  • STOP IT,that beef is 10 years dead now. Both are ill end of discussion.

  • @sinman2483 jay z is the one who sold out and switched his style...he used to run with tht h jigga the o jigga the v jigga the a and then he heard nas and said "o i think ill hop on his nuts"

  • @Quintonamort wtf did you just say?

  • @sinman2483 nigga can you read? i said jay z stole nas' style

  • @Quintonamort LMAO when did Jay-Z ever prophesize or try to drop pseudo-knowledge? Plus it's a known fact that ya homie Nas stole Raekwon's mafioso rap style for It Was Written after the chef dropped Only Built 4 Cuban Lynx. On top of being a style biter he's also a sell out and if you want proof of that look at Oochie Wally and My money is my bitch and the Nastradamus album

  • @sinman2483 maybe a lil bit but jay z switched up his whole flow .went from tryin to rap like twista to rappin like nas i mean dont get me wrong jay gotta good flow its just it seems like he started when illmatic dropped

  • @Quintonamort LOL switching your style from slow to fast is not jacking somebody style's son, it's called being versatile. So then by that logic then you're saying that Biggie was jacking Bone Thugs on Notorious THugs

  • What r Yall on? the only album Nas put out tht was wack was streets disciple Jay only put out one good album blueprint 2 every thing else was mainstream garbage bullshit lil Wayne style ..Nas the only true rebel since the beginning..

  • im not much for rap. mosty because of all the new school shit that people think is rap it kinda pisses me off but this is fucking great shit. rap needs to come back to this.

  • Yes jay z did switch styles and he even said it. He used to tap fast like bone. There both top artist of all time I like Nas better. Every artist that's big gets caught up in the political commercial thing once or twice. Important thing is he kept making quality music for what 15 plus yrs. now rappers come and go over night

  • YOO Laptops wit 100Gigabyte!!

    RIP ILL WILL

  • lil wayne is such a fake, he thinks hes the shit coming up with the album art for the carter 3 and the carter 4 but it was really nas who came up with the idea of a kid growing into a man on the album covers

  • this is the 1st Nas joint i bought with my own money.. i was dumb young. it's def a classic to me fuck what anybody say..

  • Yep, by far one of his weakest songs and albums.

  • @Hulk2k6 THE weakest album of his by far

  • @Hulk2k6 but a better album than every album that is made today

  • @Hulk2k6 STFU. ALL of his shit is dope. NAS > all the new shit

  • @chargersarecool

Get off my case. This album was Universally slated as was the title track. Deal with it.

  • @Hulk2k6 W.e just stfu and listen to the music you little bitch

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee nas album covers but my favorite cover has to be illmatic so old school:)

  • waou hold on.. It was written, illmatic, Nastradamus, i am wtf NAS has the best albums in the whole fucking industry after PAC

  • @Chris1T1234 fuck you

  • @smacccityent ha, its true

  • @smacccityent im 15 calm down

  • @Chris1T1234 are u serious this dude is a legend in the game Em even put him before himself pls do ya homework on Nas

  • @MrDman817 it doesn't matter who was first, eminem is the greatest rapper of all time screw j-z

  • @Chris1T1234 wait a minute...wait a minute.. im sorry, ima let you finsish..but i think Tupac has the best rap albums of all time *kanye shrug...*walks off stage

  • @Chris1T1234 who said anything about jay z

  • nas old shit is fire as fuck

  • @ctfbffsby This is not "Nas old shit" lol This is more "Nas is ashamed of this now, shit". But its OK, you are probably a 15 years old girl

  • @TheJinjo75 i herd him saying something about that but that just proves how much of great artist he truly is because the nastradamus album was better than all these other "rappers" albums & mixtapes and he dosent like it

  • Nas was the first Mcee ever who went platinum in the history of hip hop Illmatic is the best album ever + he whooped Jay-Z ass with Either Nas is not a Mcee he is a

    street poet agree ?

  • @CCareTTaker LLCOOL J was the first mc to go platinum with cant live without my radio back in 1985.

  • @CCareTTaker im not a rap fanatic, but i bump to nas joints daily.... but wasnt run dmc raising hell the first platinum?

  • @ilikecandy11211 yes raising hell was released first but it didnt reach platinum till about 10 years later. it was written by nas took about a year to get X2 platinium.

  • @CCareTTaker not the first to go platinum, the first to go platinum making the album in the projects. Run DMC had the first platinum album in hip hop.

  • @djames2322 Run DMC is a group, I think he means solo artist, not saying I am right I'm pretty sure though.

  • @CCareTTaker gang star went platnum before hnas did i mean his ledgend just cuz a album goes plat doesnt alweays mean the person is historically that artist is always good

  • @CCareTTaker nah man he not the first to go platinum

  • @CCareTTaker well he's definitely not a street prophet he never was a gangsta eazy e was a true street prophet & nwa's 2nd album went platinum b4 illmatic :P

  • @djshizel95 he said poet not prophet l

  • @bigblackz either way he aint either of them :P

  • @djshizel95

nas is a poet. eazy e was not.

  • @wrestling743 explain how he isnt LOL he tells about true street life

  • @djshizel95

mainly because a good portion of his music was written by others, including a lot of his "street poetry" I do respect your opinion, however i strongly disagree when you mention NAS is not a poet. I can find no other word better fitting to descibe him as an artist.

  • @wrestling743 omg i h8 ppl tht say eazy didnt write most of his stuff ice cube HELPED write SOME of his stuff in NWA but after nwa eazy wrote everything he did & he even wrote other ppl's stuff & nas is a poet but not a REAL STREET poet he nvr was on the streets

  • @djshizel95

After NWA fell apart he did write his own music you are correct with regard to that, however while together both Cube and Dre wrote for Eazy and credit is given on the original albums produced by the group. Nas may add emphasis to his rhymes, however he has seen the streets first hand losing hisfriend at a rather young age, giving him ample knowledge of how cruel the streets of NY can be.iwould credit him as amuch moretalented lyricist than Eazy and a true poet in the game.

  • @wrestling743 he didnt see with his own eyes his friend get shot & nas always talks about being a gang member but he nvr banged thts why u nvr see him in the streets now & u dont know how talented eazy really was u prolly didnt know he was a DJ/Rapper b4 nwa he was a regular DJ on a radio station he even produces many albums over all he's more talented than nas

  • @CCareTTaker Yep!

  • GREAT Song! One Of Nas's BEST!

  • @CCareTTaker Uh no dumbass Run DMC were the first emcees in the history of hip-hop to go platinum. What you meant to say is Nas was still in the projects when Illmatic went platinum. But then again coming somebody who spelled ETHER wrong, facts and knowledge aren't your strong point.

  • @CCareTTaker No, it's Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle album

  • this is a epmd sample.

  • @ooCSKoo ITS FROM YOU GOTS TO CHILL MAD LOVE TO REA HIPHOP HEADS LIKE IN YOU

  • @thompkinsbilal2 u already know homie

  • @thompkinsbilal2 it's actually from epmd's "let the funk flow"

  • Anyone who was around back then will remember that Nastradamus sucked as an album... It was the worst nas album ever released, and marked the point where Nas sold out... And this shit is STILL better than any new school rap that has come out.

  • @EpicSmackProductions you telling the truth. this was considered garbage and no one played it, yes it still is better than anything that any so called rapper has out now or put out in the last 5 years in fact.

  • lol Killin em Nas uh uh uh uh uh grooving to this shit uh uh uh uh

  • 3 greatest rappers:

    1. Nasty Nas the Esco

    2. Escobar

    3. Nastradamus

  • nas is strickly infinitive black minded when he writes his thoughts down.

  • 10 subordinates are living off a quarter of a brain. this ONE song just shitted on EVERY song today tht get's regular rotation on tha local radio station.

  • I loved this song when it came out. Never knew who sang it, but I could hear the lyric Nastradamus and the beat in my head. Finally looked it up and I still love it!

  • who gives a fuck about the eminem biggie and pac comparisons? theyre different artists and all the best in their own ways. its like comparing zeppeling to the beatles to the rolling stones. no one can rhyme and tie words together like eminem can. but eminem never had the addictive flow that biggie had. and no one could ever verse a story like pac could. theyre different. dont compare them.

  • @cnthree i agree, but its zeppelin :P

  • @cnthree real fucken talk

  • so many to name, 50...... yet there is no doubt that for a white man in a

black mans game Eminem can close alot of fucking mouths not to mention all

the black artists he has helped throughout the years who may not have ever

been signed if not for him. I think the black mans perspective about Eminem

is summed up in the track Yellow Brick Road from Encore which explains the

meeting of him and Proof and even Proof was fucking swayed by his talent,

    enough said. Peace \ /

  • Im white, 43 years old and have a tattoo on my head and love Metal, but I

love rap just as much and have since the mid to late 80's. I'm more or less

addressing the "Eminem" issue in so many words. Eminem's genius is more

attributed to his "flow" as opposed to his lyrics which in some cases are

amazing yet in my opinion he has nothing on Biggie or Nas or even the

Rza - Gza, not to mention Grave Diggaz, Onyx or even Immortal Technique....

  • hot shittttttttt

  • Nah, Nass overpowers Jay-Z by far

But I don't think he can own Eminem

Em's flow is way better than Nas's flow (and I mean ... WAY better)

But on the lyric level they can be compared

but still I'm more on Eminem's side

  • @Drabytt You're white i'm guessing.

  • @AnonomousDr1p And you're black?

    What the hell's the difference?

My opinion is not affected by the colour of an artist

Who do you think you are for suggesting that?

It's a different opinion and it has nothing to do with colour

I still think Biggie and Pac are better than Eminem

  • @Drabytt Biggie and Pac = Who white people think are the "best rappers" to coverup them really loving Eminem the most.

  • @AnonomousDr1p ... what's ur problem ...? Do you have a problem with white people?

Well I'm not gonna continue this pointless conversation

  • @Drabytt Yes, whitey.

  • too bad the album was disappointing..

  • nas is hip-hops ultimate lyricist, so verbally inclined......connessieur

  • Nas is the best rapper hands down...

  • You know what, at least Nas' attempt at a crossover joint was sampled from a classic song and had dope rhymes. Now we got rappers doing techno songs, maybe a major label could for once say, you know what, why don't we try signing someone original, just for a change.

  • @foxbeats original beat is from James Brown's Monorail....

  • If u wanna ball till you fall i can help you with that

  • this is still the dopiest beat no matter how old it is..... nas your beat and flow is un touchable.....and you know this mannnn..........

  • jay z better than nas cause of his flow, nas better than jay z cause of da lyrics, but eminem and lupe are the best, cause of there flow and lyrics....

  • @iAmLASERS

    Nas flows>> Jay's flows

  • This is better than mainstream bullshit out now and this is Nas rapping when he's asleep!!!

Jay Z showed us....you should never disturb and wake up Nasty Nas or you will die

  • been ahead of hiz time...

  • HERES A RESPONSE TO SO MANY LISTS- A LIST OF RAPPERS IN LIKENESS TO GOSPELIC FIGAS YOU SAY JAY-Z - I SAY JESUS YOU SAY NAS - I SAY PETER SIMEON YOU SAY JUDAS - I SAY WAHT?! JOHN - BUSTA RHYMES PHILIP - MASE BARTHOLOMUEW - RZA AND WU TANG THOMAS - LL MATHEW - AZ JAMES - PUN GAVE IT NO THOUGHT
  • ........I LOVED It When My Boy Blind Fury Shitted On This Beat! ;-)

  • ill rated

  • This reminds me of a girl I use to talk to back in the day. Cuz she use to listen to hella Nas also. No names, but this one, and any Nas is for u sexy Lil thang...

  • Comment removed

  • Nasty nas the esco to escobar now he is nastradamus!!

  • I gotta say something important about Nas....He NEVER fell off and Jigga was talkin out of his ass when he accused him of that...The album "Nastradamus" was considered his weakest effort by many people however, it is STILL clearly a decent album and technically that album was an extended part of the "I am" album...If you were to combine "I am" and "Nastradamus" into one album that would definitely be one of the hottest rap albums of all time

  • @Ibrica7 no doubt there both classic albums....i think there great and yea to some people it is considered to be his weakest effort but i don't think so.....they both went platinum anyways

  • @Ibrica7 Jay-Z is one of the most overrated rappers of all time. Every album he says the same thing. "nigga this, jigga that, uh uh uh, i got a billion dollars, i'm a mogul, hova the god, some new york references, jigga my nigga." roll credits. Nastradamus was bad in comparison to Illmatic and It was Written...How many godawful Jay-Z albums are there? The Black Album, Kingdom Come, Blueprints 2 and 3. People support him based on Reasonable Doubt. Jigga is a commercial equivalent to Rihanna.

  • @futurejd1

Thank GAWWWD there's some people out there who realize what a joke "Hova" is. It's the same formulaic crap, over and over and over. He's WAY over-rated.

  • @futurejd1 you lost any credibility you had when you said the black album was garbage...i would make a case for the other albums but i guess those are debatable.

  • @futurejd1

    amen

  • @futurejd1 At least Jay-Z never sold out and switched his style up like Nas did with this track and album. And Reasonable Doubt - The Black Album have ranged from dope to classic. Outside of Illmatic, Stillmatic, and The Lost Tapes how many garbage Nas albums have dropped? And you can thank Jay-Z for Stillmatic. n

  • @sinman2483

what the fuck are you on about have you listened to jay z's music hes a sell out

he makes a song with a good beat and shit lyrics and that sells like a beast

nas makes music thats real and has meaning to it. jay z back around 94 he was a beast doin real funky shit

but jays all about the money now not about the quality

  • @REALKILLADEALRECORDS What the fuck are you on about? Go listen to Moment of Clarity. He's got the lyrical ability of Nas and then some (Go listen to the Dynasty Intro if you disagree which you most likely will), he just dumbs his singles down to move units and drops real shit on the album. At least Hov's honest about that he does it, and didn't just switch it up to commercial shit, flop, and then try and go back to "lyrical" shit like Nas did after Jay-Z called him out on it.

  • @sinman2483

when did nas go mainstream and try and turn back?

nas was and always will be just nas he aint no mainstream cat like jay z. and gods son was a good album especially the track "I Can" all im sayin is jay z spits with kanye rihanna n shit so fuck that

im'a be waitin on nas album which will have real prodcers like premo, rza

  • @REALKILLADEALRECORDS On this album you dumb motherfucker he tried to rap about commercial shit like Jay-Z and failed miserably. And Nas rapped with Ja Rule, Ashanti, and Murder Inc. so no, fuck that.

  • @sinman2483

ja rule ashanti? there isnt anything wrong with them

jay z is a bitch who makes music for only money not to represent the real hip hop

end off. and jay z is the most commercial motherfucker out there. when nas does commercial shit he leaves the hip hop flavour in there mixed with it

  • @REALKILLADEALRECORDS You'd take Ja Rule and Ashanti over Kanye and Rihanna? LOL This argument's over. Jay-Z raps to make money because he's a businessman, Nas raps to spread his bullshit "message". Jay-Z is more entertaining then Nas and his discography is more consistent in quality, plus when Jay chooses to be lyrical he can flow on par with and better then Nas..

  • @sinman2483 Nas is beyond all rappers. He is on par with allen poe and shakespeare bro. fuck a another rappers........

  • @waaqsira I can tell by your poor grammer that you know what your talking about. White power!!!!

  • @ModernWarfareXP3 I apologize English is my third language. Power to the people

    race does not exist kid

  • @sinman2483 are you just going to pretend that Ether never happened? that basically settled the Nas vs. Jay-Z argument forever and crowned Nas king.

  • @dougmac1001 LOL Ether? You mean that hissy fit of gay and ugly jokes and other childish shit that Nas dropped after listening to Takeover that only had 2 real good disses in it (Em + Big diss)? And Nas "The King?" LOL Who signed Nas to Def Jam again?

  • @sinman2483 your still beefin on nas vids? damn bro

ill end your discussion and everyone else you get into fights with

When people battle and lose....people say you got Ether'd, no one ever says you got takeover'd

Get off of Jay's dick, and accept the reality that Nas won

Dont bother going in the future and saying ohh look at Nas, he signed to def jam

that has nothing to do with ether vs takeover

  • @ThumbsUpMike LOL Nas didn't win though...and him saying he won makes him look like an even bigger clown and loser then he really is

  • @sinman2483 so anyone who says their a winner is a loser?

so if a football team kills themselves their whole season and win the superbowl, and want to cheer for their victory and say they are winners.....that makes them clowns?

And Jay Z admitting he lost on blueprint 2 makes him what, a true gangster?

You know whats funny, you claim you Nas is trash and lost and blah blah blah

than why do i always find you on all his videos?

Only fake ass clown here is you bro

  • @ThumbsUpMike LOL that's different. If you battle somebody, then claim you win and then the dude you beat ends up being your boss and signing you and you proceed to sign and take orders from a guy who bragged about fucking your baby mother and leaving condoms in your baby seat, then yeah you lost...bad. And I never said Nas was trash, I just said Nas is a clown and that he lost to Jay-Z

  • @sinman2483 watch?v=MY7j2q5MP18

watch the end of the video where jay z says "i didnt sign nas, i partnered with him"

you can argue one sided point of views which is ignorant and pointless, here's the fact of the reality your gonna have to learn to accept

  • @ThumbsUpMike That's nice that Jay-Z is putting a positive for Nas spin on him signing Nas, but you still can't rebutt or refute that Nas signed to a label that Jay-Z was the CEO of. Any victory Nas might have had was reduced to nothing as soon as he signed that Def Jam contract. Nas Lost.

  • @sinman2483 your retarded Nas built himself in rap where would Jay Z be with out Jaz? even Nas? Jay Z wanted the title King of New York but he knew Nas was better so he dissed NAs when his mother was dying thinking he wouldn't respond Ether was the greatest diss song in history. They dissed Jay Z when he was performing when he dropped that "ask Nas he don't want it with hov" bullshit

  • @smacccityent LOL you goddamn idiot. Jay-Z did quite well for himself without Jaz as he was makin moves with Biggie and Big L. And if you knew your history you'd knew Nas' camp or more specifically bitch ass Prodigy got a Memphis Bleek line twisted and started dissing Jay. And if you think Ether is the best diss in history then you obviously haven't heard a good diss one. I'll bet your second favorite diss is that garbage Hit 'em Up 2pac track. Ether = gay and ugly jokes laced with a 2pac sample

  • @sinman2483 Man your an idiot if it wasn't for Jaz there wouldn't be a Jay z hit em up is trash Tupac is trash and actually Prodigy was saying they need to get at Jay & Nas didn't do it dumbass until after bitch ass Jay z dissed him so who you fooling? fucking troll

  • @smacccityent lmao why you mad fool? I agree with you that 2pac is trash and Hit 'em up is garbage, but no Jay-Z without Jaz is just the meth talkin for you so I'll look past that. And Nas side started the shit by Az and Nas duckin out of recording verses for "Bring it On". But Prodigy's bitch ass was the one that started the fire

  • @sinman2483 no i just think its a lame ass excuse for jay z fans to feel proud in a desperate attempt to convince themselves they didnt lose the war

Idc what your perspective is about nas joining jay z, whether jay z asked him, or he wanted to, or other ppl asked or even forced them to join

Shits meaningless, why dont you worry about something that actually matters in life like the worldwide corruption and agenda thats going on

  • @ThumbsUpMike LOL You're delusional bro. At the end of the day Jay signed Nas to a label he headed up. Take that however you want still can't change that.

This should be good for a LOL what corruption and agenda? So what kind of idiocy are you about tell me? The Occupy Wall Street bullshit or the Jay-Z is an illuminati free mason bullshit?

  • @sinman2483 go research it yourself and believe what you want to believe

Go educate yourself, dont rely on me to tell you shit

same problem with most people in this world, relying on media and other people to tell them what is what

Do it yourself, you dont need me.....your grown up! im hoping

  • @sinman2483 you know whats kinda sad, jay z even admits nas won and is a better lyricist than him

Look back at the I declare war concert, when nas and jay z unite

Jay Z played dead presidents first and nas was just rocking to it and singing the hook(which is him)

Then the world is yours plays and Jay sings every lyric with Nas and knows it perfectly like him

Like you and Jay Z, always love being on Nas's dick

Like you being on Nas's vids all the time haha

  • @ThumbsUpMike True. That's the one thing that about Hov that pisses me off if he just would've played Ether off as nothing and kept being his usual cocky self and not cried like a bitch on Hot97 he could've pulled a W out of this OFFICIALLY

  • @sinman2483 no, the reason he lost was cuz once Ether dropped....jay z fans became nas fans the next day

No one expected that from Nas and Jay Z stupidly replied with weak ass "super ugly" and that hurt himself cuz that was just straight whack

If Jay Z made blueprint 2 as the response, maybe he coulda won idk

  • @sinman2483 "I didnt sign Nas, I partnered with him" - Jay-Z's words, verbatim. Besides it was LA Reid who approved the move to get Nas. And Jay wasnt with Def Jam long either he left like a few months later. Just throwing that out there lol

  • @stopwhining1 LOL who cares what spin Jay-Z put on it, the fact still remains that Nas signed to a label that was headed up by the guy who bragged about fuckin his baby momma and leaving condoms in the kid's carseat

  • @sinman2483 LMAO... Yeah because Jay was super heated because he got killed on Ether.. he had to get personal and start dissing a female (what a pussy move) then his mother made him apologize lmao..Then not only that he was crying on Hot 97 after hearing Ether lmao.. Def Jam was headed by LA Reid (who approved the sigining), not Jay, and what happened when Nas got there? Jay aint boss him around or anything he just ended up leaving a couple months later.

  • @futurejd1 i disagree about the black album being awful because it was gonna be his last album if he retired nd he put alot into it but your right about the others they suck

  • @futurejd1 Your a funny dude. Black album goddawful? Blueprint 2 was ok, definetly not garbage.

  • @futurejd1 you are out ur mind, for one kingdome come went over so many ppls heads it was sick it was actually one of his best albums if u listend to it, like jay said "do you fools listen to music or do u just skim through it" all jays albums are classics same with nas, ur being supper biased bro! and watch the throne is also a classic, im guessig u dont like that aswell tho

  • @futurejd1 LOL You ignorant Nas dickrider, if anyone is overrated it's the homie Nasty Nas. Had a brilliant freshman album and every other one was shit compared to it, and the only other good one was fathered by Jay-Z. Meet The Parents, Song Cry, This Can't be Life, Beach Chair, Minority Report, etc. It's Jay-Hova, the God MC, Rakim calls himself this too so why aren't you calling him out on it or Nas for calling himself God's Song? The only good Nas albums are Illmatic and The Lost Tapes...

  • nas u the man love everyting bout tis joint u inspire me i love how u spit trust u the best

  • Omg apparently I have to clear this up. Sampling is when you take a small portion from a beat and mix it in with other elements(bass, drums, etc.) Thats why it's called "sampling" you're cause you're choosing what parts of an existing beat can be used to make a new beat. Epmd's Let it flow sampled from another song. Nas didn't sample from Let it flow, theres nothing new its the exact same beat, he just stole the entire beat.

  • @mach1man22 if you cant tell the difference in the beat from this song to the empd song you are an idiot sorry

  • @nasmessage I know it's so obvious right?

  • @mach1man22 yeah it is..is it not for you? if you really cant tell a difference get some help

  • Omg apparently I have to clear this up. A sample is not taking the whole beat from a song, its "sampling" meaning a small portion of a song and combining it with other elements(bass, drums, etc.) to make another beat. This beat was used by Epmd in Let it Flow, meaning it had already been sampled from another song. But that was sampling not stealing. Nas didn't sample this beat from Epmd beat, nothing about the beat is new.

  • Wow that bit at the end is so true!

  • Nas is Like remix /watch?v=5K8y5PsmywE

  • wow this brings me back

  • The only to beat Jay-Z; and Jay-Z admitted it!!!!!

  • Had respect for Nas till I found out that he stole this beat from Epmd's- Let the funk flow.
