if everything was about strait lines, then all the world would care about is NHRA. It's not about power, or handling either. It's about how a car does in all these components. If you want something that's great solely for drag strips, then no, you don't get a scooby. No but you can modify it to 1400hp (.5 seconds faster than a Bugatti Veyron) for fractions of the cost (in the 300k-400k range, so the price of some nice luxury sports cars). That's with the original 2.5L 4-cylinder Subaru BOXER engine. And they last forever and are safe :). Awesome cars engineered quite amazingly. Not to mention it probably has one of the best AWD systems in the world. And good gas mileage.

@Tsteve08 It's called rev-matching. It gets the engine rpm up for smoother downshifts. Fourth pedal is probably a foot rest...... not really a pedal at all.

The STi is about as close as you can get to a race car for under 50,000 from the factory

When you see BHP it means Horsepower @ the flywheel-now WHP (wheel horse power) is what a car really puts down.

This is the a special version of the regular sti's motor that develops 30 more hp and 101 ft over stock. Its the same motor that is in the Subaru STi RA-R.

330hp and 410ft/lbs. It has an ingenious Awd system with brembo brakes. On a race track its going to beat a crudely engineered overpowered corvette. What surprised me was the performance of the lambo.

a technique drivers should get down for track racing, is Rev matching. he has the clutch in so the car is in neutrul to engadge the brake and he slighty touches the gas to give it a rev between down shifts for a smooth down shift. Don't over rev or you will destroy your car. If you are not used to driving stick daily, it is pretty hard to accomplish.

the driver of the impreza is the only one who is heel-toe shifting which gives him a little bit of an advantage since the gt-r and the z06 didn't down shift to a faster gear for exiting turns.

Though as a huge GT-R fan it wasn't nice to c it got stuck behind the Z06 all the time but to be fair i think the outcome is fair. Yes the track offer limited passing chances but if the car is fast enough or powerful enough then it should've overtook the Z06 on the corner exit which it fails to do number of times. So bottom line is that the Z-tune is just not powerful enough and perhaps light enough against the others.

if you really are interested, it took me about 2 hrs to learn katakana and hiragana, as in, 12yrs later it still remains in my head. spoken japanese is about the easiest language Ive dealt with, and it was language #6 for me (written japanese is not so easy!). it helps as the people there are so friendly... its not like walking into a redneck bar as an asian and expecting to make friends.
