  • This is great quality and so fascinating, I love these behind the scenes type of clips. Thanks you!

  • The look of the film of David Gilmour playing in the studio is simply amazing

  • "In the finished article the only thing that is important is if it moves you or not", Thank you Roger Waters.

  • Pete Towhshend and Roger Waters ..Smartest men in Rock

  • And AFIK they weren't even IN Abbey Road, it was a studio in Paris France that was used for the "Live at Pompeii" stuff that wasn't filmed in the actual amphitheatre... However as this was added 2 years after release, maybe this IS abbey road but it's still staged and not from the actual DSOTM Recording sessions...

  • The Eagle I think did land, but I do believe that evidence if it not occurring can be proven. Like those clips of the Eagle landing bon the moon, this images don't look real lime at 6:43 thats one small ship and one huge stage

  • Que sexy y guapo era David en los 70's.

    el baterista tambien esta lindo.

  • They did produce works of art that in the music industry have never been equalled.

  • I'm not entirely sure these are "staged", i know roger's synthesizer part is bogus, but i think this was in the finishing stages... ie. overdubs and such, here they obviously don't use this whole guitar part, but they use the little end flourishes from time to time.

  • @boonexy Nope... The whole of the Dark SIde recordings were complete and they were simply in mixing... ALL of the "studio in France segments" were done simply for this movie. Still one of the greatest music DVD's ever made aye. Floyd is like no other....

  • @4rescue no i understand and would tend to agree, but the France sections were live performances for the film, ie careful with that axe and such, but as for the rest, i'll have to go re-read that section in mason's book

  • Listen to that guy shred!!!

  • From 5:25 onwards is just divine.

  • @jnicothomas I agree, it's so beautiful the way the camera just drifts past Gilmour and all those keyboards as he adds those little notes. Just think, only a few years earlier, the Beatles might've been in that same room

  • @jennifersman i think the beatles were done by then, but paul mccartney was recording with Wings =]

  • @jennifersman oh shit my bad you said earlier, yeah if this is 1973 then yeah =]

  • What a truly incredible group of artists; they're also gentlemen.

The music they created remains on another level.

    They're the elite; a connoisseur's choice.

So sad how like the Laurel & Hardy duo, i'll never actually see them perform.

  • Staged like the lunar landing

  • beautiful

  • I was not allowed to watch this until the guy that owned it got some gel tabs....it made no sense that night i think my girl and i were crying through most of it.......i love to see it not all sillied up nowdays and I can still remember most of that musical trip..GAME CHANGER.....he was right of course

  • I love david gilmour's eyes. He is perfect

  • In 2073 people will hear this and comemorate 100 years of The Dark Side of the Moon and anyone will remember Justin Bieber

  • @lucksantistaFC more like there will be a huge celebration of Darkside of the Moon, and i think you meant: and will anybody even remember Justin Bieber in 2 years?

  • leonardo di caprio looks like david gilmour

  • what is the guitar?

  • Christ...

Where would rock and roll be without feedback?

  • You can tell Gilmour has passion for the guitar. That's how it was back then - about talent. The creativity and quality is just not there anymore in today's music. Everyone's after the 3 minute pop songs.

  • Flotd at their best

  • mmm, dave!! that beauty of man

  • anybody know what are saying at the begining ?

  • god damn, gilmour with some tasty licks. geez, it's incredible how melodic his improvisational fills are

  • Holy shit, why is David so hot?

  • 4:43 - 3:51 .. Oh my God.

  • como es que hay 4 personas a las que no le gusta?que mierdaa escuchan, cumbia, regueton??

  • 4:23 "Don't worry bout that, we´re allright, what would Rock And Roll be without of feedback?..."

  • nooooo, Why Gilmour didn't put this part of guitar in the album, it's so amazing !!!

  • @Ballerinakexar if you are using a good headphone you can hear it :D

  • Somebody build a time machine please... ! oh my... Roger Waters... no words.

  • pink floyd make me proud to be a brit

  • 5:56 - 6:02 simply fantastic and 6:25 - 7:00 is the world floydiano.

  • Also..I often wonder what makes Dave smile so big in the one part while hes playing with this guitar.

  • Dave has a look of 'Oh here we go again..." while sitting next to Roger lol

  • one word: beauty.

  • Oh David... Why are you so beautiful and sexy ? That's torture ! *_*

  • 1:34 , epic noise Roger

  • @TheBeatlefloyd hahaha ;D

  • Who is Steve?!

  • @Watchman5169 The Steve Roger's talking about is Steve O'Rourke, Pink Floyd's manager. Hope this helped ya out!

  • what is the effect that dave is using at 3:40? that sounds so cool

  • @hippieinmississippi octaver, wah-wah, and flanger, plsu a little fuzz

  • davidgilmour on 3:00 looks like donna of that 70s show

  • yepp, David Gilmour and Roger Waters, God just doesn't make beauties like them anymore..

  • 1:34 yeshh i watch this video almost daily because its so friggin funny!

  • Waters & the interviewer reminds me of David St. Hubbins talking to Ian Faith

  • Where was Syd Barrett?

  • this music won't die , our grandsons will listen to it ....

  • @LowRider1500 and we are =]

  • @LowRider1500 I'm 17, and I will show this music to MY grand-grandsons if I ever come to have some.

    THIS IS REAL MUSIC.

    Screw nowaday's shit.

  • @LowRider1500 they better haha

  • @LowRider1500 FUCK YEAH MAN!!!!

  • @LowRider1500 my grandson will definitely listen to Pink Floyd !

  • @dorku9 i hope so ...

  • @LowRider1500 I was introduced to this back when I was 8. Floyd is so heavily ingrained in my personality that there's no hope of their music dying as long as I'm around.

  • "the only thing that's important is if it moves you....there's nothing else as important at all" roger waters - around the 2:30 mark. couldn't have said it better myself. no other band brings as much emotion with their music

  • Christ... Where would rock and roll be without feedback? e_e

  • fucking wish they kept the extra guitar in the jam

    sounds fabulous,

    superb,

    EXCELLENT if you will!

  • @tellurideisawesome DG was all about ambience and atmosphere. not too much about speed.

  • Isn;t dave gilmour the coolest person yo uhave ever seen ?

  • was nigel from spinal tap trying to act like roger waters?

  • @blockleg no Jeff beck

  • fast forward to 5:30 and wonder why they didn't include it in the song...

  • The Pink Floyd looked pretty beast back then. Roger and David still being friends and the rest of the band being at their creative peak just makes this footage so much more worth while.

  • Darkside of The Moon is all about madness.

  • Man i wish they would have left this solo in the final cut of the song. It's so fucking awesome. I actually think of it everytime i here this song and wish it was there. I play it along in my head though.

  • His classic "Black Strat" Fender stratocaster

  • @Nate70 Nope, it's actually a Lewis!

  • What guitar has Gilmour's got ???

  • David looks soooo stoned.

  • DAvid is Beautifullll

  • Why were all the those arrengments by Gilmour taken out of the song??

  • hate is a bit strong of a description.perhaps .

  • What Waters says at about 2:30, that there is nothing as important as what moves you, is so right on. And Gilmour's guitar fills? Wow, such terrific stuff.

  • Roger's got the most kickass accent!

  • DLVitt, said it all "dynamics"

that is what makes floyd sound so great. it's all about "sound".

  • HaHa. Gilmore got an attitude. Trying to keep up with Roger.

  • between 5:31 and 6:03 I was in another dimension

  • Roger Waters was the only one who approved/gave consent for "live at pompeii" to be released on DVD. I don't know why David,Rick,And Nick were against it, but thats just what I read. Thank You Roger

  • David Gilmour = BAMF

    oh gilmour, its toppy :D

  • 1:14 Is that them squeaking?

1:34 I love Roger's squeak!!! omg i loovvee this man!

can't wait till they invent time machines, hopefully while I'm alive so I can try to be Mrs. Lacy Waters :)))

  • David- "It must've been as toppy, the only thing it could've possibly been is less toppy,... or.. more toppy!"

    <3 you David!

  • Roger Waters is beautiful.

  • what effect is david using at 3:47 to 3:54?

    its awsome!

  • where i can find tabs for the licks that gilmour starts to play at 4:51 ????

  • Musicians always bicker. It's about passion, not animosity. It wasn't until Wish You Were Here did things start to take a turn. And even then they were still working as a team. With Animals Roger started to dominate.

  • @jwild611:By the time the Wall was released, that's when Roger started to become more distant from the rest of the band.

  • @INDLIS True, but he was all over Animals too in terms of his "my way or the highway" attitude. And the '77 tour only increased it

  • david looks like leonardo dicaprio

  • 0:05 thats when the tension began lol, Rogers pissed.

  • I can't help it, but I fancy Roger so much! He is simply so adorable when smiling...

  • Man I could watch Dave on that chair all day, he was so gorgeous!!!!!

Great clip, really fun to watch.

  • gilmours soul is in his guitar, he is amazing!!

  • david is the most beautiful man i have ever seen .. wow!!

  • Does Alan Parsons ever get mentioned~? He was a apart of making Dark Side so incredible

  • i'd fuck the living shit outta gilmour in 1972!!!!!

  • they are all beautiful. david and nick look so stoned.

those guitar riffs are fantastic. watching all these videos of dave playing have inspired me to start playing again <3

  • The Floyd talking sense

  • all of their pupils are huge!

  • My God, virtually 40 years ago!

  • 3:45 Gilmour still has that smile :P

  • Sounds a bit toppy to me ;o)

  • It fun seeing them all young without their grey hair (:

Indeed the most awesome gathering of musicians ever (:

Pink floyd <3 rest in peace syd barret and richard wright

  • I mean...who else thinks Roger Waters looks sexy as hell here?

  • @343spork jajajajaja

  • @343spork i would do him if i could go back in time ;D

  • It actually makes me kind of mad that they omitted this guitar solo from the original album, but the album is still perfect without it :)

  • @ 4:40 looks like roger's trying to keep from telling dave to fuck off.

  • waters is an asshole for leaving the greatest band on earth

  • @5tonyvvvv OMFG!!! do you have to go on everything Pink Floyd related and repeat this ignorant statement? seriously, I ignored it the first 3 times I spotted it, but now it's just plain obnoxious. Leave Roger alone.

  • fuck man david gilmour was fucking delicious!!!

  • reger looks like shaun white at the beginin

  • david golmour was a real junky hahaha

  • @frixione1234 wtf??? i bet youre joking on that one

  • roger has a very oily face LOL

  • "What would Rock'n Roll be without feedback?"

  • The Bill Lewis guitar!

  • y did they get rid of that great solo???

  • I'm kinda gald they took out the solo, kinda takes away from the song and I know thats why they did it.

  • What the hell does "toppy" mean?

  • I was wondering that meself. :B

  • I love that riff David is playing at about 3:32.

  • lol @ Dave - he looks SO blunt :)

  • shaun white(snow boarder) looks EXACTLY like roger, been saying it for years

  • Thanks a lot! from a life-long Floyd fan, 5*****

  • it's so depressing that NONE of those David's many great licks were used on the album! :( :(

  • christ...where would rock and roll be without feedback

  • what guitar is gilmour using during brain damage

  • @JudyBlueEyez77

it's a bill lewis, bill made this guitar for him!

  • looks like an SG

  • @abermen bill lewis

  • Roger Waters; so beautiful smiling!

  • @rubyrose456 Perfect! ;)

  • Que guapo era Gilmour xD

  • goin in favs....hope it stays there

  • haha same

  • David- "Alright, we all know you're God Almighty, Roger..."

    Roger- *creepy laugh*

Has there been a single moment in history where Waters isn't wearing black? He reminds me of my brother.

  • whichonespink357 mind telling me what time of the video that occurred cuz I keep missing it. BTW, 3:41 is super cute!

  • It's near the end of Brain Damage then you hear their voices but they're off camera. I actually had to watch it a few times to find it again...haha

  • That was actually said by Pink Floyd's late manager Steve O'Rourke whom managed them from 1968 until his 2003 death. God rest his soul. Steve also managed the solo careers of David, Nick and Rick. He fell out with Roger in 1985 after CBS and EMI were pressuring Steve to get PF to do another record. Then Roger quit and proceeded to sue, David, Nick and Steve over the PF banner in 1986/87. Roger got all rights to Animals (save Dogs), The Wall (save the three DG co-penned tunes) and TFC.

  • Ah, I see. Funny nevertheless.

  • @whichonespink357 ahaha i love that laugh

  • I love Gilmore's comment. "Don't worry about that. Christ, where would Rock n Roll be without feedback?" He's such a great guitarist. An absolute master of his instrument

  • Rare statement from any guitarist: "My guitar is too loud." LOL.

  • lol

  • @theaxemeister Hey I say that all the time!!

  • @Adrain30: as I am a guitarist, who knows a number of guitarists, I'm just making fun of our lot.

  • @theaxemeister If you're good, you know when to play loud and when to be quiet.

    Dynamics.

  • @theaxemeister its because Pink Floyd are perfeccionists :)

  • @theaxemeister hah, no he means its too loud for the amp. the guitar knob has to be always to the max when playing, but not in the amp; he must have turned his knob down in the guitar and someone must have changed it thinking it was too low, so when he took it, he realized it was louder than before

  • God bless English!

  • 5:46-5:50 is just the most beautiful thing i'ver ever heard!

  • it sucks that they all hated each other.

  • If that isnt the plain old truth. But after many years Ive begun to accept the notion that it was meant to be this way. Rogers got a chance of showcasing his solo work and Gilmour got to showcase his (under the pink floyd) still. I think the verdict clearly indicated that Gilmours work resonated with the fans more that Waters. And I hope that doesnt sound like Im taking too much away from Waters. They are both one of the worlds greatest musicians who just make it work better together.

  • @ghirsch76 Yes, and Wright got his chance as well(along with Syd around the same time). They all were amazing and definitely unique!

  • they didnt all hate each other. they just fell out with Rog because of his egomaniacle personality.

  • @reioko they didn't hate each other until the wall.

  • @reioko dipshit, they didn't hate each other; Roger and Dave did from 1978 on.. do your research and quit spamming horseshit

  • @jenetik0

Nobody really liked Roger the whole time. But tensions began to really rise around the whole "Animals" scene. So actually '76-'77. Please stop making yourself look dumb please.

  • @reioko:I know.

  • @reioko I don't think that they all hated each other! It's that they had their own very different music and life orientations and well, Waters tried first to force his into the others, but failed and then left the band, which is quite sad... I like Gilmour a lot, but I think that the Floyd without Waters is lacking some depth... It would have been the best if they could have kept together, instead of following separate paths, but that isn't hate. They were angry at each other for a long time

  • @sigelflower:They should've just put aside their differences and work together as a band.

  • @reioko:I know.

  • does anyone know what Gilmour is playing at 3:15

  • pretty sure one of em cheap gibsons as in the time, dont remember the name, pete used one like it for quadro...they have p90s

  • its just some improv.

  • It is Bill Lewis guitar
