The more I listen to it, the more I think that "Farad", the electronic voice you hear from 2:16 on is not anything novel. It sounds an awful lot like an old device called a "sonovox", which has been used in movies and commercials ever since the 1940's. Very low-tech, actually. A speaker is held up to the neck, and words are mouthed while a sound is played through the speaker. You can do something like this yourself at home with an electric razor or toothbrush. I still LOVE Bruce's music, though!
