hay great video... i no this might be a stupid question but could you possibly tell me what application your useing its the one in the middle of next to text edit and preview.
hey DRRBUK, idk if u know this already but there is also a new feature that when you minimize an application, it minimizes into the application, not as a separate window in the dock. This feature can be accessed in system preferences under the dock, just check the box.
Tell me what u think of the feature because i think it is brilliant
Ya my mouse works as well, but i cant customize the buttons. All the functionality of the buttons have changed. They do different things now. And some do nothing at all.
ahh i c, ye ur right, well my mx revolution mouse works, btu cause the control centre/set point software hasnt been updated for Snow leopard i cant customise the other buttons on the mouse, i emailed logitech so its just a waiting game....quite inconvenient !
@garethhallnz App-specific Exposé (F10) has actually been out since Exposé has been in existence, since Panther. But Dock Exposé is new to Snow Leopard. That may be what he's referring to.
its very similar to how 7 shows thumbnails of running windows within apps.... but i wouldnt b surprised if Apple thought of this idea 1st n MS some how found out what they were do'n n COPIED!!!
All companies copy from each other, its how technology evolves, you'd be quite surprised how some elements in Leopard are stolen from other Operating Systems... Its competition between different companies...
You had no valid reason to presume that it was copied, its one of them things you have to keep to yourself really. =|
Think logically in a form of companies competing of using elements.
yea, i know that Leopard copied "spaces" from Linux but thats the only thing that i can c... what else do u think Leopard copied hah? n btw, whilst it may b tru that not ALL features in Mac OS X were thought of by Apple, there's A HECK of a lot of features that were copied from OS X to make vista.. even the scroll bar on vista looks similar to the aqua scroll bars on Mac OS X ... pathetic!
I agree with you DRBUK refinements just prove the attention to detail that apple put into their operating system...refinements are a visual of that so we can see first hand what they are thinking
Exposé of an application was in Leopard, tiger, and panther. now I think that its really useful in the dock but I have assigned it to a key and been using that for years. just saying that it has been there.
haha please apple. These can all be done at Software Update. To be honest I don't really want 10.6, it doesnt as explosive/amazing as from 10.4 to 10.5. I guess Apple knows it and thats why is 29 bucks. 10.5.7 is already has a lot of refinements, good enough for me ;) Cheers
You do know that in 10.5 expose let's you just see active windows from a certain app this feature has been here since 10.3! & has not just been added :)
It's activated by Control+Expose. But dannewashere was right, its only you're active app, you cant choose which app is the one that shows all it's windows.
For me I would rather apple not include "gimmicky" features in finder but rather add features that users would actually use like real cut and paste (not the annoying command drag move drop cut and paste).
What do you mean "Real Copy and Paste" it can be done exactly the same as on a Windows or Linux PC... (Not trying to start an arguement, just wondering what you mean.)
I dont think anyone said anything about "copy and paste". Reading the comments I see someone make a comment about "real cut and paste". As far as I'm aware, in OSX you cannot cut and paste files and folders.
Yes, I was also talking about how if you want to cut a file to an external drive you have to press command and drag the file at the same time to the destination in the finder, which I find very annoying. I was not talking about text cut and paste, which is easily done on a mac or PC etc.
Sigh. Nobody is talking about copy and paste. Its cutting and pasting of files and folders. xVeXilliuMx misread Nanotech11's comment which clearly says "cut and paste". This is in regards to cutting and pasting of files and folders.
Look 2 hours ago you got a reply explaining that you misread the original post by Nanotech11. He never said copy and paste. He said CUT and paste.
Fine that was 2 hours ago and you missed my comment. 1 hour ago, Nanotech says again that he's NOT talking about copy and paste.
So here you are 18 minutes ago yet again saying copy and paste. Nobody is talking about copy and paste. Nobody cares about copy and paste. CUT and PASTE of files and folders is the issue.
Flipping through the pages of a .pdf in Finder while in Cover Flow view, is not a feature of Snow Leopard, it is in Leopard as well, but the video thing is neat :)
mate ur videos are really good!! i normally dont sit and watch 1 guy just talking about something but not practically showing something but u make ur videos really exciting and make me watch u talking about something and not practically showing!! keep it up!!
Tbh I think Apple hold back on putting certain things in their products so they can put it in the next version of the product. Take the iPhone for example, Why wasn't the ability to record video in the first iPhone?
I think Apple will add the feature later on for local time-strapping. Apple have done a great job so far, well worth £25. We are only 2 days in really many more weeks ahead of minor fixes(if any) and updates.
too much time for a few things, part 3? wtf?

They are there but if you click on them it will say you have to reopen. So i guess it doesn't work.
Logitech works but it won't detect my vx revolution mouse.
Perian fully works but flip4mac doesn't open but maybe it works. I dont have any wmv files to test it with right now.

Also another thing. Most of the stuff in "Other" in system preferences is not compatible in snow leopard.
Logitech Control Center and Perian will work.
Flip4Mac WMV, Growl, istat menus, teleport and witch won't work in snow leopard.

but i have flip4mac and perian in snow leopard under other ? logitech have to update there control centre/setpoint software
