It was a complete disaster, her TV show failed, until Larry stepped in in 2008 "Blackout" wasn't doing very well she was a mess. What you have here now is Papa Spears controllinng Britney and Larry calling the shots with both parents kissing his ass.

Artists have managers who work for them but if you notice in Britney's case whenever Larry Rudolph WASN"T her manager she was a complete mess and her career was in the shitter hence the failure (by rec. label standards) of Blackout.
