  • Thumbs up if the letter "S" in Squeeze broke your ear drums! lol

    Minute 5:00

  • "perfect way to spend christmas day, eating a roast chicken" forever alone :( thanks for the vid :)

  • dude you fucking talk to much

  • u dont put oil on the pann?

  • @DynamicMindLv it's already oiled with olive oil. Not to mention the juice of the chicken will ooze out of the carcass as it cooks

  • i don't know where you get your chickens but we pay .87C to $1.25 lb for chicken. i always have a dozen in the freezer. I go through them at the store so i get at least 5.5- 6lb birds.

with having the smoker now i am trying all sorts of stuff with them. some of my best chickens though are referred to as beer can chickens-very moist and you'll look like the bbq master when you feed everyone! i bbq them on the bbq and also roast them standing up in my oven. FABULOUS results everytime!

  • good video. i roast 6lb chicken twice a week though. i prefer turkey on christmas and thanksgiving. just got a smoker so now i'm trying all sorts of diferent recipes. for my chickens i rub compound butter under the skin, fill the butt up with quarterd lemon, rub all over with bbq spices and olive oil, then i place it upside down on a rack for 20 minutes @500 degrees F then i turn it over and finish at the same temp-usually an hour altogether. you might also baste it half way through the process.

  • yummy yummy for my tummy....ami khaitham sai mmmmmmmm chickeeeeennnn

  • nazism toward animals

  • Thanks Nicholas, i am trying it now :)

  • Thanks Nicko for this great recipe. I made your pizza recipe and it turned out really good... i will try this one! Merry Christmas!!

  • he looks like Jean Claude Van Damme, but a little bet fat with all the food he eat...xD

  • Whats the difference between microwave and micro oven? I only have microwave >.<

  • WTF i eat ham on Christmas and turkey on thanksgiving never ate roast chicken for Christmas..

  • I'm making this for dinner on Saturday and I paid 13 dollars for my chicken.

  • watching this on full screen is food porn ^^

  • Thank you! You've inspired me to cook my first chicken ever this coming Christmas. Or maybe even Thanksgiving since I'm not a huge turkey fan. Good tutorial^^

  • Hey Nikko!!!! i love watching your videos!!, they are so helpful!!! .... i cut my self with a knife cutting the plastic around the chicken lol, its near the my thumbs nuckle,( hope you understand what i mean) i wanted to ask you what do you ussaully do when you get cut? my cut isnt that bad to cal the rescue lol, but your advice would be helpful for the future. Thank you Nikko!!!!!!

  • @therealnazareth best idea i know of to stop the bleeding with cuts, if you have any, grab an ice cube out the freezer and put that on your cut it will seal very quickly

  • @MaZEEZaM thats so cool, i will try that if it ever happens again hopefully not lol, thanx!

  • you're cute :)

  • You have a gorgeous accent. Great video, by the way. :)

  • @Cance251 - He's aussie! I'll bet my money on it, lol.

  • his voice was at this time much sexier than now

  • mallet head

  • Onepotchef did his roast chicken better just saying

  • Are you cooking Celsius or Fahrenheit? I just cooked a chicken in a "convection oven" on 350 for 1hr, 15min, and the thigh leg joint was still not done!!! *sigh*

  • @wifey231 need a good 2hrs i would say.

  • @wifey231 For those of us with Fahrenheit ovens, this roughly translates to 425. Hope this helps!

  • @wifey231 they always use Celsius scale in Australia:p..so everytime he tells u the oven's temp, assume its C not F:)

  • @wifey231 n 350 is too low a temp for cooking a full bird..u should at least cook it at 200C, 220C is a bit too high in my opinion, that y one side of his chicken looks a bit burnt..ill try 210C:p

  • This dude has gotten fatter and louder over the years.

  • what's the purpose of lemon ? does it tenderise ? my max heat is 250 degree. how long should it be in the oven ?

  • @prettymel66

It's just for taste, a roasted chicken like that always needs lemon imo

It just adds some freshness to the chicken that normally would just have a spicy taste from the pepper spices you use, i think you'll like it much more with lemon than you would without it.

  • your aussie right?

  • OMG HE GAVE ME THE FINGER!!! 7:30 :P

  • he said "we've got 2 large breasts, which is always good to look for." at 1:39

  • 220 degree oven is a moderately high heat? cook at that for 45 min to 1 hour? are you talking celsius? that would explain it. no way 220 F would cook a chicken that sizw in that time.

  • @thinkbigize You see, most people/countries in the modern world use Celsius as a scale for measuring temperature, because it's a far more logical system than the outdated Fahrenheit scale. 0 degrees C = freezing point of water; 100 degrees C = boiling point of water. It's absurd that people even consider using the F scale anymore.

  • @NASCreations Thanks for the lesson. But you see, there is at least one notable, very large country in the modern world that uses the Fahrenheit system.

  • Sir at 7:34 you had flip us off with your middle finger. That is not apreciated.

  • Thanks so much for the video... I made it today for Sunday dinner and the chicken was just as tender as you said it would be. Both my husband and daughter loved it. :)

  • yeppe im the number 100 to like this video

  • 2:14 CUT THAT NAILS! YUCK

  • 5:08 food porn oiling =D

  • What you could also do is grab a spoon and put it through that small gap where the skin meets the breast, then just grate some lemon zest mix it in with at least a table spoon on butter, then with the gaps you've made between the skin nd breast, stuff some thin slices of lemon if you want and some bay leaves inside, then finally stuff your butter and lemon zest mixture in the gap between the skin nd breast, I promise you will get an awesome flavour from the breast.

  • @guns1312 Oh God! That sounds so good right now!! I can't wait to try that either. I'm assuming the butter would really moisten the chicken. Can i add some black pepper and garlic too? Would that attack the senses?

Thank you so much! That sounds great!!! :D

  • @Desi4evah well Im not sure bout the garlic but sure go ahead ''experiment'', thats how ice cream or beer or chocolate cakes were invented ppl experimented with food

  • Tip to everyone, don't buy that boneless crap for you Christmas dinner, you won't get the full flavour from the bones

  • Thank you Nicko. I am intrigued, what accent do you have? How would you categorize it?

  • @Desi4evah Australian =)

  • @guns1312 Thank you. :)

  • holy shit man 10 to 12 dollars for a whole chicken your gettin robbed

  • fuck advertisements

  • hi! do i need to cover it before i out it in the oven or it's not necessary at all? thanks!

  • Your the beat man....great vids

  • Hey, Nicko, you forgot the sumac!

  • the chicken looks small well no goin wrong with a what u call "a chef"

  • what does the potato for? it adds the taste? i think its not.. a waste of money..

  • 7:30 he subtlely gives the finger...LOL

  • sdggh

  • Too many spices. The simpler the better in my opinion. Take your fresh herbs and after heavily seasoning the cavity shove a heavy handful of herbs in the cavity. Rub the outside with canola oil and under the skin you can massage in butter that has been whipped with salt, pepper and more herbs. Make sure your oven is set to 450, and roast for 45 minutes or until the temperature of the thigh reaches 150 degrees. Allow the bird to rest out of the pan on a board covered for 15-20 minutes.

  • Is that 220 C or F I'm a Brit and we use C, but I am now living in the USA where they use F, I have no idea what you aussies use, please help.

  • @crushed51

    c

  • Hey Nicko!! your awesome thank you for doing all these video they really really help me a lot!! I wanted to ask you if you could make shrimp Alfredo for me?? Thank You!!

  • I am an Australian living in kazakhstan at the moment... there are virtually NO herbs and spices available here. I managed to find some ginger the other day. The chances though of finding paprika or chicken seasoning.... slim at best :(

  • there's something about salt and roasted potatoes :D

  • I´m in love with you!! ;)

  • Wow Nicko. This is beautiful! Your wife is so lucky! And excuse me but you are gorgeous and I love your accent. ;)))))))))))))))

  • ur chicken is to much expensive for about 10 dollars , i bought a chicken for 3.50 dollars

  • @alihassan2011. In Australia EVERYTHING is expensive even the chickens!

  • u didn't tell us yet how many degrees u turned the grill on?!

  • To clarify: 220 degree celsius is around 420 in fahrenheit. He uses celsius in the video, I think.

  • looks yumm=]..but u could add the spices like mixx all those into a low fat youghart and brush it on top of that yum chicken,..would taste yummah!

  • i like to put some white wine, its very nice..

  • Aussie , Aussie , Aussie! Cook , Cook , Cook!

    Keep on producing GREAT reicipies!!

    And Aussies are great!

  • what i usually do is put a film of foil paper on the top! just layer it on the chicken dont mold it to the chicken! WHAALLAA

  • Do you cover the pan with anything when you put it in the oven?

  • you can put some foil over the top :)
