I recon freebird is becoming a running joke with FotC audiences. It'll be funny if one day they just turn around and do the full version.

They mentioned Freebird, too, at the DC show, but they both claimed to not know it haha. Jemaine said something like "Is it an obligation that someone has to yell out Freebird at every show for every band? Or is it one guy that does it all the time?"

"Freebird" is a song by Lynard Skynard. It's about 13 minutes long and at least half of that is the solo at the end.

That solo's easy and overrated. Not trying to be a jerk but I hate that solo. Flight of the Conchords are awesome.

Yeah I agree.... the solo is very overrated and there are millions upon millions of harder solos out there.
The phrasing for the solo builds up pretty intensely, but it is not hard to play at all.

They did this in Minneapolis too. I thought it was improv because they did it right after a guy in the crowd yelled out "Freebird." Crazy.
