Alright. I know this defeats the purpose of this whole video, but if I wanted something all sparkly and pretty looking on my netbook, I'd just use Windowblinds and be done with it. Never slowed down my machine.

I just installed w7 on my eee 1001px as well. But the lan driver provided on asus website doesnt work. It ways "device cannot start". and the wireless card isnt being displayed in the devicemanager at all. Any of that happend to you guys? I recently dropped my pc on the floor, it might have broken it :/

Of course Win7 works on it. I even managed to install Win7 Pro on a 7 year old Dell PC.

People seem to have problems with drivers sometimes but there are ways to use XP drivers on Win7 as well ;o) I did it with old graphic card drivers from dell.

i just try it on asus eee pc 1005ha thats good but my logon screen looks like winodows vista...

@nokosmans It Appears in the resolutions 1024 x 768 and above but we have the resolution of 1024 x 600.

@123zkate yes google chrome and opera are the best browsers for netbooks and they are the fastest browser around !

@stoevi11 Go update your windows score in system properties and update your driver from windows update. Note: Aero doesn't work in Windows 7 Starter.

Hi faryaab1, I Am from ensenada, mexico and i just have an eeepc exactly w/ the same especifications with windows 7 ultimate, but is red color, aero works even with flip 3D (ctrl+win+tab), and the boot screen is the same as yours, so, have you found any fix for that?

if you have, please tell it to me, i want windows 7 with all its features....

If u have the asus like mine go to the system properties and update your windows score that might help or install the latest video driver.

i have an acer aspire one d150

and i installed windows 7 ultimate on it.

it runs really well.

i have the exact same specs. only thing different is that i have 2gb ram.

i totally reccomend upgrading to win 7

No its not at all laggy. its perfect and fast frpm xp i absolutely recommend it.and i ran the setup from another partition i have done a custom install.........

I've heard that the 1005HA battery can last for 10.5 hours on low power settings.

There are 3 batterys for 1005ha.

1.3 cell

2.6 cell 48 watt 8.5hrs

3.6 cell 64 watt 10.5hrs

I want to do this so bad but I have been doing research and so far for eee pcs, They get about an hour less battery life in windows 7 than they did in windows xp, this is make or break for me. Anybody know this is true?

Yes u get less but if u set the setting to power plan you will get the same.But if you set it to high performance the difference is about half an hour.

depends on what windows 7 distro you have. If you use the starter version it's the same battery.

If you use the home premium it'll probably be a little less baterry and if you use ultimate you'll probably get 1 hour less battery life

That doesn't make to much sense. I understand that starter may have the same battery but home premium and ultimate should be the exact same. I have ultimate windows 7 on my eee pc now and it gets about the same (Maybe even a little more) than XP sp3 after you update the BIOS and drivers.

Im happy with windows 7 on my netbook. It lasts all day charged

i wanna buy it but does it appear some problems when you upgrade it to win7 ?.. you know when you need to instal drivers for the incompatible hardware... and its the seashell or the common one ?

I Recommend it!!! dont upgrade it do a custom install because it has a restore partition and its xp thats why do a custom install.All the hardware is compatible but download all the drivers from asus website.

The animated Windows 7 boot screen doesn't work on these netbooks because it requires a minimum resolution of 1024x768, and these netbooks only have a resolution of 1024x600, so the bootscreen reverts to the Vista one.
