Is there more to life? We don't have all the answers but we're learning a little more and more each day. I don't think it hurts to go on an alpha course, you can learn a lot. It doesn't say you have to become a christian at the end of it, but it can clear up some common preconceptions about christianity. I'd recommend it. Take some time to read books against and for christianity and make your own mind up. Some people grow up being hostile to christianity and don't try and make their own judgment by comparing the facts. Take a tolerant approach, don't be rude as you're attacking people's beliefs.

But it is Alpha that is hostile to atheism. Go to an alpha "course" and take the atheist position and see what happens. If you persist you will be isolated and not allowed to interact with the majority during group break out sessions and you will be given little or no opportunity to speak after the first week. If you are having an influential effect on others you may even be asked to leave.

This advert continues to interest me, because it shows how Christians trivialise the processes of a natural human life. Life for the atheist is not some monotonous treadmill leading to death, but a vibrant and enjoyable experience that should be celebrated in its cosmic significance. I think it also shows the underlying fear Christians have for the fact that they want to feel more significant than just living and dying.

I'm happy just being human and the rollercoaster it inevitably becomes.

i have experienced life wiothout God and it is monotonous, hard and incredibly dull. you may think your life is exciting, but you haven't had God in it yet. The proof that the Bible is still able to be used today is archeologist use it to look for where aincent citys exsisted. Look in Barcelona's Sagrada Familia for a symbol of the Alpha being the mirror image of Jesus Omega, the shape of His Resurrection cave mouth. The Alpha is, of course, the barred pyramid apartheid heresy, Isaiah2.2 bans it. The pyramid apex must be abstract higher order, of Trinity.

Conclusion: The Alpha Course must change its name.

They believe in God because of other prompts, such as their view on Jesus or they've had a spiritual awakening / enlightenment / miracle etc of some sort, or another reason.

This certainly is an engaging video, the problem is while it may, to some extent, encapsulate what young people may perceive to be a facile attitude towards life, it does nothing to encourage any independent thought. Yes there is more to life than this, there's a wealth of beauty, experience profound and otherwise to be enjoyed. There's science, literature, art and human relationships, none of which require a religion to be enjoyed.

Christians believe that there is more to life than the 70 odd years you might get here and that life can be better now and can continue beyond death.
