The story clearly shows that Aisha's view is that a woman is to tolerate severe physical abuse by her husband if she is to be pious, but Naik denies it.
Instead, Naik sets up a false comparison as a distraction, suggesting maybe the woman was being beaten in an effort to get her to deny her faith, and Aisha was praising her for not doing so.
Really? Then why no mention ofit? Wouldn't that be, hands down, the most important part of the story to tell? Seriously, who does he think he's kidding.

@fragrantsoul19 Quran says "for those [ wives] on whose part you fear ill-conduct, advise them, forsake them in the bed, and hit them. Then if they obey you do not seek a way against them. "Hit Them" "Strike Them" Beat Them" are all good translations of the arabic word وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ
Same word is also found in these passages (with same meaning, NOT figurative, literal) : Qur'an 2:60,Qur'an 2:73; Qur'an 7:160; Qur'an 8:12; Qur'an 20:77; Qur'an 24:31; Qur'an 26:63; Qur'an 37:93; Qur'an 47:4

i don't know arabic but here zakir naik is telling it means "to beat lightly".and that also is the last ultimate warning from the husband.not that islam allows it as a routine.it's not the first step but the last. Islam says first talk to her politely.If she doesn't quit,cut off the sexual relationship.If she still doesn't stop,THEN beat her.That beating also is not meant to physically torture her but to hurt her mentally and make her realize her mistake.

How is a beating a "warning"? it is beyond warning, it is the man acting as the woman's judge, jury, and executioner. You: "to help her realize her mistake"?!! The bible says that husband and wife should submit to EACH OTHER in love... no gender favourites there! The bible tells stories of rape and other terrible crimes against humans as warnings to NOT do these things. It also tells many beautiful stories, for example of the love and open communication between a king and his low-born wife - AS EQUALS!

Clearly other scriptures show and prove that the man or husband is superior to that of a woman/wife spiritually `as well as morally. islaam came to do the opposite yet the Muslims who do not follow Islaam with understanding have made it appear like this specific Biblical Verse.

The man and the woman were both cursed for disobeying God - the man will have great difficulty and torment in his work, and the woman will have a desire for her husband so strong that she will let him rule over her. God's original intention was for man and women to work side by side, joyfully, as equals (that's why God made Eve out of Adams rib). Jesus as the "second Adam" died to take away these curses for those who believe.
