I think maybe that's a good thing, bro. Maybe ignorance is bliss. I don't want to get older, even if that means I'm naive. I think youth is beautiful no matter what.
Fascinating,I used to listen to this song before going to homecoming with this girl I like.now months afterwards,I'm stuck alone watching her with her boyfriend.this song gives me hope.
These guys are way talented, today's artist's are no good at playing an instrument like these guys do.they sing electronically play instruments electronically i hope everyone agrees to my comments.
Which year did this come ?? i hope should be in the 80's. Anyway i love Alphavillie.wonder where are these bands now. all we today is crap music, all dance type & electronic music, nothing much better like these 80's & 90's music which came in this era.Wish there's a way to go back in time future generations wouldn't know these type of songs, worse shit would come in future i'm sad that these 70's 80's & 90's bands don't come make a public appearance to make the new generation know about them.
@OfficialNAMusic May be u'r one Idiot who impresses computer generated music like today & don't value such music like this,i clearly do know that there's nice music coming out today, the Verve & One Republic,Savage Garden are some examples.but i was referring to Music that has been generated electronically and where the singer has not got much talent in singing & where the lyrics are not soo meaningful.
This is a song about the cold war. Do any of you know what that was? It was living under the constant threat, every moment, of imminent annihilation, knowing it was likely that you would die soon, and die young. "Do you really want to live forever?" is bitterly ironic, and the sweet melody is also ironic. The song was about embracing the existential pain of facing upcoming (and unchosen) death. It speaks to its era, it is understood well by,and speaks to, generation Xers.
@SkullArm Tough you may be right about the song, death is never chosen, we all die, by violence or old in bed, but we never chose our own moment of dying...
@SkullArm well it sounds like hell when you tell it, but there still was great joy and hope espressed in the music, films and art made during the time of the cold war.
@SkullArm Yeah, actually my professor once taught us about Cold War...come to think of the lives of those people who were living in that era. I wonder how did they lived up for themselves in spite of their upcoming fate. :( :( :(
No wonder why I have this odd feeling when I heard this for the first time...I REALLY LOVE THIS! ONE OF MY FAVE SONGS OF THE NEW WAVE! ♥ ♥ ♥
@SkullArm Well said. If I could change anything to what you wrote, I would say that we weren't just facing upcoming and unchosen death, but inevitable death. We were all convinced that we were going to die, and it was just a question of who would launch first and why. The possibility of a nuclear war happening by accident due to one side or the other mis-interpreting what the other was doing was a high one, thanks to the levels of mis-trust and paranoia on both sides.
I just love the sound coming from that organ must go play mine right now!!!

♫ So many adventures couldnt happen today.
So many songs we forgot to play.
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue.
We let them come true.
Forever young, I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever? forever and ever... ♫
