  • Mine is solar, more to come.

  • What is the song by the background? Tell me, please! D:

  • very clever, well done guys, very clever.

    Thom in Scotland.

  • i belive that there is more like induction going over there.. guys help me too.. i m trying to make a kind of genereator which can provide me with a power atleast to run 3 LED's and with stuff that can be found at home mostly.. with regards

  • energy generated by 1 horsepower

  • I bought one. They do NOT slow the bike down at all. They also don't generate much light/current. Out of the box it's an amateur assembly. The system that relight sells is much better, simpler, and provides more light for less money.

  • yeah most but not all dynamos touch the tire. others are in hub, this is too different to be lumped together with rotary dynamos. this only flashes leds and only makes just enough to do so. speed is irrelevant. that only effects frequency, i would expect no parts will wear out, i think that this system is marketable.

  • you know its not good riding in the rain?

    especial with this attached...

  • this invention is 50 years old wtf is the big deal

how is it free? its just taking a percentage of the energy you use when pedeling to generate energy

  • How is that free energy? Go review highschool physics.

  • my grand father had a bike that did that as a kid

  • put a magnet on every spoke and put a capacitor

  • a flux capacitor

  • so messy

  • this invention been aroun since aroun the 50's

  • try 4 sets a magnets on the wheel flash more . cannot fined me spell checker sorry lol

  • bucketrobbert- About the spell check. If you spell something wrong, it should be underlined in red. Right click on that word and a list with alternatives will pop up. Left click on the one that looks like the one you want.

  • my mum has one :P

  • wre can i get dynamo do u now..?

  • What would be really cool is if you put the magnets on the bike frame, and the inductor and lights on the wheel.

Flashing bike lights on wheels look awesome as the wheel spins, and you wouldn't have to worry about batteries on the wheels.

  • Hi

I can make this kind of product, but there are some draw-back.

    1. the generator unit is little heav than a magnet, it may make the wheel turn not even.

    2. Each wheel have to have own generator, there must be 2 generators on a bike. Cost will 2 times as now.

    Regards

  • This is still going to make your bike slightly slower, although not as much so as a dynamo. Even though there's no mechanical friction on the wheel there is still an increased resistance to motion because the inductor will produce an electromagnetic field which pushed the magnets back the way they came.

  • @Aerosteon exactly!!! annndd, the extra weight of all the equipment! but it would be a million times more efficient than a standard dynamo!

  • @Aerosteon Normal dynamo's use magnets too, although more intensely as they generate more power. You're right though there is friction here, this is essentially a dynamo extended over a larger part of the frame and producing less power.

  • this is nothing new. Things like these can be bought in Spain. This won't beat a hub dynamo

  • are these good enought o charge mobile phones. DO they generate s much as a dynamo

  • magnets have a half life and discharge their power really quickly abused like this.

for example liquid compasses are better than magnet compasses.

  • is it patented

  • A cheaper way to make this steady is to add a capacitor to store power when its running at a low speed, I guess

  • if you first mak dc from it, that's possible!

  • what if I add a rechargeable battery? would be great

  • yup, it would be exactly like how ur car recharges your battery.

  • yea, or you could just add a capacitor

  • If more magnets are added you will get steady current. I wonder how much current would be produced & could this be used to recharge the batteries on an electric bike

  • More magnets will not produce a steady current. If the wheel contained a solid magnet which ran all of the way around the magnetic field would be constant during a spin, so there would be no flux produced in the inductor, and no electricity. A group of magnets spaced apart, or magnets right next to each other but with their poles in alternating direction is the only way to produce electrical current, but in both of these cases it would not be steady. Steady current requires a regulator circuit.

  • Hi

    You are right.

    iwico

  • hey nice soundtrack

  • is there a way to make the lights steady, and also is there a way to make directionals?

if it could have a steady headlight, stand bye taillight and 4 directionals then it would be perfect.

  • Product was made by "leader" a coil mounted to seatstays and a magnet on the back wheel.

supposedly patented, but can you patent a magnet and a coil?

Theirs was self contained and only rear light.

it is not "free energy" because you still have the magnet friction.

  • nice one..
