it's not even proven if time actually even exists or is just an illusion. the evidence is quite weak.
but i think it's indeed possible to go faster than speed of light, but you won't be going to past but rather everything appears to have slown down to you. and others can't see you except until much later when the speed of light catches up with your movement for them to see you. if you were to punch someone faster than speed of light he'd see the punch come after he's already fell on the floor
@kontraband7 it would have come from an alternative timeline i guess. such questions can be really brainbender, especially when a lot of it all is still unknown so at the moment there is no right answer
You might think I am crazy but I believe the plans for the SR71 Blackbird were sent back in time. I believe time is closely controlled by the beings we will someday become.
@EvilDOOER time travel is possible thnx to einsteins theory of relativaty but what isnt possible is to travel back in time and also see the future beacause of either time paradox or time not showing properly think a bit i cant explain it on a comment
I believe if this was possible, and a time machine was made, when it just officially turns in, life will burn into chaos and life will end. Time machines are a bad idea.
What if you built a time machine, went back in time, and killed your grandparents while they were a small child? They would've never given birth to your parents, and your parents would've never given birth to you. But then, who killed your grandparents? No one. They would've given birth to your parents, your parents would give birth to you, and you would kill your grandparents, and everyone would be frozen in time. It's called a time paradox!
hi folk's i'm back, there.s no paradox at all,the paradox it self solve the mystery it self,,,why did ever think that your future generation to the future generation thingking to stop you doing it...& they call it the gaurdian angel,s ! ! ! this is Mr. Ra 2010 reporting...the LORD be With YOU...
@esmjml Your not recreating the event your just going to a different point in time. Your not going from the present to a later present alot like the past, it is going from one point to another by moving faster than time itself thus reversing the object's that goes back perception of time moving backward then incense undoing the event that had happened. Time Travel is possible. We've done it. It wasn't going into the past it was going to the future, but the concept still stands.
if me and my brother would have a space ship and travel to eachoter with 99% of the lightspeed i go faster then then the speed of light relative to my brother :D would something happen then?
@uut0 No, your respective speeds would still be lower than the speed of light. ^_^
Actually the galaxies move away from each other in speeds faster than light, which might sound weird but it's because they in fact are completely still and are just transported by the expansion of the Universe - this means that galaxies far away enough from each other will be separated in super-light speed, just like the points on an expanding balloon.
@Laurelindo i kno and that is also why we cant see certain start that are past our event horizon :P. and eventually the stars that we can barely see now will also become invisible for us. but in those 3 months ive come up with a better idea to go faster then light. i let space time contract in front of me and expand it behind me. i dont accelarate but the distance covered in the time is HUGE and probably greater then lightspeed. in theory lolz you would need >1.21 gigawatts to do this xP
exactly. i mean if the time travelers choosed this date. but if someone travels back in time that means that in the history the time travel happened before the machine was invented.
and the fact that is fyou travel back u dont change anything just fulfill your role in the current history. because if in for example 2018
u travel back to 1589 and you do something u dont change anything as we know it in 2009, because your time travel already happened and it leads to the history what is today.
sounds pretty stupid to me, if he would manage to send something back in time to himself, the earth wouldn't even be in the same position and that thing would appear somewhere out in space where the earth was at the time when he sent it "back in time", unless there's MAGIC involved, when the thing he puts in the machine magically gets a brain and thinks "OH THE EARTH MOVED 100 KM OVER THERE, SO I'LL TELEPORT MYSELF THERE".
@mikitymike They were explaining why galaxies can move away from each other in speeds that seem to be faster than light - the Universe itself expands like a balloon and pulls all galaxies with it, which means some galaxies are separated in speeds faster than light.
I would go back and redo everything that I didn't know how to do, like avoid my bad marriage.. But then, I wouldn't have my wonderful children, and sadly, I wouldn't even know what I was missing!
I really didn`t want to say that in public ... but i should know. it was from 2 years when that man came to me and said that he was from the future ! but then i killed him because i thought that he was making fool of me!.. but the question is how that fool still living till now? ...what a mystery!
whats weird about time travel is you cannot go into the future because it never happened yet right? well if the people in the past said the same thing and if you went back then that would make it false, which makes no sense,
also how do you return? i mean you can't just put in a time in a computer and it will take you there. because if it is off by one infinithe(?) if a second you will be in a time with you from 1/1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 second ago and you could be stuck in an endless time vortex or something.
also, does time exist? i mean aren't days, hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds all made by man? and how can someone accurately tell time if it is unknown exactly how old the universe is?
woa i never thought of that... i wonder what could be used to measure time constantly across the universe... maybe carbon deterioration or radiation strength in objects???
Last week I built a time machine in my basement. I went back in time and prevented myself from building the time machine. Now there is no time machine in my basement, and there's no evidence there ever was, so I guess it worked.
impossible because as soon your past self saw your future self you would start to remember about that time when your future self visited you when you were building your time machine and that's when that future self began to remember how some time ago HE was stopped by his future self and was stopped from building a time machine and it would go on forever.
Also, after you were not to build a time machine you would have still built it because that would be the only way to be to go back in time time and tell your past self to not build that time machine and that would go on forever.
ALSO, if you have never built a time machine then you could not have posted this comment because you had no knowledge of this event because it never happened. so HAHA
It was very strange though, the other day i found these blue prints to a time machine and thought that after i built it i would go back in time and tell myself not to do it because "something goes horribly wrong" as soon as i thought that my future self came and told not to do that because something went "horribly wrong" as soon as he said that he exploded... i decided not to build the machine after all...
Has anyone seen the "the tenth dimension". If that theory is correct then there would be no paradox, because in all possible outcomes in all universes there should be one where you are not born. Time machines are not possible, unless it's meant within the contex of parallel universes.
If there was only one time and in this universe, and a time machine has been built, time and life would be chaos.

If time travel was possible, you would have to not mess up the time line at all.
For instance going into battle and killing someone who wasnt originally supposed to die could mess up the future.
