@matthewmspace Jailbreaking cannot brick your 4S or anything. If anything happens to it, you can just restore. Do note that if you install something that for instance"overclocks" your phone or something, then the battery will take a big hit.

At my local AT&T store, the reps actually have jailbroken iPhone 4 devices. Maybe we could ask them the risks and they could set my parents straight.
