  • Есть что-то в этом старославянское.

  • Yes but the song it's from Tommy Roe not from the Archies ! !

  • @NetGamingSolutions Certainly the original release of the song was by Tommy Roe, which I also have. I chose to use this later recording by the Archies due to its superior production quality. It is true to the original arrangement of the Tommy Roe song, so they sound quite similar and can be easily confused with each other. Cheers!

  • Very interesting. Never seen anything like it before.

  • A rotating square of rotating circles.... roit.

  • @2008portobello Thanks for checking it out Laura! Cheers, Brett.

  • what do you use to make thee initial movement? Is your art battery operated or electric. Love It!

  • @scotty1269 Hi Scotty. The sculptures are all motor driven via a transformer which plugs into a standard wall socket. They range from about 3 to 12 volts to function. Thanks for your interest, glad you enjoyed them! Cheers, Brett.

  • so does this go on forever or do you gatta spin it every once in a while?

  • 'This children is what we believe clocks used to look like'

  • Wonderful sculptures. But you know, there are these things called "tripods", and they really help the quality of your videos...

  • @saccadecom Hi, glad you like the sculptures. Yes, I have been alerted to "tripods" many times, and "polarizers" for removing reflections, "high resolution" digital camera's, and taking some "pride" in my video's, all things that I will endeavor to do better in future to produce better films. Thanks for commenting, cheers, Brett.

  • super cool!

  • @pipzzart Thanks for stopping by Pip. Cheers, Brett.

  • @MechanicalSculptor No probs. I really enjoy your work :)

  • This is what needs to be in art museums. Not the freakin mona lisa.

  • @snowman4839 Haha, I'll call the Louvre and see if they want to do a trade! Thanks for the entertaining comment, glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers.

  • @gresiu7 Cheers my friend, glad you enjoyed!

  • Magnifique!

  • @Durgakalim Thank you Alessandro, much appreciated!

  • These are amazing. I'd love one of these!

  • @FiveofHearts1 Thank you FiveofHearts1, pleased that you enjoy my work. They are not cheap in terms of paying money for something to hang on the wall, but not dear in terms of art. Nobody has ever heard of me, and are currently priced accordingly. Thanks for the compliment, much appreciated! Brett.

  • So you do sell them...

What do they usually sell for around?

And have you considered building kits so people can order them and have them shipped to build themselves?

  • @Iandmacb Hi my friend. I sell them when I have the time to build them, currently I have none for sale. It was actually suggested to me once before to put a kit out there. All of my sculptures are one off's, but if I build a design that I like enough, and would break down easily into kit form, then I think it's a very good idea. Thanks for taking an interest, I like the way you think! Cheers, Brett.

  • Amazing work Brett, how do I go about buying one of these??

  • @o0gey Hi o0gey. Unfortunately, the work has all been sold, and I haven't yet pulled my finger out and built some new stuff, but I will be starting very soon, though it is going to be a while before I have some work ready to sell. If you would like, PM me your email address and I will add you to my mailing list, to notify you when some new stuff is ready? Thanks for the interest my friend and for the compliment also, I'm pleased that you enjoy my work. Cheers, Brett.

  • Cool sculptures...

But could it be video'd with a tripod, and can you lay off the editing? I would like to see the "exploding frame" without the jerky looped video.

  • @eyebum Thanks eyebum. My very old digital camera flickers for some reason, and only takes 15 second films. So when I was looping the film to extend it, I decided to edit out much of the flickering as well. The original, unedited film can be seen on my channel page. Cheers, Brett.

  • @MechanicalSculptor

Well I guess the best thing would be for me to see it in person! Where are these at?

  • @eyebum Apology's my friend, all of the work is now in the hands of private collectors. I very much appreciate your interest though. All the best, Brett.

  • Oh, my heart sings when I see your art. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • magic little parts:)

  • Pretty cool stuff. I think the third one is the best.

  • Eres muy creativo!

Tus piezas bailan al son de la música.

    Por cierto, todas son circulares.-

    ¡Me ha gustado mucho!

    Un saludo,

    Elsa

  • good stuff!

  • Excellent work!!

  • @Portogallo3008 Thanks for taking a look Edson, pleased that you enjoyed! Best wishes, Brett.

  • Next time, may I suggest a tripod... and or run an image stabilization software on it. I like the video but the constant shaking makes me ill. Also, a polarizer and or cut out black foam card to shoot through would remove the distracting reflections too. Love the content, not the film work.

  • that's some cool creativity

  • awesome

  • I wonder how much it takes to maintain these pieces seeing as they have so many moving parts.

  • @monitor301 Thanks for taking a look my friend. Most of the moving parts run on roller bearings, and I have taken care to reduce friction as much as possible on other greased or oiled parts. No maintenance is required, though after X amount of years, like any mechanical object, I would imagine some of them would need a rebuild depending on how much use they have had. All the best, Brett.

  • AWESOME!

Very Intuative work Brett looks great

  • Uauuuuuuu!!!Super!!! Congratulations for a good idea. Hugs, Solange

  • FANTASTIC!!! Love it!

  • Hey Brett how long does it take to create one? For example, 0:38 AWESOME!!!

  • @ghap4a Thanks Judy. That sculpture took about 8 weeks to build, one of my more complicated. Now that I feel that I know my art much better and have refined my building techniques somewhat, I think that I could probably build another one like it in under 6 weeks. Thanks for taking such an interest, cheers, Brett.

  • this is pretty cool!

  • thx for sharing this. I like the exploding frame! If only it can lingers for a while while it's on its 'normal frame' state, then explode... will be more dramatic

  • @rochelimit55555 It's a great idea Rizky. It would need a switch to turn itself off in the right place, and then a timer which turns it back on again. Very good idea, wouldn't be too hard to do. Thank you my friend.

  • Incredible work. Are the gears laser cut?

  • Without words! You're the best!

    Congratulations! I love music, too.

This gem is in my favorites, now :)

Delightful viewing pleasure. A huge tribute to you.

Thank you for caring to share your wonderful kinetic art sculpture.

  • Excellent!

  • Brett, these are wonderful! So innovative and unique. Really enjoyed seeing the video. Jill

  • @ajillart Hi Jill, very happy that you enjoyed. Thanks for the lovely comment! Best wishes, Brett.

  • fantastic!

  • Lovely, clever stuff!

    1) in the first sculpture, where is the outer gear carrier hiding? Is the video just too low-rez to pick up that detail, or is it behind the black background?

    2) what kind of durability do you get with the wooden gearing, and what kinds of wood do you use? I know these cogs are dealing with very light loads, but those are some pretty fine teeth.

  • @rcousine Hi Ryan. All of the outer gears are mounted on a large gear behind them (painted black). The center gear is on an axle which runs through a bearing in the center of the large gear. A series of hidden gears (mostly behind the backboard) run both of these gears to drive the sculpture.Durability isn't a problem, Merciful is loaded up fairly heavily as it requires friction to saw, but no problems with the teeth at all. I use 15mm plywood as it is glued together cross-grained.Cheers, Brett.

  • Great sculptures!!!

    Nice video ;)

    Kisses!
