I want everyone to know that HPV is not only passed through sexual activity. There are children being born with this disease. My 12 yr old (good) granddaughter was just recently diagnosed with HPV of the mouth. This child has never had any sexual contact. The doctor said she was born with it. Most women, after getting high-risk HPV strain, would get normal pap smear test after 1-2 years, they dont need any treatment. Some women are just stupid, they drink, they smoke, they dont eat healthy, so it decrease their antibody and it lets their HPV infection "conquer" their body. If you are worry too much about your future BF/GF, just tell them to get Gardasyl, it's a HPV vaccine that can prevent 4 HPV strains, 2 high-risk and 2 low-risk which all are responsible to 90% of genital warts/cervical cancer cases. Problem got worse. 2nd ENT concurred with the first - doubled Nexium. 3rd ENT diagnosed neuralgia. After I pointed out that I found a lump on the back of my tongue he said that they would have to see what developed! 4th ENT did surgical biopsy - results inconclusive. 5th ENT did second surgical biopsy and lab confirmed SCC Base of Tongue - HPV-16. HPV and warts are the same thing. You can get HPV the same way you can get warts - not just through sex with another, but through touching contaminated objects like towels, a dirty gym, or infected skin (like someone's hands) can spread the warts to your hands, your hands to your genitals, etc.

That is when the worse pain imaginable started to progress from my throat, to my ear and into my temple. Take a persistence sore throat or pain in the throat area or a persistent cough very seriously. I did and thank God after seeing 6 doctors and being misdiagnosed for 10 months they found the cancer.

Transmission via fomites (inanimate objects) such as glasses and eating utensils is the one of many reasons why restaurants are a public health concern and must use proper hygienic dish washing practices. The dishes and utensils must be sanitized (not sterilized) in order to make them safe for reuse. A virus will survive outside the host and is transmittable, it does not take direct human contact, but it helps.

I was diagnosed with HPV-16 caused tongue cancer only after almost dying from it. All the doctors thought I had a sore throat caused by acid reflux. Only persistence resulted in a correct diagnosis, but only after the biopsy confirmed the presence of the HPV-16 virus.

My cancer had not progressed to the point that surgery was necessary, but had I waited a few more months that may have been my only hope for survival. Having your jaw surgically removed so the surgeon can get too your tongue is not a easy feat nor is putting you back together after they cut out part or most of your tongue and if you're lucky replace the missing portion of the tongue with other muscle so you can eat and speak.

I am not sure. I have not read anything that described the actual pain. What I did read and what doctors have said is that you will get something called dysplasia at the back of your throat (impossible for the naked eye to see). an ENT (ear nose and throat doctor) can put a special scope with a camera down your throat to see and make sure everything is OK. They suggested doing it once a year. The cost to have this done is between 200-$500 without insurance.

It's easy for a guy to be mistreated as if it is herpes as well, and the best thing to calm down low-risk HPV is take small doses of your own urine like one in the morning one at night for maybe a week or so. It sounds disgusting, but it's called urine therapy and if I remember correctly it is a huge healing method in India. Anyways I took small doses (cough syrup or shot glass) amount and removed the warts-wart free for 2 years

Few more questions.Been to the family doctor,dentist and ENT doctor and given the all clear for cancer.Can the ENT doc tell just by looking down your troath and in your nose and mouth that you do not have cancer.Sometimes my teeth hurt too. Still worried. Should I be?

I have been worried about HPV .I have a few flesh tone bumps and red bumps on my skin .Some on the legs and arms and a few on my chest and back.Worried about it as I have not been feeling the greatest health wise.Done lots of blood test and medical test and all come back fine.Was getting pain in my troath and num feelings on my toungh for almost half a year.Family doctor and dentist say nothing is there.Went to a ENT specialist and she put the tubes down my nose and siad all is clear.

Chances are low but not impossible... There is no test to detect oral HPV. Can only detect it if/when theres a problem. Might be a good idea to get a checkup by an ENT doctor once a year. They put a scope down your throat to see any problems. If you are young you are probably OK. Oral HPV usually affects people 40+ years old. It's a sick world we live in. Don't hold hands with a person unless they have documentation that they have been tested for all diseases.
