i rode this last year and i closed my eyes for the ghost part lol. something annoyed me b4 that tho. we were at epcot b4 mgm, and we ate at china. my dad left his credit card there, so my sis and i had to get out of line (when we were almost inside the hotel) and help my dad get his credit card back. we did get it back, but it was a huge waste of time. anyways AWESOME RIDE!! this ride is actually better in eurodisney rather than in florida (possibly the only thing in euro that is better than disneyworld)- the initial drop is longer as well as the bounce back and the the ride on the whole is longer. This ride was a major disappointment to our whole family . Could of been so good . Just a Disney attempt to compete for the teen thrill market . Can get the same sensation at a county fair ride. Worse part they go through all this effort to put you in an atmosphere of the 30's , in a haunted TZ hotel in a lightening storm and then wham this window flies open and you see the bright sunny 2006 parking lot . ???? When we got there at MGM, they got me on somehow.

I was really scared/nervous before the ride began, but when it was actually dropping, it wasn't that bad. I guess, just the scene they create for the ride was really what worried me.

i just got back from disneyworld in orlando with my 7th grade and 8th graders and i rode on it for the first time i was in a group so i went with some of my friends and i was like oh shit when the doors opened but we went up for a couple seconds then we dropped. It was fun and awesome so was everest and rock n' rollercoaster but just some adviceifur in the front row KEEP UR HANDS UP THE WHOLE RIDE BECUASE IF U DON'T WEN U GO UP U WILL KINDA JUMP UP!!!! I went to Disney World this past summer and went on this ride 4 times. love it.

You're taken up, open the doors and you see the people who disappeared. then you ascend again and see a window that shatters. Then you are taken through "the twilight zone." After that, the car is locked into place and then you are either dropped or taken up; the ride is different every time. I remember being taken up first, dropped first, and sometimes the car shook back and forth. The door at the top did open.

I thought something was different. I took my niece to Disney World and I remember that when the elevator made its first stop, you see the people that disappeared that night. Then when the elevator ascended and the door opened the second time, you see what looks like space and an eye in the middle. Then the last time the elevator doors, the car moved along until the doors opened and for a split second you saw MGM Studio, until the doors closed and the car dropped. This was in 1999

And right before the elevator started to drop, I think there was an image of a night sky and a twinkling sound, and then the doors opened and you could see MGM Studio for a second - what a terrifying moment. But I haven't seen a video that captures the moment when the doors open.

@phantomangel21 The ride changes randomly every time you ride it. It picks random shows (like the ghosts in the hallway or the mirror) and it randomly picks drops and speeds. So one time it might take you up right at the start, and the next it might start with a giant drop. You'll never know what the ride will be like the next time you ride it. The one at Disneyland Resort Paris is different as well technically.

well just to let you know elevators are VERY SAFE, they are built so they cant free fall or anything and wont go out of control. they have ALOT of safety devices on it.  They built this ride because a real elevator wont ever do this, so they let us feel what it would be like. Only if a real one did this I dont they would be laughing like they do on the ride.
