  • @sirladette

    Stalin:LAUNCH ALL THE NUKES!!!!

  • I always disable cultural victory so I have never seen this before.

  • Me: HELL YES! JUST THREE MORE TURNS, AND I WIN SPACE VICTORY!!!

*Ramses II Has Achieved Cultural Victory*

    Me: ...

    True Story.

  • And then more war happens...

  • The song doesn't fit the video, it should be a little happier with cheering or something

  • Hmm... looks like the Colossus of Rhodes and the Statue of Liberty had a baby. Shame it was that ugly.

  • Thats a fabulous city and all, but it really doesnt mean anything when Germany rolls in with all their tanks and nukes and takes it over.

  • I can just see Stalin's reaction to a rival winning this way.

Stalin: My tanks will soon roll through your pathetic cities Ghandi, any last words.

    Ghandi: You lose.

    *Ghandi Has Achieved Cultural Victory*

    Stailin: WTF?!

  • @SirLadette

You have obviously never felt the wrath of warmonger Ghandi.

  • wow,i got have legendary culture in 3 towns,i was used to make all the wonders in one town, and that didn allowed me to have this victory.

  • do you have a video of a time victory? i was just wondering what it looks like at the end - i was never bothered to complete this particular victory myself lol)

  • @peterchuvalov

There is no video for a time victory, nor is there one for the diplomatic victory either.

  • 20 people got their last city taken by culture.Too bad.

  • Ah I remember when I won this as the English on the very hardest difficulty...

    So hard...but so satisfying!

  • The music sounds way to oldschool, like 98' o_O

  • huh,i did all the wonders in civilisation 1 (snes) and i dont even get a ending, but this one is epic.

  • Civ 4 is so much better then Civ 5.

  • @MrShadowGoat not

  • @NesalaxD IT IS (Saying stuff in capslock means it's the truth so u lost this one, sorry for being so wrong on this one)

  • @MrShadowGoat You made me laugh, I LIKE YOU

  • better than civ v

  • Well thats a sight to see the coliseum and the Great Pyramids in one city ahhh i love Civilization games

  • I could imagine a tour bus ride in this city...

"Okay, we have the great light house to our left...and to our right we have the god damn pyramids."

  • quiero jugar ese juego pero me dicen que necesita 512 MB de RAM y mi pc tiene 504 me funcionara ?

  • on my 1st try i put it on king. napoleon spawned next to my england and declared war when i didnt give free gems. and guess what? since it was modern era i had a defensive pact with ghandi and he had like 500 cities. and raped napoleon for me. not a unit injured for me. shows ghandi is epicz!

  • @IceCoolG4mes C funcionara pero va a estar muy lento. Es posible que los videos no van a funcionar pero creo que puedas jugar

  • Culture: U haz it

    lol

  • I only got this game a few days ago but i still dont know how to win domination because the roosevelt dominated me so i want vengance! plz reply! :)

  • @jackytips focus on buildings that give you the ability to research techs and then focus yourself on gunpowder and then rifling. This should give you a very strong advantage if you are invaded. I was just playing a game as the Americans and got invaded by the second strongest faction (I was the strongest). Totally caught off guard b/c we were on good terms. I was able to hold the massive assault at bay and counter attack but only because of rifling. Good luck.

  • @abis0077 Thank you, Go buy yourself some cookies on me :D

  • Is it possible to capure a city with culture if its a capital or their last city?

  • Its pretty hard to take a city by culture if its a capital.

  • Play for days and get 19 seconds video. Whopee. But its still better than old dos era when you got a few lines of text for saving humanity.

  • I've just won this way! I played China in Rhys and Fall and I was running away with all the wonders!

  • peace!

  • How do you achieve this victory? I usually win a domination victory because of how much I love to expand. I've reached legendary culture before but had already reached the Modern day and won the game.

  • @Thekeyisme63 you need a good leader (philosophical, creative and industrious leaders r good), at least 3 cities with cathedrals and gp-farms for artists. There are some awesome wonders too, and you can adjust the cultural sliders and sacrifice tech for more culture.

  • @Herbstgespenst Just achieved it two days prior. XD

I don't even know how I did it, I just kept expanding all six religions (Which I somehow was able to found all of them. ?_?) Expanding some lands, about to move one of my Great prophets, and bam, "Asoka has won a Cultural victory". I'm so happy now, knowing that I beat it on every victory condition. Now that I know how to achieve it (Some of it thanks to you) I can win much more of them. Thank you BTW. :)

  • to anyone who would bother to read this and answer - how do you beat the CPU's beyond monarch?? i win 3/5 games at this level, but i really need to put all i've got into it, and i can't touch them beyond this... they simply have too many things going for them... anyone, how do you do ti??

  • @crwnv WAR always keep pumping out the soldiers thats how i won

  • @Jamesminson actually, i just tried something like that, a few days ago, seems to work ok... gotta try it out for real... though they really are though after monarch, the bastards are full of bonuses!!

  • I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO USE PYTHON FOR CIV 4 PROGRAMMING.I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FOR MONTHS.LEARN AT LEAST.I DONT KNOW ANY PROGRAMMIN LANGUAGE BUT I AM WILLING TO LEARN.CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

  • Hm, i set conquer, domination and culture as victorys conditions.

I think i just need one of the three victorys, but when i had 3 cities with 50.000 + culture, i didn't get the video 0o

Now in year 2200 with 4 enemies left and everybody having defensive alliances and tons of units it 'll be crazy to conquer whole africa ^^

  • is this just promotion or can you actually get your cities to look like that?

  • Am I the only one who plays as the Roman Empire? ._.

  • "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

    Sums up this victory perfectly

  • haha is it just me or are the japanese in this game freaking impossible to be friendly with? any time I play a game and they are in it, it's "I am uber ethnocentric, I don't want to trade with you, or talk to you, and I hated you from the moment I set eyes on you." lol these freaking civs on this game have personalities! isabella is a bible thumping bitch, shaka and a few others are war mongerers, and the japanese are mean. :P

  • @peterfanatic07 Montezuma and Queen Isabella are the same way. Gosh, what jerks!!

  • For me, Cultural Victory took the least effort to get. I play on Warlord difficulty. Cultural victory is insanely easy if you use Ghandi from the indians(but I was also lucky enough to find stone and marble). The ending wasn't that satisfying compared to domination and conquest victory(domination I got on an easy difficulty, conquest I got on the barbarians scenario)

  • Seriously, in the Earth Scenario...the worst place to build a civilization is in Africa...shitty land that barely lets you produce coin...With so many Hills with 2 Hammers I had to put farms all around my cities to get them working...better than using those mills -.- lol.. its hard to choose where to put a city... Being the Malinese is worse -.-

  • @defend4ever Its impossible to get a domination victory with malinese on that map. theres no iron to get an early military boost with swordsmen and barely any other resources to fund your war machine.

  • is it possible to take over a city with culture? 'cause it says so in the civilopedia, but I haven't managed to do that.

  • @WalleWildberrie

Yes. But it will take a lot of culture on one side. Eventually the city will be so heavily influenced by another culture that the citizens revolt. If the riot wasn't put down in time then the city will deflect.

It takes lots of time and money. Works best if you use multiply Great Artist on the nearest city to your target.

  • @chankljp yeah but aren't you supposed to use great artists and join another civilizations city with it? 'cause I've tried, but the option "join city" doesn't appear in foreign cities.

  • @WalleWildberrie

It doesn't work like that. You great artist can either:

    1. Join your own city and become a specialist (creates extra wealth and culture each turn for the rest of the game)

    2. Create a great art work in one of your cities (a large one time culture bonus or put down a riot)

If the great art work was created closed to an enemy city and the cultural rating there isn't strong enough, eventually the enemy city will riot.

  • @chankljp how can i put down a riot?

  • @Escapulario100 Use a great Artist. But it is best not to have them. To stop this put some extra troops in the city (short term), and build things that make the people happy (long term).

  • @chankljp Ah great who took all the wonders of the world again LOL again

  • @chankljp that happened to me, only in civ 3, not 4

  • @chankljp haha i tried that i was napoleon and i wanted to try what you said (*cough cough* i kinda used the world builder and got like 10 great artist hehe) and i used artwork 10 times and i completely surrounded some egyption city lol. It said they had a french revoulution and eventually they joined me. It was aweseome

  • @WalleWildberrie Yes it is possible. When playing for French in civ 4 scenario of Europe 1000AD, I managed to culturally overtake a German city of Bremen and the English capital London.

  • @WalleWildberrie I did it once by accident :)

The Romans were right next to me and my borders had surrounded on of their cites and it switched to me HOORAY

  • This was honestly my first vic type. I just made sure everybody liked me and built wonders like crazy. I wasn't playing on a hard difficulty though.

  • @ZeroTheUltimate0

Me too. Unlike Alpha Centauri, in this game it is possible for you to win without having to fight a single war. My play style is more of a pacifist and focus more on building the economy and culture instead of a strong military.

  • @chankljp

Its doable. I remember winning games with almost no military and not going to war once. You just have to make sure every civilization hates one civilization more than you. Getting a good score that way is unlikely though. One of the most important part of the early game is making sure you adopt the right religion, you don't want to be the only one with judaism if every1 has buddhism.

  • cultural victory... woohoo!! I just love it when a perfectly good game gets cut short for nothing.

  • Just turn off the cultural victory then. That's what I do with the space race.

  • @ZeroTheUltimate0 yup that's the best thing to do. I only play with domination victory.

  • @ScaredPiglet

By the time you get this victory, if you really wanted to kill off all other civilizations you usually have already done so.

The biggest problem is the Space Race victory.

  • @chankljp I won Space race before the other civs got to modern... =/

  • @chankljp space race problem? I achieved one victory so far in Civ IV: just one: Space victory.

  • @chankljp Why is space race victory the hardest one? I got it once in noble difficulity. I have also won domination and conquest victory, conquest victory is a little bit tougher. Now im gunna try out winning cultural victory in noble difficulity i believe. But anyway, why is space race victory the hardest one?

  • @Hodak55 Space Race isn't hard, it just takes ages to get. I just Cultured on Prince in 1662 (Marathon, which is tailored towards Domination or Conquest). There's no way that I could've gotten an earlier Space Ship. (Not at my level of skill anyway).

  • @chankljp Space race? Actually I have problems with conquest and domination. I suck at war. xD

And for some reason I'm always playing peaceful.

  • "And for some reason I'm always playing peaceful."

What part of war are you having trouble with, and what difficulty are you playing on? What I would do is be aggressive and ruthless, if you have horses charge into their capital (or their best production city) and raise it to the ground and then expand with your main force of swordsmen axemen and catapults. If your enemy has horses put a spearman in your stack if he has elephants put two or more spearmen in .

  • @ScaredPiglet what do u mean

  • @ScaredPiglet You mean like: Only 2% and I have the domination victory! *suddenly gets cultural victory* Damn!

Because this happened today to me. I just had to wait for 2 cities to join my nation, but then I got the cultural victory.

  • @iorost It's turn based and takes a lot longer than a game like Age of empires, but it's really awesome

  • And to think; all I had to do to get all those wonders was chop down every last tree on Earth.

  • my first victory type. I did it with saladin scenario. it required +50000 and my cities:

    baghdad 80000

    jerusalem 50000

    mecca 55000

  • @gauldothalfdead

whoa you seem to be god

I think thats by far the one most difficult victory type

  • For some help, culture isnt that hard to do. First, get a religion, any religion, so you can get big early culture bonuses. Get music, 50/50 your culture and research. Get a Colosseum, the culture will make them happy. You need to snag all the wonders you can. Get the sistine chapel and spam artists and priest for your cities. Sistine is the most important part. Finally, get all the final civics on the list, they can double your culture. Trust me, it is the easiest victory. Keep at it!

  • Civ II I always played for conquest... But Civ IV I seem to like this victory...

  • I always go for conquest.

  • diplomatic victory is by far the easiest victory. just make some allies, build the united nations, vote for diplomatic victory. POOF! presto, you win

  • @ems3tv

But it's the most boring one...

And no-one will vote for you in online play

    >:D

  • i agree there.for beginners. it's definently the best. but as you get better, you have to start testing yourself. i'm aiming for a conquest, but i'm still having to figure out how to keep my economy running to support a big enough army. great merchants help out a lot there.

  • It is very common that people use the strategy of hyper-expansion copying the AI

However as one will soon realize it chokes your economy so the best way is to plan and at first only expand where there is one good resource such as gold.

This way there is assurance that your army will not eat your money as you will have some extra, though it is not advisable to wait too long before suppressing your nearest opponent, and i mean only suppressing not destroying as you might want to exploit him later

  • i would say that you should destroy money making things like gold mines and cottages so you can ultimately have more gold, meaning your army should be larger.

  • Not really, pillaging is temporary cash and will not affect your gold rate per turn. The only kind of pillaging that will work is blockading missions with Privateers (if you have BTS expansion) Really nice way cus your opponent cannot know the nationality of your privateer. >:D

  • no, i mean THEY will have LESS gold per turn, not YOU having MORE gold.

  • It seems to me you're not a native speaker.

If you would've rephrased what you said earlier it could have made sense.

    Well whatever, later

  • later. i take no offense from what you said

  • i dont even try cultural victory i rule with an iron fist shoot first draw paintings later thats my motto and its never failed

  • what if you shot paintings at people

  • oh and i forgot, get as much great artists as you can too obviously. they help a lot.

  • @joyfulvulture I just want to ask...Is it true that if you have an artist, you will get +14000 culture?

  • it's +4000 culture

  • for the record, i play on immortal now and played quite a few games on emperor.

  • wow thats a rare victory

  • HOw can I do cultural victory

  • Just let you er.... 5 city produce Culture to

Legendary culture class. 50000+ culture point that it you will achive it.

    Good luck

  • @ThoraninC It was 3, I thought.

  • I achieved it and I've been playing this game for years. To be honest it's the hardest victory to get and involves the most planning.

Use an industrious and financial leader, have a lot of profit and make sure that every Great Artist goes to the cities that you need.

If your cultural slider isn't at say, about 50% by the modern era, than you won't get a cultural victory.

  • @secondyonsama

theres two main ways of getting one:

the fastest but riskiest way is to fill your 3 culture cities with cottages and use the culture slider as much as you can after getting free speech. build as much cathedrals as you can.

the safe but still fast way is to build some wonders and cathedrals, get a lot of resources (i.e. a big empire), then use corporations for some insane culture.

i've gotten wins faster than any diplo/domination/space without using the slider at all.

  • Why the damm Mongolions keep breaking my dammed wall!

  • DAMN YOU MONGORIAAAANS!

  • @Uberskull Haha I got that right away.

  • Guys, I don't know why but for me Cultural is my best and easiest way to win :D. No lie! I can show you my Hall of Fame list.

  • GRRRRR! I cant beat the game with any difficulty past noble. They always end up researching manhatten project and Nuking my citys dry. God damn Mongolians.....

  • ... breaking down my shity wall

  • yeh price+ difficulties are rly hard... i managed to win on monach a few times, but i belive i got lucky.

  • @kolya588

lol just play as d mongols then!! :D

  • @kolya588

"God damnit, how come everytime us Chinese put up a wall the damn Mongolians have to come and knock it down!"

  • @kolya588 Sucks for you but that never happen to me in Noble. I would usually get knocked out by year 1700 in that difficulty -.- LOL!

  • @kolya588 im mongolian so FTW

  • IVE NUKED THE UNITED STATES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED

  • i usually turn off Cultural victories. more often than not, i win thanks to Domination victories. that and i always take all the uranium off the map. i don't care for people building nukes.

  • I always take cultural, time, and domination victorys off the table. As for nukes... Yeah it sucks when an AI wipes out your S.O.D. with a few nukes.

  • Nukes make the game really messy sometimes.

  • yea i hate the zulu, try to kill those bums first every time.

  • why casue they black?

  • No Because the assholes always declare war on me.

  • HA HA HA

  • Its true every fucking time

    *starts game*

    *forms first colony*

    *scout finds Zululand*

"I hope were have a long and good treaty*

    *2 seconds later*

*Zululand has declared war on Gmanzombie!*

  • Well, disable them lol

  • But I like playing the game with as much players as I can... I just which they were less hostile.

  • LOL

  • Otherwise they always go to war with me..

and usually they bring allies who then also go to war with me...

    then they have allies too..

    and those allies have allies...

next thing I know Im being bombed by 80% of the world.

  • it's basically a matter of choosing sides. they usually start forming friends and enemies early, so choose wisly

  • shaka is super cocky when he gets police state.

  • @GmanZombie The logical step goes like this

    *Find Zulu*

    *Whip archers/axemen*

    *Raze Ulundi*

  • @GmanZombie

Shaka, Montezuma, Alexander, and Ghegis Khan will always betray you, its in their personality programing, never trust them. Ceasar and Napoleon are dangerous as well but not as ruthless.

  • @GmanZombie

    Wow really

  • haha i won with a cultural victory and i didn't even know i was doing it :P it just happened. :D

  • lol that city looked like mine used to when I first started play Civ. all I would do is build wonders and occasionally military units :P

  • me mostly it's easy to keep them happy...

I love the great wall going all the way around..

  • Me to that what i am doing right now

  • Apparently that's Sid Mier's face on the colossus

  • Damn, that looks like the most fun city to live in. It has everything. :D

  • I would say that the victories would go in this order: (hardest to easiest)

    1. Cultural

    2. Conquest

    3. Domination

    4. Diplomatic

    5. Space Race

    6. Time

  • no i think diplomatic is the easiest before time

  • domination is much easier than space race same with conquest

  • space race is the easiest 1but cultural is the hardest

  • Space race is one of the hardest, especially if you have distractions such as war or a rival nation.

The easiest by far is a time victory.

  • this game ruins you life but still i cant stop it

  • Ho! I have never achieved this one. Hmm...time to reinstall Civ IV again.

  • always get a conquest victory or a diplomatic victory

  • Woop! Just got my first cultural victory this evening :)

  • Honestly i think this is the most difficult to get, i almost always get a domination if i don't explicitly try for the others.

  • No matter who I play, I almost always get this victory.

as a result i've turned it off

  • Damn Im gonna try to win by Culture next time but not only is it hard for me lol, but also knowing that something always tells me to conquer, to attack, to destroy everybody.

1st Victory I achieved after 5 months of nonplay, was with Joseph Stalin- Domination (although was going for conquest :(

  • Personally, I prefer to win peacefully either by culture or space race. Winning by war takes too darn long and by the time I reach the last civ to fight time victory kicks in and I hate time victory the most hehe.

  • thats really funny because i usually win by war before i get space race. I always win by culture, or war. Im basically in war the entire gameplay except for maybe the first 50-150 turns.

  • DAMN! I always win by time victory

  • how do u get cultural victory i always win through space age

  • i think when 2 thirds of the world share your culter, i did it once by accedent

  • It's when three of your cities reach legendary culture status. I'm not sure exactly what number is considered legendary, though.

  • you can change it when you start a new game in the rules i did it on my new game

  • 50.000 culture total in a city = Legendary status

  • same here. i always like to play the earth 18 civ scenerio and find the space to be the easiest. you just expand very early, don't even have to take out any more than 1 other person. once you hit the industrial age, every empire seems to settle in, just play pussy and build, research etc. simple. i think military victory with 18 civs is very hard even on the 2nd to easiest difficulty... (the one i always play on ... )

  • i always seem to get this... i even went all out war around renaissance era and halfway done conquering my enemies i suddenly won through culture...

  • i think you need to turn off other victory conditions to win by conquest...otherwise at least domination will kick in beforehand

  • i got this once..

hard as hell though because i used everything i had on research and wonders, i had very little military

i had to rely on my allies from France, Persia, China, and the Celtics to fight for me =p

  • i never win culture my enemies always feel the sharp pain of a bullet

  • please subscribe to UnLuCkYrEcOrDs956 youll see why when you do!!!

  • The quality of this video, to be entirely honest, is not too good, no offense

  • it is press HQ

  • lol, this is how my cities in Civ2 looked like. even in god-difficulty. never liked to let other civ's built any wonders at all. all mine. :P

  • I normally go for the space race victory.

  • cultural is my favorite victory could you imagine if such a city really existed the haven of all culture and enligtenment in the world that would be heaven on earth for me

  • I never went for a cultural victory but my guess is that it is very hard to pull it off. I usually have at least one city with two 10-culture/turn wonders and numerous + xx% culture improvements. Even these don't reach the 750.000 CP (epic speed).

I guess you have to put a lot of specialists to the task.

  • actually ive gotten close a lot of times without even trying, the only problem is that as soon as you start hitting 40+ culture, every other civilization will freak out and you can expect to have to fight all of them as they try to stop you.

  • Meanwhile, I tried to achieve a cultural victory and realized that you have to give research in the hands of specialists exclusively, turn the cultural meter up to 100%, go straight for the +100% cpt civic, build more wonders and above all the different cathedrals. As I usually spend 2/3 of the rounds at war, always winning by domination, I never cared to much about religion. I enjoy the different strategy.. cultural victory could be the real thing. Let's wait for those imps to declare war :)
