notice how jerry does'nt have to put any pffft! on his strings. OR, constantly flib and flab at his amp. OR, try to add a dramatic head snap on the off beat. OR, constantly fiddle faddle with various, knobs, buttons, switches, do-hickeys or what-cha-macallits while he plays. Ever notice how jerry will make AN adjustment, and you notice the ever-so-slight difference, yet weir makes twenty-two hundred "adjustments' PER SONG and you never hear any difference what-so-ever in the dilly dally dirge.

I do not go to see this band they call furthur simply because there is no reason to go. I spent many a night and miles checking out the dead 380 times with garcia there is no reason to go and see some dude try to imitate garcia. The beatles and the other covers they do are good just leave jerry"s tunes alone.Did the band do operator,easy wind pigless?

@casualtySR Jerry never did have big issues with his equipment,every now and then he would blow a speaker,maybe break a string about every 400 shows,garcia also was always plugged in to his amp,something that weir did not do,he went cordless.Another reason weir had trouble with his stuff was healy like to mess with weir from the mixer which got weir pretty pissed off .Now go pretend to act like you know what you are talking about.

Basically yeah. There are tons of silicon based substances, "Fret Fast" is a common one, that you can wipe on your acoustic strings (especially while plugged in) so you don't get that lout 'pfffffft" sound when you slide, release, etc...

Jerry for some reason looks older here then he does on the dvd from the same time. Phil is having a great time like always. Gosh I love this band!

So thrilling 2 see real pro's (any field) do their v best work, everyone & everything "in the zone," & 2 share (2nd-hand) their joy in the doing.

But it's also a thrill (different ways) to see them work things out, 2 witness the tinkering under the hood.

I suspect it takes great trust 4 artists 2 let fans see that part of their work.

If so, I'm so grateful they've chosen 2 let us into this.
