  • one of your best in depth review. i loved this movie, but thanks for showing the social commentary aspect of it

  • I didn't notice it before, but there's a whole Ayn Rand spin to this movie I've never noticed before.

  • I loved the review, I loathe the theme song.

  • To be fair, we don't know if he was trying to KILL Syndrome he may have been trying to knock him out of the sky or destroy the jet.

  • MR Incredible Had to Kill Syndrome, Because once Syndrome dropped Jack Jack he yelled out "I will get your child!!!" and that made Mr. Incredible fear for the future of his kid so he threw the car. He was probably even thinking: "The hell you are!"

  • Once again another great review : ) on a movie i own and love...i would love ot if you reviewed the "back to the future" series

  • What's your problem with Bon throwing the car at Syndrome to kill him? First of all, he knows what a huge threat this guy can become. Second - he promised to come back for his son. I would have fucking tossed the car at him too.

  • Interestingly, the Incredibles is listed in the top 10 best conservative themed movies ever by this movie website I was watching. It makes sense, it's about individual merit and rejection of some aspects political correctness, which idealizes equality over celebrating and noticing the differences between us. You can't be special, because it makes everyone else feel bad.

And I must say, that is amazing for what most people would call a kid's movie. But then again, this is Pixar.

  • Wouldn't Jack-Jack be the ''Human Torch'' because he lights on fire.

  • Wow, this review was spot on. Pretty much perfect.

  • Also...think about this one people who didn't think that Bob didn't have a good reason; Syndrome said, out loud to Mr. Incredible, that he will come back for Jack-Jack if he got away. So, to protect his youngest child from a nutball, he threw the car. I don't think the killing him part was intentional, but I think all he was doing was saying 'Touch my son again and I'll break you like a twig'. by throwing a car at the plane.

  • Fun Fact: The directer NEVER read Watchmen. It's just a councidence that the two have a similar story.

  • Hey, this reminds me:

Can you do a Superhero Rewind on "Up Up and Away?"

That movie is even worse than Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie!

  • @dstebbin THIS. I totally loved that movie as a kid xD would love to see the review of it.

  • ive watched ur blade 1 and 2 reviews and this one, and i proudly say that i have subscribed, ur very indepth with ur reviews, and have u done the league of extraordinary gentlemen? Would love if u reviewed that movie, i also always wanted to know if that was just a cool movie wit a cool idea or if it was based off a comic or a old T.V show etc.

  • @lylatfox4 Thanks very much!

I will do "League" eventually-- and yes, it's based on a comic book.

  • 06:54 Was that a picture of Neil Gaiman?

  • @thesyfychannel15 Yep.

  • Iv talked to confused Matthew he missed some of the deeper messages in this film it's dark deep and buetuful the way my favorite hand drawn Disney film hunch back of notre dame is which deals with racism predudice fanatical religion and a deep moral question about looks vs a persons heart. As a kid I didn't catch any of that just like I didn't catch many incredibles themes looking back now as a 19 year old I relize the whole story and love them even more then I already did.

  • @Bwkjam confused matthew hates the lion king, he's EXTREMELY CONFUSED. no credibility in my eyes at all

  • Thank you SO much. I was in gifted and LEARNED how to dumb my learning down so well that by the time I graduated high school I was D student. I really related to this movie. It took me years to overcome the perception that our society pushes on the best.

  • @comichound I imagine the film had that impact on lots of people-- thanks for your perspective on it. There's a lot here that gets overlooked sometimes because of just how darn fun this film is.

  • @Geekvolution Great comments on Pixars originality and it`s competetors in it`s release year.

  • @Geekvolution review "Kick-Ass"!!!

  • Ok i think that you all should really read all of your comments. You have gotten some GREAT ideas for topics and i assume that you haven't even replied to the users! Just read their ideas and tell them if you will use it or not! You are keeping those people in the dark! Don't ask for ideas if you wont take them!

  • I think syndrome was way too dangerous to live due to his insanity and his talent of building gadgets. He could of built stronger ones so I believe he should have died.

  • this movie showed me that even though some say my ideas are to out there and stupid I shouldnt stop thinking about storys and writting them

  • I don't know if Syndrome absolutely needed to die, but he couldn't really be allowed to live, either. He was a villain. Dash couldn't do anything, being ground-based, Violet may not have been able to get a force field around him (or keep it up for long) and Helen was dealing with Jack-Jack. If Syndrome were allowed to escape, it is almost inarguable that he would have come back, stronger, with more weaponry, and threatened more lives. Police and such wouldn't have arrived before he escaped.

  • They made a Cars 2 but not an Incredibles 2?

    God is dead

  • That line @ 6:16 somebody clapped at that in the theaters when I watched it.

  • your really smart captin logan

  • Maybe syndrome didnt die, maybe its like a darth vader thing, to wrte now hes a cyborg

  • i love this movie

  • It would be cool if you guys made a video series reviewing Pixar movies, and maybe doing a video about Pixar vs. Dreamworks. Just a thought.

Also will you ever do a Jingle All the Way movie review? Although it’s a Christmas movie, the main story is about toys and commercialism, and has many superhero elements to the film - which all completely suck. I think it would be interesting to see you pan this awful movie, lol

  • @123rockfan I would *love* to review the Pixar films, and Pixar Vs Dreamworks is a great GNN or podcast possiblity. Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully I'll find a place to do in-depth reviews of non-superhero stuff eventually. Right now I'm just really focused on Rewind.

And LOL on Jingle All the Way. I've reviewed some pretty awful movies, but man, I dunno if I can make myself sit through that again!

  • @Geekvolution

"Who told you you could eat my cookies? Put that cookie down!"

  • @deadmanfilms95 I honestly think Pixar would not stupid enough to do a villain cliche, with the exception of parodying it.

  • since they dont show him die, it could lead to the cliche of the villian coming back even though we thought he was dead because they like to make homages that happened in old super hero type stuff

  • Good point about the car-throw at the end -- and yet, I liked the fact that Bob sacrifices the fancy car he had bought with the money from working for Syndrome. And it is in the middle of Syndrome's totally credible declaration that he will come back and find a way to do further harm. "This isn't the end!" etc. Mr. Incredible's car-throw was an act of instinct -- and yet, trusting instinct (as superheroes) is what both he and Mrs. teach their kids to do.

  • I know this guy isnt a comic book hero, but can you guys review (if you already havent) "Hancock" ? I i thought the concept of this guy and his as far as we know origin story is quite intresting

  • @KalelClarkKent82 It's a good bet I'll get to Hancock before summer.

    -Captain Logan

  • @Geekvolution awesome! thanks man. love the reviews and pods

  • @Geekvolution Just wondering could u post a list of the next films 2 ur going 2 review? or u wanna it 2 b a surprise.i always wanted 2 know that

    ps:ur reviews are genius man

  • @a31094 I do like to keep it a surprise. And while I have the reviews planned out in advance, sometimes the schedule gets changed around for various reasons, so I don't like to promise one thing and then do another. That's why I reveal them just a week in advance. Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying the reviews!

  • The Incredibles still remains one of Pixar's finest films and if you consider how good the rest of their films are, that's quite a compliment. It's just superb. I wouldn't be surprised to see Megamind get a review in the future.

  • The reason why he threw the car is a parental need for him to get his child back. If your kid was taken, wouldn't you something irrational too? For me, the best part of this movie is when Syndrome said to Mr. Incredible "You're weak, and i've outgrown you." Awesome. I knew it will be a 4.

  • This movie actually made more than the first FF movie. They actually had to do some re-shoots just so they can compete with this Movie. I personally think that This movie is one of the greatest superhero movie ever (Even if it's animation). I'm interested to know what your views are with Punisher warzone and Ghost rider. Thank you Cap.

  • Hey Cap, just wanna tell you there's this hilarious movie called Blankman. It's about an inventor who discovers how to make bulletproof clothes and becomes a superhero known as Blankman, with his brother coming along, being given the unfortunate name The Other Guy XP It's pretty funny and really cool, not based off any comic (to my knowledge, I could be wrong). Just wondering, have you ever heard of it? And will you do a review on it (since it's technically a superhero movie)?

  • That review was totally wicked!!

  • @Geekvolution - Are you going to do a review of "Megamind"?

  • It really is surprising how many parallels exist between this and Watchmen. Heck, it even has a giant squid-like monster destroying a city. For some fans, that means Pixar: 1 Snyder: 0.

  • Just wondering, are you ever going to review the original captain america movie that came out in the early 90s, I am looking forward to your review of superman returns though :)

  • @nightwishfan1991 Yep. Planning on doing it closer to the release of the new Captain America film.

    -Captain Logan

  • @Geekvolution I know this guy isnt a comick book hero, but can you guys review (if you already havent) "Hancock" ? I i thought the concept of this guy and his as far as we know origin story is quite intresting

  • @Geekvolution genius u sir are

  • Great review, Cap. I agree, Syndrome is one of the best villains in the genre. What a concept, fanboy as villain. :)

  • Even though I love The Incredibles it would have been a better ending if Bob had desperately tried to save Syndrome at the last second.

  • @chickachickaboomguy I think that was only live action

  • Just watched this review again, since I had to cut it short initially... Have to say, great commentary at the end there. I think you're spot on Cap with the stakes involved and such. I have to pop this in again, because I forgot about the Syndrome/car thing. But yea, awesome. =D ~noirgwio

  • if it's one of the superhero movies ever made why wasn't it on the best superhero films of the decade video

  • Good job, CAP. Great review... Sometimes I think you are better and more thorough in your reviews than these clowns that get their reviews published in the media. Way to go, sir!

  • @chickachickaboomguy he will only review it after the film has been out for at least two years

  • Comment removed

  • Syndrome is frustrated because he feels inferior. He is the embodiment of the society that penalized special people.

  • Comment removed

  • hey cap after superman returns can you do batman under the red hood

  • Here's what I don't get. You say parents got upset about the references of death and violence in the Incredibles. But in the Bruce Timm, DC animated series death, or the blantant threat of death was always present.

  • I know what you're saying about the ending. I also thought it was a bit over the top at the time. I just chalked it up as mr. incredible always overdoing the situation due to his personality type. His actions explain what I mean (the way he trains, his rash split-second choices that he makes when he fights crime, etc....). Damn, another great review tho. I'm surprised & kind of pleased that they didn't rush out a sequel to such a movie (A CG-animated superhero pixar flick, C'MON!).

  • Excellent review as always. I really love this film, it is a perfect representation of Pixar's great storytelling. And Cap, your voice sounds a little off this week??

  • Great Reviw also so something I want to mention is I love Syndrome line when Mr. Incredible says sorry to him "oh know you respect me, because know I'm a threat." I mean Spidery never said sorry to venom and meant it. Superman Returns now that I'm very interesting in finding out your opinion on.

  • I love this movie... I'm still a little reserved when it comes to Pixar movies, being a Disney (animated-by-hand) fan since childhood, but I was instantly drawn (no pun intended) to this flick. I'm curious about 'Mega-Mind' as well - I'm not sure if that's a Pixar one though. ~noirgwio

  • When are you going to review The Punisher (2004)?

  • @JudgeMagisterDelita Within the next couple months.

    -Captain Logan

  • @Geekvolution Thanks I can't wait! You are excellent at reviewing, and should probably consider doing this professionally.

  • believe it or not like this movie that much but i will watch it again

  • The Incredibles puts The Fantastic Four movies to shame.

  • @pypeworld that's not saying that much

  • @pypeworld

Agreed. It's hilarious that a spoof of Fantastic 4 takes the material way more seriously than the actual adaptation of the comic.

  • i think the two factions would do well together. especially if they had to both take on doctor doom ans syndrome if they both teamed up :p

  • You've made me appreciate this film on a level that I hadn't before. I think I'm going to go watch it again now. Looking forward to the Superman Returns review.

  • i think mr. incredible just meant to disable the plane with the car...but that is a kind of weak excuse

  • Very good review!

  • Seriously, I love this movie, but never, EVER knew it was actually layered and more awesome than it actually is.

And because of these reviews, whenever I make a writing idea i think "What would Captain Logan say...?" lol

  • great review i love this movie but i never realized this

  • great review i love this movie but i never realized this 0 - 0

  • great review

  • I'd been looking forward to this one. This is my favorite Pixar movie and also one of my favorite superhero movies. The atmosphere is incredible, and I love that it is both an affectionate parody as well as a thoughtful deconstruction of the genre. Awesome SR as always.

  • YOU FIXED THE STARS and great review I love Pixar movies glad you did this

  • good video

  • thanks for reviewing a film that captures my 2 loves of pixar and superheroes and reviewing it well.

  • I 100% agree on The Incredibles. Amazing film. Can't wait for your thoughts on Superman Returns!
