Dear Brother in God. I enjoy your video I like how you expess the word. There are times its hard to be a christions there are poeple who sterotype one religon I beleive Jesus and God it hard to live by when family or friends wants to your life or what faith to beleive in. I like to hear more about what you said to come. God be with you and bless you and family . Love and Peace.
I completely agree with what you say about how church leaders should be: leaders--examples--and not overlords. The same problem can be found in the RC faith, to which I belong. Priests and bishops should not act like royalty over the faithful, but instead should be like guides leading the faithful to union with Christ--through their own examples. Those who are genuine in it can be recognized for their sacrifice but also a lack of haughtiness. I enjoy your series. God bless you and your family.
I commend you my brother for your sevice to mankind and your steadfastness to our Lord. I stumbled upon your videos looking to do better in my garden and I am pleased to find you too are a brother in Christ.
May the Lord continue to bless you as you continue faithfully.
I am a born again Christian. I love your videos. I just ran across them today. I was looking for how to can tomatoes and sweet pickles. But, I think you are a good man and for you to have knowledge of things that we all need to know, it is wonderful that you are sharing them.
Where you use the term "neutral" but were admittedly unsatisfied with that term, I use "set apart" for proper Christianity. Like Anabaptists but more pointedly, I focus on being "set apart" from the worldly social structure variously called patriotism, civilization, and nationalism. All ancient idolatry was merely objects as symbols of nationalist patriotism, the system invented by Nimrod in Genesis 10 who is Enmerkar in the Sumerian king list.
I stumbled across this site while viewing off-grid living vids. I've been watching their "HomesteadAcres" vids for the last 3hrs! I'm deeply moved! I sincerely admire this man & his wife! WHAT an EXAMPLE! I'm a every Sunday Methodist, born & raised, & more than likey die, (58yrs). BUT, this young man & his family have made my eyes water with hope! What a blessing to stunble across!
Great video my brother, I am Baptist myself but any body that calls on the name of Jesus is indeed my brother, Catholic, Presbeterian, Full Gospel whatever. And I welcome all.
what is incredibly awesome is that to be a born again christian is not a religion but truth. Every time i think of that perspective, i can't help but feel overwhelmed and enlightened by it. Yes, i agree about the neutrality issue aswell and also the word of God. You MUST read the word yourself and pray for understanding. I question the interpretation of my own pastors at times, lol- but you have to seek him regardless of man his interpretations.
I appreciate your testimony, brother. I'm new to your videos and I knew you were a Christian because the Lord is evident in you. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to your videos.
Another clue that you're not Amish is that you're making YouTube videos. :)
As the old saying goes " You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time". God bless you and yours.
I dont know what this born again christian is, but im a ordinary christian belive in god. i dont think the main thing is what religion youre in, but if you use common sense and are nice to them other peoples around you, im sure god will accept you. peace from norway=)
You could believe in space monkeys for all I care. I think you're awesome. And your videos are great. And I think your beard is like the coolest thing EVA!
Hi I am a Born Again believer but also and more importantly a Messianic Born Again believer. I was just woundering if you celebrate The Lords Feasts and Festivals. ie Passover, Tabernacle etc.
I love your beard. It is beautiful! My husband will not grow one=-(
What are the diferences between the Amish and the Mennonite faith? What sets you apart from them?
I would so love to live out on my own land gardening, making my own bread, jams, etc...and living the way we used to before the industrialization of this country.
AMEN to only trusting the scripture! I love reading the beautiful Bible all it's wonderful words.
i'm a born again christian and i admit i left the church because of all the back stabbing, and they where elders of the church i'm a baptist, born and raised country girl, my father did not like girls wearing slack had to be dresses, now as i have grown up and a adult know, life changes, i have read the bible up too revelations went to bible study, still have my bible with all my writing and verse marked , i have the Lord always in my heart and believe in Him,thank you for your videos
ps. Your kindness has inspired me to reassess my philosophy of life. I used to read Ayn Rand, but I've begun to realize that being selfish isn't all it's cracked up to be. I get a strong sense that there is a God and that we were put here to learn something. Now it feels good to want to help others. I agree though that it is futile for anyone to force an insight in someone; that just begets hatred. Thanks again friend. :-)
I really dig all your videos, they bring a great point of view to people. you seem totally sincere and seem like a decent person with a great lifestyle. thank you and your family. I live in Scotland and wish I had a homestead. maybe one day.
thank you for this post, you help me to come back in faith. i work within a large ministry and thought it was going to be Utopia... well Its something very different your "they like to be in charge but not lead" is perfect, what scripture is that from?
Hook & eyes are used by Amish instead of buttons as buttons were associated with military in Europe.
The only Christian is a born again one!
As for the beard, consider: If God gave it, why remove it? It is a sign of distinction between men and women but also between men and boys. Your style of beard along with dress puts me in mind of our German Baptist Brethren relatives.
I didn't take a job with the Red Cross due to the fact I would have to be "neutral" and not admit/profess Christ. I now have a much better job with more pay in a Christian friendly long term care faciilty, God is good.
Being bold about my belief and not have people running away from me and Christ/Christianity is always an ongoing struggle. I refuse to claim a denomination, just that I'm trying to be a good Christian, a follower of Christ but I fail daily. ALL people are hypocrites, knowingly or unknowingly, including Christians. None of us are better than another believer or non-believer. Leaders are more accountable and therefore I don't want to be leader. lol.
I have a Mennonite friend who says , if asked. Are you Amish? He says I am as Amish as my beard. but really he doesnt have one. We went to a Mennonite church for five years never could find peace there there was a lot of turmoil
well said,to many people are hung up on what church you go to,who so ever calls on the name of Jesus shall be saved and they are my brother,i love your video's keep up the good work God bless you and your family
I applaud your testimony and look forward to your next post. My wife and I have been thrown out of many churches as a result of questioning "Authority" glad it's not just us. hehehe. The last church threw us out because we said Islam was a faith of violence not a faith of love (pre 9/11) and our ecumenical mainstream church requested we leave. You can't Please everyone so just please the Lord God Almighty. I look forward to your next post. Boldly proclaim the gospel of Christ!
yeah thanks for this yeah even win you become a born again christian you still ahve problems like every body els but the only thing between the un saved, and the saved that unsaved ppl burn in hell forever and us saved ppl get to live with the father and his son jesus in heavan if you are unsaved you have nope hope for life after death
I like you vids, you have a lot to share and I hope you continue to do so. Be true to yourself and if people dont like it, it is their lose, not yours.
As always I look forward to each and every video you do. You are an inspiration to me and my family, and I thank you for all that yu do. We too attempt homesteading (sort of a dual lifestyle) and it is time consuming, but so well worth it. Many thanks, and God Bless you my friend.
i ve been to amish communities outside port royal, pennsyl and also at autumn apple festivals just over the penns/maryland border. You seem sincere in your believes and so it is refreshing that you have opened up like this in such an honest sincere way.A lot of background news here, you said you are nt mennonite/amish,i was curious which paticular sect/branch you "align" altho your understandin seems to transcend and paticular sect.you can pm if you dont want to answer via the channel.thanx
I am bornagain protestant evangelical myself. Our job is to be ready to share our faith when people ask not hammer it into others. Glad you hold that bible is true, and in the trinity, and salvation by grace and faith.
It takes a lot of faith and guts to share your beliefs. There are too many people who seem to have nothing better to do than go around dissing peoples beliefs. I've seen it far too many times. The way I see it, one must stand up for their beliefs but must not infring on others beliefs. AKA atheists should not be dissing Christianity (this is the most common bashing I see). Good video and glad to be able to watch it.
I am athiest. I still like the guy. He seems honest and sincere and we share a common belief that we should be more prepared. He is not shoving his beliefs on every video, he is just sharing his personal views. I was thinking Mennonite. He wears colors and uses electricity and most if not all Amish do not.
@Jeffery19677: You are indeed a different atheist than I tend to so. Most I see tend to go to extremes to diss god and the bible and anyone who believes in either. I've seen near wars on YouTube over videos talking about someones beliefs and faith. I believe HomesteadAcres here shouldn't have an issue though from that crowd because of his honesty and integrity and the fact that somehow he's addicting :P
I appreciate how you set the record straight. I'm not here nor there when I comes to religion and such but I can say that your perspective is true to you and that's all that counts. Great vid!
excellent introduction homesteadacres on your new faith series, we all live by the grace of god and through his son jesus we have been given our greatest gift, our faith in him. well done my friend, and bless you and your family.
i like the part in the bible god is in a church that is selling animals and other crap. and they ask god what you doing? and he saids im brading a whip then he beats the crap out of ever one and whips them!
We as believers must not create a new law. I see some posts that do this to you.
I agree 100% with what you have said.
I believe we can share Godly principals without knocking people over the heads. There are times the Spirit leads me to say a principal without even mentioning God's name.
Keep being lead by the Spirit. Really in the end, we answer only to God, not to men. I want to be square with Him.
for me..The Lords greatness cannot be contained in one book or one church or one religion..we are ALL Gods people and each of us has a place in His heart.

Wow great video... I love your out look on Christianity... I am a christian myself tho I dont go to church much anymore... I moved to florida about 10 years ago and just cant seem to find one that is welcoming. To many obviously fake Christians that you could tell were not there to praise the Lord and learn more about him. Oh well I think it is refreshing to see another man who is truly about the Lord. Im glad I found this channel. God Bless.
I look forward to this series. Your humble sincerity is an excellent witness for your faith. I don't try to talk people into my Christian faith either. I always have St. Francis' quote in the back of my mind:
"Go forth and spread the Gospel. If necessary, use words."
That was a great intro and no you shouldnt walk on eggshells for anyone.
You should have your own opinion on this subject.
It was very refreshing and kindhearted for you to express your view on your own religious beliefs without trying to force it on anyone else.
I wish there were more people like you, that can have an intelligent conversation about their religious views without trying to cram it down my throat or make me feel bad because I dont feel the same way.
