  • thats a nice replica worth around £10k

the original didnt hv an electric engine

the original cudnt reverse but since it was only 59kg u cud pick it up and turn it around

the original got 100mpg = 2.8L/100km (according to estimates)

and the original had a max speed of 38mph = 61km/h

  • @SquireofFire I agree that is a replica,i remember seeing a peel p50 in the early 70's and there was no reverse gear.

  • i loved ripleys museum so much i went thre today

  • how do u brake again?

  • It's like he is wearing a car costume.

  • I think a skateboard would be more practical.

  • yeah really xD

  • just ideal to my car collection scale,.. but its terrible expensive!!!

  • Its not a Peel P50, its electric!!!!

  • I've been there once.

    Totally awesome!

  • is that a Remote Control Toy Car !

  • lolz

  • if they sell it in singapore,i would buy it

  • Since when did the peel p50 have a reverse gear

  • When using an electric motor, there is no need for a reverse gear... To drive backwards, the motor actually spins backwards. This is done by simply reversing the polarity of the motor. I would call that an improvement over the original 2-stroke scooter engine...

  • The real one uses a petrol engine and does not have a reverse gear.

  • it's like postman pat!

  • omg i want one so bad

  • i really don't understand what is so humorous about it. Instead of seeing something like this as a smart alternative to idiotic 1 tonne cars, they see it as an object to laugh about. to me, that's a bit sad..

  • I totally agree. Things are even worse here, people still drive alone in 3-ton+ SUVs. For some reason, it has been thought that a monster truck is needed to haul a couple of small kids.

  • ahaha that funny

  • its a replica. reverse gear!

  • this is not a real one, it is a replica, that's why it is electric, I think this one was created for a TV Show last year.

  • @kadsjr There is no "new owner" of Peel. The people making the electric ones have not bought out the old company. They apparently simply registered a new company in England and began making them. You cant' "google it" for more info as it has not been widely reported yet. Any info out there is simply re-stated press releases that don't bother to find out the facts. The estate of the late owner of Peel Engineering has already begun to raise a stink about this.

  • @kadsjr Can you prove that they bought out the original Peel Engineering Company on the Isle of Man and did not simply register the name in England for £50?

Simply saying so does not make it so. What your brother "owns" is a different company with zero connection to the old one. It is a legitimate business but it has no connection to the original Peel Engineering on the Isle of Man.

  • @kadsjr this can be answered quite simply. Ask your brother WHO sold him the company: Peel Engineering. Should be easy to answer.
