Pau Casals, Mischa Maisky and Anner Bylsma have in common? The magnificent Gofriller cellos. Casals tried a Strad, made an offer for it which was not accepted and he continued playing without regret, the Gofriller that was his concert instrument for over 60 years. I can hear strong tonal similarities between these current superb recordings by Maisky and the much older recordings of Casals.

@Surtak The videos quality is not measured in views, but in the viewer base.. e.g. a very popular video will have a good amount of shallow viewers who listen to it because it is popular, where here you will find people who actually appreciates the music.

I can't imagine another cellist on earth or elsewhere can perform this prelude with such intensity and yet so lyrical and emotional elaboration,even Bach himself could never predict or even dream that this piece wil ever reach this possibility.

@Guitarledgend0123 He actually told someone in an interview (I believe you can find it somewhere on YouTube) that hates quote, "Dressing like a penguin". He prefers to dress however he likes, and often gets a lot of comments about it. In conclusion, he just hates the fact that everyone expects you to wear a suit and a tie if you're a solo cellist.

the no.2 is the one that was made in heaven among the whole 6 of them.and Maisky is the write tool for bringing it out .he captures all the drama and tragic ending for the prelude.incomparable to any living or dead cellist.
