I saw this movie when i was a kid, and i still remember having the living crap scared out of me, especially when he turned around saying "my name is... MR HYDE!" i would scream my ass off at the tv screen, "TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!"
While I still have fond memories of being horrified by this scene in particular, I found this whole movie scarier then a lot of animated movies I'd seen before then.
I remeber this film xD me and my bf were trying to fins it and we where putting book master and library master and then we asked my brother he came in and said page master and went back out and we were sitting their for 20-10mins looking for it xDDD
I remember watching this film as a kid and this scene is one I distinctly remember, Mr Hyde used to scare the living daylights out of me and I hid behind the safety of my pillow :P
I always found it weird why, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde are both here, so does that mean that they are in the fictional world that appears in the book? Or is it just Jekyll and Hyde? (and an extremely large mansion). Is Mr. Utterson there too? Is this in their world? Meh, it's really hard to understand.
You get a tingly feeling from thinking about it, thinking of Jekyll and Hyde, who are from a different world, in THIS world, even though it's still them.
I realise this movie is a children's film but this is the best adaptation of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde i've ever seen. It's very accurate to the book and really shows the difference between the good dr jekyll and evil mr hyde.
I grew up with this movie. I've become a huge Nimoy fan and realizing that I grew up with his voice from this movie makes me laugh a little. XD Thanks for uploading.
The only thing I remember from this movie, vividly, is when he says "My name is...Mr HYDE!!!" I remember being scared shitless, mostly because the volume was loud. Little kid + Loud noise + Scary image = One traumatized kid. I just spent 15 minutes trying to remember the name of this movie just so I could watch this and reminisce. :P
If anything, that scene taught me as a kid to NEVER ingest strange liquids, or else this very terror would commence. Now that I think back on it, that was one hell of an (alcoholic?) drink that Dr. Jekyll brewed up. It can burn through floors, turn fire green, and make its ingestor turn into a bestial psychopath!
Can you believe that this movie had the voice talents of Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, Christopher Lloyd and Frank Welker, who have all worked on Star Trek in one of its incarnations.
lol, I was just watching nightmare on elm street (the good one). And I was reminded of this. So I looked it up. Surprisingly, his transformation creeped me out more than the entire Nightmare movie. Talk about emotional scars lol (I'm also 17, btw)
I always wanted Jekyll to continue his lecture, he came off as so intelligent, deep and seasoned. I wanted him to tell about the house and why he was there.
I wished he could have spoken a few more minutes before drinking.
Leonard Nimoys laugh = Jesus.
Mr Hydes face put me in a coma. Incredibly frightening.
I remember watching this movie when I was a kid. I never read the credits as a kid, and I didn't know that Mr. Spock did the voice of jeckyll and hyde! The evil laugh is awesome. I'll never look at Spock the same way again lol. Peace out!
I never saw this movie as a kid. After reading all the comments I'm beginning to think I missed out on something. This scene really seems to have had some impact.
I don't know what causes it, but the sound on many youtube videos is slightly higher. If you listen to the voices on this video vs the movie it sounds higher on here. I have noticed this with different videos on youtube. Guess it's the player!
The part when Mr. Hyde was creeping closer and hiding his face all laughin and finally says/yells 'My name is...MR.HYYYDEE!' always creeped me out, scared me. Hahaha
