  • Can you share the info on your fender flares I need some like yours

  • what size shocks did you use?

  • Wonderful job on this Jeep. Thank you for posting and for the tips. I am just starting to restore a '68, exactly the same model. Yours is the nicest I have seen anywhere.

  • Sweet man. I used to have a corvette yellow 67 that I regretfully sold to buy a house. I did all my work as well. Kept my 225 Buick also. Lots of power for its size. Hang on to it man because they are hard to find these days

  • Ive been looking to buy a jeepster commando convertable for about 2 years now, Ive almost got the cash now i need the jeep i cant find a good place to get one, besides craigslist has one right now but since i cant afford it i have to watch it sit. really unfair but anyways if you know any good sites please let me know thanks. =)

  • Nick - where did you get tire carrier?

  • Hey Nick. I've got a 64 Willy's Wagon, And I really like how you thru your stereo into your center console. How exactly did you do that? Cause at walmart i found a console that could hold one, but also I saw the Tuffy center console that has the security system for the stereo. Just let me know what you did real quick, Thanks man! Great Jeep! I had a 71 up till a week ago. Take it easy dude.

  • @bythenproductions my console is a smittybuilt and it already had the place for the stereo! was like 120 bucks out of JCwhitney magazine

  • I own a 71. Yours looks very good. Can you tell me how you went about the diamond plate? How do you attach that stuff? Did you re-do your floor boards? Are they diamond plate?

  • @aurorakooba

I actually just used a sheer and break to make the diamond plate. When it came to applying it I used 3/4 long stainless steel screws

  • BEAUTIFUL. I have wanted one of these for a while now for a fun weekend cruiser.

  • Hello Nick...................beautiful ride. I have a 1973 Jeepster Commando convertible. Where did you get the roll bar? Thanks!

  • @Bobby072568 i took my 69 commando to a local racing shop (tc design in milpitas ca), most high schools auto shops have tube benders and everything youd need to weld but for something that could save your life you might want a pro to do it!

  • @Bobby072568

    ITS THE ORIGINAL!!!

  • I own a 1970 just alike yours but have a problem locating the spare tire over the original bumper, can you help me whit some pics of your spare tire assembly, thank a lot

  • swweeeeeeeeeeeeeet ride !!!!!

  • @simonz28

    thanks a lot man

  • Is your tire carrier mounted to the tail gate? Or does it swing out of the way? Do you have any pics? Thanks

  • hey man i a sophmore in high school and my grandpa gave me for my 16th bday a 1970s commando i hope my turns out as nice as urs me and my grandpa are working on it togther. How hard and expensive was putting a lift on it ? well any ways sweettt ride dude cant wait to get myn dun

  • @aspenarcheryusa

Sick man! And the lift kit was actually really hard, unless you have a welder and cutting torch, if you can try and buy rear lift springs for a CJ8 and front lift springs for a CJ5 and install those for a small lift, the only problem you will run into is the steering...

  • its gorgess man! GREAT work

  • You did a fantastic job on this jeep! I was a little disappointed to see the orignal engine. I would like to someone do a grand national turbo charged V6 in a Commando. You should be very proud of this Jeepster!

  • niiice work man! congrats;)

  • niiice work man! congrats;)

  • That is really nice!! looking at buying a 70 jeepster commando, and wondered if it was a good candidate for a lift and some meats!

  • Nick great job! I have a 67 Jeepster that I am just starting. Any sugestions for the rear bumper and tire carrier? My new wheels don't fit inside. Keep up the good work.

  • @67reepster

Install a tow package to the rear frame and make a tire carrier like i did i guess? And if you wheels don't fit inside the wheel wells just add some lift shackles

  • I got a 69' convertable no top all original. lookin to restore.Any ideas where to find a top?

  • @16201620420 just google jeepsterpartsdude

  • Awesome Restoration.... Where did you buy Jeepster parts at....I cannot find any place to purchase taillights and mirrors and bumpers etc.

  • @carsetcinc just google jeepsterpartsdude

  • Great Job... I am restoring a 1971 Jeepster but cannot find any place to buy parts any suggestions?

  • @carsetcinc just google jeepsterpartsdude

  • very nice

  • Very nice Jeepster. I am surprised that with all that you did, you didnt replace the Ross steering with Saginaw...

  • steers better than my 2006 chevy silverado =) that custom drop down bracket really did the trick

  • need to clean up under the hood.... wiring is a bit messy....

  • Very very impressed! I'm restoring a 67. Did you change the axles or gearing? Any body lift in addition to axle lift? Can tell you put your heart into it ...awesome!

  • the axles are the same, dana 27 in front, 30 in the rear, and the gears were changed to 4:56 from 3:73, and its all suspension lift =) thanks

  • Those blocks in the rear are scary but otherwise, you have an amazing Jeep. Absolutely beautiful.

  • @Psaurus81 actually rear blocks arent bad,, front blocks are the scary ones

  • i dont offroad it though, car shows only =)

  • That's a shame but I guess I cringe every time a branch adds some custom pinstriping to my Cherokee and it looks like you've put a lot of love into that Jeepster. I used to have a '71 in college that I sold because I couldn't afford to make it look like yours. My brother has a nice '71 but his is definitely an off roader first and foremost (I have a couple of videos of it in my profile) and not nearly as pretty as yours.

  • thanks man, and i would go offroading, but once i started fixing it up i couldnt stop lol

  • what was the original carb do you know ive been trying to find it and cant

  • i have it for sale for 40 bucks! its a 2 barrel rochester, ran perfect when i got it!

  • now its time to tear up the trails

get that shit muddy and broken!

  • car shows only man haha

  • ohh come on

you wouldnt buy a gun and not shoot it, would you?

  • thats why i have 3 trucks man =)

  • I really like your Commando dude! Im currently doing a frame off resto on my 1966 Commando. Thanks for all the tips, Do you know of a company or website that had some good parts or did you just have to pick and choose?

  • What is the biggest size tire I can install without a lift ?

  • Great looking Commando. I was wondering if you used the original gas tank or if you replaced it.

  • its the original

  • Hola estoy muy contento y feliz de ver ese comando tengo yo 1 jeep comando fabricado en españa pero no se le parece nada en el tuyo. Me gustaria tener yo uno igual aqui
