I love how rediculously creative this is. A salamander with a gun named Jim swimming in some organism living room that is being attacked by sleep...to the tunes of moonlight sonata. You just don't see stuff like this everyday.

  • Greetings and welcome to Ask That Guy With The Glasses.

  • best game music i have heard ever....

some times i press start just to hear this fantastic music......

    so beautiful.

  • What the hell I don't remember this level? O_O

  • ohh god the memories as a kid playing this i remember the music soo well great game

  • Is the best song of Earthworm Jim! I love!

  • Sou fã dessa musica da mó sono

  • Used to watch my step-brother play this all night, we had so much fun with this game. The sound Jim makes when he's groped by the villi is just hilarious xD

  • One of my favorite songs.

  • old memory

  • TV show is riddiculous!

  • It's beautiful...

  • earmworm jim one and two are in a league all their own.

  • I used to LOVE this level because of the song, now over 10 years later I listened to Moonlight sonata and remembered this game and started playing it again :D

  • Why... are there pencils?

Then again why are there pinball bumpers. It's Earthworm Jim.

  • @dollors1 Why arent there pencils that is the question

  • OMG... Jim2 the best game!!!!!!!!!!!!! \o/

  • LOL @ 1:44.

  • This game is "WTF?" defined.

  • SECOND movement of the moonlight sonata

  • The second movement is the allegretto.

  • Hahahahahahaha forget the hard way!! @ 3:18 lol

  • I always remember this level...such and awesome idea...

  • developers MUST HAVE been dropping acid when they came up with this

  • @panjo23 No, Douglas TenNapel is just ridiculously awesome.

  • @panjo23 The creative works of Doug TenNapel, creator of The Neverhood and Catscratch and a whole lot of books.

  • @panjo23 you know the inspiration for the game came when one of the developers was outside watching an earthworm

  • when I first played this game all those years ago, it was the first time I had ever heard moonlight sonata. and since then I've loved playing the piano. yes that's right. Earthworm Jim showed me my love for the Ivories

  • SAme here. I actually learned MS 1st movement because I loved it in EWJ as a kid.

  • not to say that because you did, but that stage on earthworm jim also gave me the taste for classical music.

  • Honestly, me too... :P It's just a great piece.

Villi People: the gateway drug for classical music?

  • the song at the game show is the same as in "charlie the unicorn" when they arrive to candy mountain

  • ahahahah it is XDD

  • Omg...Never noticed it...

  • @qwertyuiop22ful

Never would have thought about that

WHY DID CHARLIE MAKE FUN OF THIS!?

  • moonlight sonata movement 1

  • minute 3:16 that´s what i was talking about :D

  • it´s not funny if you don´t suffer skaep ^^

next time try to fail a little more...lol jk

    thanks a lot

  • Yes it is, Whole Can o' Worms version.

  • I agree

  • BEST.
