  • Because I watched this it obviously makes me an expert.

I think it was the flux capacitor...

  • good vid this

  • looks like a 250r engine would be better with its 6 speed gear box ,, and i think its also a overdrive in 6th

  • u where doin well to catch and overtake drivers!

  • aww, man - that sucks. good run up until the siezure, though. hopefully you've gotten her back up and running since you posted this.

  • That sucks, they even laid the soak up down for him but he missed it... Joking, That looks like sooo much fun, I used to kart a bit but I never had the priviledge of driving a sweet ride like this. Thanks for posting, Looks as though you were passing everything in sight until the engine gave up. Nice run!

  • Mario Karts

  • Beautiful engine sound and nice camera angle!!

Keep uploading ur races buddy :-)

    Regards from Indonesia!

  • you can hear the engine starting to go tight off turn two.

  • If you watch the right front tire towards the end of the really long straight away you can see that it actually looks round along the surface.

  • You pulled in the clutch before it locked up, how can you tell?

  • There's a distinct lack of items and shells on the track, not fair!

  • What RPM are these engines topping out at?

  • @Frostman182 about 17,000/18000 rpm

  • carbs seem a bit out of balance!

  • man those carts fly looks like a blast thanks for posting

  • it running on the low jet throttles closed think you could have jetted to avoid that?

  • fast ass gokart and i like the carburators open and closing and half opening

  • it's really awesome you can look in the carburators!!!

  • atleast put screens over the carbs for added insurance...

I bet you run screens now, If you notice in the vid you go over mild sand at low speed kicking up debree...

  • Bro I know how this is I just had this happen twice on my dirtbike.

  • well you were running strong until then

  • no airfilter are you dumb?

  • I bet the first 6 and a half minutes of racing was worth it! I would love to do that once, sorry about the engine but i hate 2 strokes.

  • It's youtube you will always get some internet experts commenting. Fuck em. Sorry to hear about you motor.

  • 250 km/t

  • Whats the top speed on one of these?

  • I know the feeling...

  • no airfilter....

  • im pretty mechanically inclined, ive done plenty of work on cars, still do. I understand how fuel injection works 100%, but what i have yet to figure out is what the little slide thing on these type of small engine carbs is for, i know theres a throttle plate after the slide, but the part you see in this video in the carb that moves up and down. If that like a sort of fuel metering device? So as more air moves through the carb, it opens the jet up more or something?

  • @SaGalv - Could it be a roller barrel throttle rather than a slide?

  • @Genetics7 i figured out what it is, its the main jet (atleast im pretty sure anyway) and that piece moving up and down is how it puts the right amount of fuel in according to how much air is flowing through the carb.

  • @SaGalv Yes, not all uses thottle plates, or well, some are flat, some are round, square anyhow, that goes up and down cous of that "plate" there is a needle in that controls the fuel vs air, so when plate goes up, the needle goes up, making more fuel beeing able to flow to match the air opening of the throttle plate. The needle is thinner in the end furthest down, and gets thicker upwards,

  • nice bit of footage, at least you got the clutch in. is ter a masiive difference between the twin cyl. and the single????

  • Just so all You geniuses know the ring seized on the bottom cylinder which has nothing to do with running no air filters or anything stupid like that. It seized because honda changed the design of their pistons around two years ago. Maybe you guys should do some research befor you comment on things that you dont know about.

  • @NECracing i never run air filters on my blaster....what caused it to sieze up?...what motor is this...i understand its a 250 honda

  • @NECracing ok but why are u riding without air filters anyway? My TM 125 happend the same few months back :(

  • bad driver

  • Learn't his lesson the expensive way, Always Run filters! 0.7 odd kw aint gonna win you a race, but seizing a motor can certainly lose one.

  • Nasty! Those twin cylinder engines are expensive!

  • I just noticed you have a Stockman Kart, i used to race against him in the early 1990's out at Amaroo....he was the man to beat back in those days. I was flagging at Amaroo one time and 2 dogs jumped the fence and ran onto the track infront of him...i had to black flag the race, im sure he would remember that day.

  • why didn't he have any air filters on it it probably sucked something in it

  • @p13ie

Im guessing the engine is from an RS 250, i race an RS125 and we never run an air filter. Dyno testing showed a loss of 1hp when using an air-filter.

    Excellent footage.

  • how did you know was seized?cause i didnt hear a strange sound, i think u felt a drop of power/rpm in th emiddle range of power and u knew it wasabout to seize ;am i right?

  • Whats that sitting right next to the guy?

  • the engine, you are seeing the slides go up and down and the fuel mixture of the carbs.

  • engine & carbs

  • nice draft at 5:48! sorry about the engine.

  • @FUTHISS

    These cars don't draft LOL

  • yeah they do

  • there is some mistake in the carb.

the left carb is not sync with righ carb

  • @CarlyleRyden the left carb opens slower because the right one opens for low rpms and when the motor begins to hit its max the left one opens up

  • Thats what its like for most twin-carb engines but for this particular one each carb is connected straight onto each cylinder as the 250 international superkarts are twin cylinder

  • Sorry the engine blew, it's just the cost of doing business with a high rpm 2 stroke motor. Sweet running kart though! I love hearing the sound of the motor winding up to full power.

  • my god this was so fast, so much more frightening than every formula 1 race i've ever seen, this was real hardcore, sorry for the engine man.

  • you guys are all dumb asses!! he has it jetted to run without airfilters, cant you see the velocity stacks!!!

  • rofl at the front tyres changing shape when going full speed @ the straight xD

  • The engine siezed because the carburators are uncovered, at the speeds these karts race there is so much air tubulence that you can litterally see the fuel being sucked out of the carbs. it simply leaned out

  • Almost all gearbox superkarts run without filters, this is normal. The fuel is not being sucked out by "turbulence" it is being blown back by the pulses from the crankcase - being 2-strokes the fuel mixture is compressed in the crankcase before passing to the cylinder for combustion. Nipping up pistons is an occupational hazard when you are getting almost 400 bhp per litre capacity.

  • yep, and as i suspected the engine seized as he was off throttle. The fuel provides the two stroke engines with their required oil.

When you cut off the fuel you cut off the oil as well. Now closing the fuel/oil mix on a motor running that high on rpm's is really hard on the internals.

From what i saw/heard when the cart was running WOT it did not have any problem, so yea i cant say that the open carbs where the fault on this seizure.

  • The only thing i can think of for overcoming this sort of problem is lifting the carb needle up a bit. But anyway, im sure those guys already have the remedy for that problem.

  • @anothercbrowner

Thats not correct. The engine started loosing power around 6:32-33 then it finally locked up. His plates were still open at that time (plus sound delay too) Your explanation for this seize has some logic in it, but it is wrong. Even when the carb is "closed" it is still getting fuel, and oil. If that was the case, there would be a LOT of dead engines out there, mine included...

  • @avmaviator and whats your theory then...? and it sure takes fuel and oil but at way reduced quantities... Thats why when they set up the carbs according to the person driving it.

Yours would end up like that probably if you revved it like him and kept downshifting trying to be constantly in the power band but i have a strong feeling that you are caring more for your motor, not ragging it constantly...

  • Oh and the engine didnt produce power @ 6:27 and forth, as he opened it up,he saw that it wasnt pulling at all and so he whent on the side and closed the throttle again.

Offcourse if we dont hear out from NEC racing on what actually happened all we can do is speculate.

  • Did it sieze up because of running no air filter or running too lean?

  • is it normal for superkarts to run with no airfilter ?

  • no airfilter? wtf why?

  • Its probably rebuild after every few races if not every race

  • 7:00 of pure whupass

  • if only I could get my 50cc moped to rev that high... lol

  • Turn 8 under the bridge can be taken flat..........if your running a well set-up stockman or a PVP.

  • priceless...lol

  • man i love the exposed air intakes on the carb. i remember how cool even my rotax kart would sound with the airbox off. this must sound insane. i've always wanted 2 get into one of these.i'm driving fbmw now though, good stuff.

  • Nice ownage.

  • ahahaahahaha.. niece

  • looool

  • Looks fun. I noticed that you used the engine to slow you down, forcing the engine to maintin high rev's with a closed throttle on a 2-stroke that is not oil injected is something that is unhealthy for 2-stroke engines since the the oil which is in the fuel is what lubricates the engine is not flowing enough to lubricate the engine while throttle is shut and engine is at high rev's. Just thought I'd mention that.

  • uumm dude, a two stroke will suck more fuel in while the throttle is closed at high rpm's, it's called "choking",ever wondered why a two stroke blow's smoke when you rev it after it has been idling for a while,it has been sucking more fuel than it need's, i have been racing kart's for over 25 year's, i know what im talking about, you obviously don't.

  • good point...i was trying to figure out what he meant by "oil injected"......

  • i was thinking about how pointless racing is as those things go equally fast anyway, but for some reason that guy let you whip past. disappointed! I expected you to wipe out, you must have som failsafe in there.

  • do you realize that he seized the engine? you probably don't know what that means.

  • Of course I do, that is now what I am talking about. I am talking about his driving abilities overall.

  • thats pretty kool how you can see some engine combustion in there that sucks that you engine seized

  • no air filter is just asking for trouble

  • for sure bud

  • Sorry my previous comment didn't read quite right. I ment its not being driven that well. I know you can drive superkarts much harder than that.

  • Its a shame the motor seized. The footage is good, but its being driven that well. Its that fast at all. You can push a superkart much harder than that. I know you can.

  • Wow those things are fast...Great footage man...Love those dual carbs. Should have had air breathers though..sorry that the motor seized...totally sucks

  • Bass rocks!!

It's scary just watching it - great footage.

Yep those carbies add to the effect.

Keep up the good work guys

  • Great footage, shame about the dnf. You guys are hardcore racers. All respect to you. I think Superkarts are the heaviest form of racing. Even more so then F1's. Cheers mate. Keep posting as it gives us normal humans a buzz ;)

  • Great onboard footage!! love watching those carbies opening up!
