  • I was terrified by this part as a kid.. Mr. Hyde almost made me cry

  • SPOCK? Wow, you never make the connection as a kid. This movie was fabulous!

  • The Raven quotes 'NEVER MORE!!!' as it flys down at them. This is a refrence to the horror poem by edgar allan poe - The Raven

  • I saw this movie when i was a kid, and i still remember having the living crap scared out of me, especially when he turned around saying "my name is... MR HYDE!" i would scream my ass off at the tv screen, "TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!"

  • Oh what a range of voices the hairs on the back of my neck just stood up. That laugh the tone of menace oohhhh brilliant LLAP LN

  • While I still have fond memories of being horrified by this scene in particular, I found this whole movie scarier then a lot of animated movies I'd seen before then.

  • jesus look at that smile on his face while he's in the chain it's crazy :O

  • that look when the candle falls by his face.. i'm gonna have nightmares *shudder*

  • used to scare the shit outta me!

  • Every time that kid brings up a statistic, I wanna suckerpunch him...is that just me?

  • I just read the book ^^ Then I remembered this film.

  • omfg this still scares the living shit out of me

  • I remeber this film xD me and my bf were trying to fins it and we where putting book master and library master and then we asked my brother he came in and said page master and went back out and we were sitting their for 20-10mins looking for it xDDD

  • I remember watching this film as a kid and this scene is one I distinctly remember, Mr Hyde used to scare the living daylights out of me and I hid behind the safety of my pillow :P

  • I remembered when I watched this when I was a kid. Mr Hyde was so scary! O_O Especially when Jekyll turns into Hyde...

  • @SameTenshi1994 oh my god i know...

  • I always found it weird why, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde are both here, so does that mean that they are in the fictional world that appears in the book? Or is it just Jekyll and Hyde? (and an extremely large mansion). Is Mr. Utterson there too? Is this in their world? Meh, it's really hard to understand.

You get a tingly feeling from thinking about it, thinking of Jekyll and Hyde, who are from a different world, in THIS world, even though it's still them.

I wonder if anyone knows what I mean.

  • @Carnage1235 I know what you mean, and it is kind of weird .

  • This was sooo scary for me when I was little.... of course I didn't know that it was Spock's voice at the time... :)

  • 1:30-1:38

I want an animated GIF of that.

  • Naw, I wanna give Horror a BIG hug... he's so loveable and misunderstood...

  • yeah...like the hulk! lol

  • this whole movie was epic!! and this scene still freaks me out

  • when i was little Hyde really scared me XD

  • You should read the book...Mr Hyde still scares me! lol

  • I bet XP I'll look into it ^^

  • that part of the film of freaking scary 0.0

  • Reminds me a lot of Fredric March's version :D just luv this movie!

  • I miss this movie! It was an amazing story!! <3

  • I'm almost 19 and I still have the occasional nightmare about this.

Even thought it scared me shitless as a kid I loved it!

  • ow snap it's the same with me xD mr hyde's ugly face kept me sleeping with the lights on for years xD

  • best bit in the movie. so awesome.

  • woopie goldberg makes a good voice over

  • Nightmare fuel!!!

  • I realise this movie is a children's film but this is the best adaptation of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde i've ever seen. It's very accurate to the book and really shows the difference between the good dr jekyll and evil mr hyde.

  • I grew up with this movie. I've become a huge Nimoy fan and realizing that I grew up with his voice from this movie makes me laugh a little. XD Thanks for uploading.

  • I have never seen this movie. His voice sounds quite different in this work. I woud never guess it is Nimoy! But he's fantastic, as always.

  • The only thing I remember from this movie is that the transformation to Mr. Hyde scared the shit out of me as a kid.

  • Lol! Me too! That is why I am watching this now.

The only thing I remember from this movie, vividly, is when he says "My name is...Mr HYDE!!!" I remember being scared shitless, mostly because the volume was loud. Little kid + Loud noise + Scary image = One traumatized kid. I just spent 15 minutes trying to remember the name of this movie just so I could watch this and reminisce. :P

  • If anything, that scene taught me as a kid to NEVER ingest strange liquids, or else this very terror would commence. Now that I think back on it, that was one hell of an (alcoholic?) drink that Dr. Jekyll brewed up. It can burn through floors, turn fire green, and make its ingestor turn into a bestial psychopath!

  • This part used to terrify me when I was a kid. X)

  • I hardly recoginize his voice in this :-\

  • Can you believe that this movie had the voice talents of Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, Christopher Lloyd and Frank Welker, who have all worked on Star Trek in one of its incarnations.

  • This still scares me after all these years...

  • Amazing movie! <3 I watched this movie almost every day as a kid and I still love it.

  • its the theme of the book

  • Adventure is voiced by Patrick Stewart!!

  • Never more.

Love the fact The Raven was there

  • Gotta love the Poe reference :o]

  • thanks a lot for this vid. ;)

  • haven't seen this movie for years, and it this scene still scares me, and I'm 17 now..

  • same this scenes nuts

  • lol, I was just watching nightmare on elm street (the good one). And I was reminded of this. So I looked it up. Surprisingly, his transformation creeped me out more than the entire Nightmare movie. Talk about emotional scars lol (I'm also 17, btw)

  • I grew up with this movie and loved it. =)

This part used to terrify me. Since becoming a Nimoy fan and just growing up becoming less afraid afraid, I love this part.

I hope that made some sense. XD

  • This part used to scare me so much, i ran under the couch and covered my ears when it came on!

  • this part used to scare the shit outta me lol but i loved it all the same it was my favorite movie as a kid

  • I always wanted Jekyll to continue his lecture, he came off as so intelligent, deep and seasoned. I wanted him to tell about the house and why he was there.

I wished he could have spoken a few more minutes before drinking.

    Leonard Nimoys laugh = Jesus.

Mr Hydes face put me in a coma. Incredibly frightening.

  • i really enjoyed your comment

  • Why thank you misskitty, I enjoy your compliment.

    :)

  • @vicetube This scene is the only one I can ever remember actually screaming about as a kid. Yeesh that face!

  • live long and prosper

    or in this case

    fear long and horror

  • ok i think this is a Disney movie lol you cant tell can you . its an awesome movie with a good msg. thank you for posting.

  • It's actually 20th century fox.

  • I actually think that the actual interpretation of Hyde...

He's not as ugly as that. But he still is ugly.. Just a wee bit easier on the eyes and not as obvious LOL

  • I don't remember what I did when Mr. Hyde showed up. [...]

Maybe I passed out? Naw, just kidding. I was most likely fine with it. I was an odd child. I loved the whole physical transformation mojo.

    Thanks for posting this! :)

  • Oh man, I used to hide in the bathroom when Mr Hyde came.

I thought he couldn't get me if I hid there. ;)

  • the part where he shows hes ugly face i as a kid used to hide bihind the couch

  • I remember watching this movie when I was a kid. I never read the credits as a kid, and I didn't know that Mr. Spock did the voice of jeckyll and hyde! The evil laugh is awesome. I'll never look at Spock the same way again lol. Peace out!

  • I never saw this movie as a kid. After reading all the comments I'm beginning to think I missed out on something. This scene really seems to have had some impact.

  • I don't know what causes it, but the sound on many youtube videos is slightly higher. If you listen to the voices on this video vs the movie it sounds higher on here. I have noticed this with different videos on youtube. Guess it's the player!

  • Oh my god I almost always pooped my pants when he says MR, HYDE!!!!

  • HAHA Same Here!

  • Haha, Nimoy's evil laugh is awsome!

  • 5:17

    I shat a brick house.

This movie is proof that the 90's were superior.

  • Ahahahaaaaa! Pure comedy gold. Powerful scene this one is.

  • The part when Mr. Hyde was creeping closer and hiding his face all laughin and finally says/yells 'My name is...MR.HYYYDEE!' always creeped me out, scared me. Hahaha
