  • I was searching for info on 3rd Squadron & found this video. I was with Troop L in Hersfeld from Dec.70-Dec.71. Tank mechanic. Chaney Phillips

  • @Boneyard007 Chaney thanks for posting. The Web, Youtube and Facebook are great for finding other troopers. For more info check out my 3/14 ACR web page at thedeitz.com

  • Thanks for this video. It brought back a lot of old memories! John Miller HWB 3/11 ACR and K Troop 1980 - 1983

  • @jbmj360 @207nkf thanks john, if you haven't already check our my-our 3rd Squadron web page at thedeitz . com ?

  • Vielen Dank mein Freund, Der Deitz

  • Thank you, very Nice

    Greetingz, Jola

  • Thanks Jola, I'm sorry that we did not meet at this dedication, take care of Hersfeld.

  • Anyone interested in obtaining a Video DVD of my 43 min edited version of this dedication with still photos can email me for more information. My email address can be found by clicking on the (more info) tab top right. Youtube only allows a max of 10 min for a post.

  • After 195 hits I found additional photos and decided to create this revised Dedication clip. Sincere thanks to all for your post, thedeitz 8/24/2009.

    POZ48,

It's nice to know that all the long hours and hard work we put in so many years ago have been recognized with this token of gratitude. The flame of freedom shall never be extinguished as long as there are brave men to guard its borders.

  • gzies1,

I am happy to see that finally, after many years, the men and women of the U.S. Army (3rd/11 and 4th/11 ACR) are being honored and remembered by this monument. Thanks to all those fine soldiers who protected West Germany against the threat from the East (the Russians and Commies) for 42 years! I grew up in Bad Hersfeld during that period and we were always aware of how important our American friends were to our freedom and peace. Thanks for posting this wonderful clip.

  • ghiaclock,
