  • What will the future bring from Nintendo? Bundles like the NES Deluxe Set, The NES Action Set, The NES Power Set, And even the NES Challenge Set including 'Super Mario Bros. 3" and you can play it only on the NIntendo Entertainment System. NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER!

  • I wonder what would kids do if Halo existed back then

"OMG DIS CONTROLS R HARD 2 CONTROLLARRSS AARGAAHHH!!!!!"

    Good thing that'll never happen

  • What will the future bring from Nintendo? The NES Advantage controller, The NES Satellite, the NES Four Score, and more hits like 'The Legend of Zelda' and 'Mike Tyson's Punch-out!!' and you can play them only on the Nintendo Entertainment System. NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER!!!

  • in PS3, you are playing with joystick

    in NINTENDO,U'RE PLAYING WITH POWER

    MWAHAHAHAHAHAAA

  • this is probably the first of many many times video games ripped off the alien franchise

  • why are they on a space ship?

  • This commercial kicks so much ass, it should go to jail for assult.

  • lol ya halloween deff schooled you there. yea nintendo started off with slim like any other system. but after about a year they had games UP THE ASS. and the year after that GAMES UP UP UP UP! the ass. nintendo is prob the top consule today to have the most games ever to be on it till its expiriration. seriously jus look at the list on gamefaqs or wikipedia or whatever site you like most. like avgn said.. nintendo FUCKIN RULED THE WORLD. lol

  • yea not to many just over 700 hundred games that's all... dumb ass

  • Wow not too many games available back then...

  • YES! I love this commercial. The Original Nintendo Entertainment System is my favorite video game system of all time. It was out in 1985, when I was born. I still have it today, and I'm keeping it forever. NINTENDO RULES!

  • excite bike.... what a frustrating game that could never be completed....!

  • kinda sounds like Don LaFontaine

  • Nintendo needs to make some tretro commericals like this would be full of win if they did. If only the Wii Zapper didn't look like a turd and was modeled after the original Zapper =/

  • both sega and nintendo kick ass lol

  • we are nintendo, you cannot beat us!

  • sega blows

  • Bullshit, Nintendo had great home titles, but sega had some of the most popular arcade titles. The sega genesis was a great console and if you were a gamer at the time you had one. The only thing sega really failed at was the master system, it was far inferior to the nes system.

  • geeze i cant believe how many people were offended by this. it was just a joke AND one that I made nearly a year ago. I LOVE NINTENDO!

  • heyy did anyone have the first nes with the robot???

i got a question to ask. my father got me one and like a year later nintendo sent me a check saying we spent too much on it when it was purchased like we got one of the first ones made for the us or something. please let me know. i never cashed it. i still have it somewhere.

  • My friend got his first nes system in 1985, it came with the robot, I think the system was around 400-500 bucks. I got mine a year or so later, but it didn't come with the robot. I paid $200 for it. I do believe it came with 2 cartridges, not the newer cartride with the duckhunt/mario combo.

  • NES is one of few wich can brag about itself in commercials like this :)

  • haha, i miss the glory days of gaming. it was a simpler time. and you begged your mom and dad to get you a NES. good times

  • tru dat

  • Yep, this is definitely one of the first. "Great games like...Baseball!" Nice find

  • ooh man this commercial is awesome compared to todays random stuff, and the Nes is was better for the days compared with todays ones.

  • this must be a pretty old nintendo commercial as it features ROB, an accessory that was pulled from the market very shortly after its release.

  • remeber the avp comercial when the alien is hold the mothers arm.

  • Nes is fun but old

  • remeber the avp comercial when the alien is hold the mothers arm.

  • NES owns 360 and PS3 combined!

  • Totally agree with you, link458745. and not just because I miss the good ol' days of retro gaming. This system was so revolutionary and innovative. For all intents and purposes, the PS3 and 360 are just upgraded versions of the PS2 and Xbox; they are basically the same systems with slightly better graphics and hardware, but it's nothing new.

  • Omg get out the the past the NES was awesome Back then its still cool now but it cant compare to the wii 360 or PS3

  • OMG you are a retard... he is comparing them to inovation and invention.Have you seen what and Atari looks like?Think about that and then what the NES did for the world. You would not have anything like we do game wise if it were not for the NES.

That is what he is saying you moron.

  • For some reason it wouldnt let me post this under the Walrus45s post...

  • I can have a ball on the old school games like these and play them for hours and not get bored. I do, however get tired of not being able to win with the new games today. They think it just provides a better challenge, but it doesn't. It just gets me frustrated and want to toss it out the window.

  • So true NES kicks ass!

  • Id love to go back in time and get some mint Nes's, they would be worth loads never opened.

  • Looks like it should have been a commercial for Metroid.

  • No, Super Mario was the best!

  • Ah...Remember Hogan's Alley? That game kicked ass...

  • hahah the commercial is way more hightech than any of those old school games

  • ROB D=

  • I feel old cuz I actually remember that commercial.

  • Was that supposed to be an ALIEN reference? Bunch of kids jerking and freakig out over videogames jumping out at them while they walk down a dark corridor?

At any rate, nice find DarrenCax.

  • back then, the NES was the future.

  • lol old school :P

  • The first time I saw that commercial in 1986 I though it was for those guns with the red lights, then the TV screen with SMB popped out, and video games were back.

  • i will never throw my NES out. its a classic piece of pop culture history. still have mine, with two remotes and about 50 classic games or so.

  • wow

i wonder what they would think of now

    hehe "the future" shhurreeee

  • good times...good times

  • I had an NES when I was a little kid, but it was thrown out. I recently bought a new one, and it takes me back... I used to love Super Mario Bros.

  • Uh, what?

You've never heard anyone say that "takes them back" before?

It means it brings back good memories from the past or something to that effect.

  • ok...ur confusing me too lol

  • excite bike was such a good game

  • wow I totally had a seizure I actually thought I was in that kung fu game about to be molested by three bad guys at the same time

  • "Now your playing with power!" not anyomore.

  • I have gotten my NES on my 9th birthday back on 1/10/1986. I have over 300 games now and I still play Mario, Metroid, Mega Man etc etc.

The 1980s and early 1990s was the best time for gaming, today's games bore the hell out of me, no offense. Ever since the 32 bit era, gaming became boring (to me).

I remember this commercial fondly. Gotta love it.

  • Really why? With the after 32 bit I mean? Also, almost all games in general are not worth, old or new. Though it seems like there may be with a couple of the upcoming next-gen games (mostly RPG's and FPS'), a grand, positive, new direction for video games in general. Imagine in the future, but..not so sure yet.

  • i still have NES with just 75 games, its nice to play it, takes me back to late 80's & early 90's

  • nes is a very good system even if it's old I still like it

  • who is the voice in the off whos telling "now you're playing with power" is this the same voice who also says "i will be the emperor of the world"?

  • GO KUNG FU MAN! KICK HIS ASS!

  • "You are playing with POWER" LOL... What was the robot thing for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES/Famicom)

  • It was called R.O.B, it was usewd for games like Gyroid.

  • and wii

  • This video brings me to my childhood, the NES was my first video game computer seventeen years ago. And obviously I still having this sensational machine in my house.

  • You still have an NES? dang!

  • i still have a nes as well. im never throwing that thing out.

  • "Watch out, everyone! We might run into some exciting new Nintendo games!"

  • Welcome to prime-time, biatch *rams head into TV set*

  • Not bad, I remember that one. Kudos if you can find the advert for The Adventures of Zelda

  • There is no game called "The Adventures of Zelda."

  • That's how old this ad is; The Legend of Zelda wasn't out yet.

  • nice retro clip, but indeed not one of the first, cause japan had the nes with a sort of floppy system, long before it hitted the US and Europe

  • The Famicom Disk System was released in 1986, after the NES...

  • thx for the info, didn't know that!

  • @DarrenCax i dont know if youre talking about a different famicon system but the original famicon was released in japan before NES. Nintendo made famicon first and sold good in japan then brought it to the US. They tried to sell it to atari before bringing it to the US. Look it up online ..its pretty interesting

  • It's not the first advert cause it has ROB the robot in it...(look at 0:25)

  • ROB was introduced along with the NES back in 1985.

  • @DarrenCax This isn't the first. The first was just a purple tinted scene showing kids playing it while a voiceover asks if "you'll be the first to play nes".

  • @DarrenCax its still awesome.

  • lol..NOW YOUR PLAYING WITH POWER!

  • and you know what? NES games still kick some games from todays ass! Like Tomb Raider: Legend.....that game sucks! Excite Bike is 10 times better than that.

  • (I'm heavenshands, I just change my name) Yes I agree, Cause personally....I'm all for "gameplay" and "Story" With innovation on there side witht he remote wii this will cease and stop the powerful graphics nonsense...I do like it so I can see what the fudge I'm doing but technically...sony won't really come on top soon.

  • Also another thing...I do have a PS2 cause most games that were on Nintendo migrated on Sony...I know I will get yelled by this but...I wish kojima would think carefully on MGS series since the wii will have developers going crazy like a kid in a candy store to bring good games that were repetive and boring. I'm done.

  • what do you mean by repetive and boring they look quite interesting on the wii.

  • I meant as in when games that actually came out in first launch for PS2 they were barely BARELY noticable. Like dark cloud, ridge racer 4, dead or alive, they become repeitive and boring, of course it's ok to play but in the end you know damn well what you will get will be nothing but aches and nothing to gain from it. I meant Other games not the wii, Wii hasn't come out yet so we have to wait and see which will reign supreme.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMazing!!!!! Excite bike, good lord... have i played with that...

  • wow.. kung fu, mario, excite bike, they were all awesome

  • ha ha ha ha ha you're hilarious

  • Oh man! Good Stuff!

  • Aguante el family aguante!!

    Firma: Coreano re pirata...

  • haha that kung-fu game looked realistic
