  • The show was canceled because period shows are expensive to produce; that's particularly bad if the ratings aren't there and it's a network show. It might've survived a couple of seasons if it had been syndicated and distributed internationally. I don't think the interracial aspect of the show would have been a problem on the UPN, given that it was nicknamed the "Urban People" Network. In fact, a show about white people in the post-Civil War South would have been a bigger turn off.

  • This version SUCKS!!!! I also wonder why there were two different versions? I mean this was in 1997 or '98 - interracial couples weren't that "taboo" back then all though I do believe that this show got pulled because of the main characters being romantically involved. Shameful. People need to wake up and get with the times. Interracial couples is nothing new and it's not going away!!!!!!

  • The last scene in this clip has two different version. This one where they do not kiss and another version where they kiss passionately. The other version was uploaded by LaTee21 called Legacy. Does anyone know why the two different versions? Of course, I prefer the kissing one. Is this series rerunning on any channels at this time? How did you acquire the eppy?

  • yhh i don't understand why iz there two version'z??

  • The reason for the alternate versions is because of the taboo of interracial relationships in this time period... the series is no longer in syndication... the episodes are available on DVD at ebay

  • @whisenantm80 buuhuuu I cant find the episodes (:
