Formula One Racing DID take to lives sind 1994, only they were no drivers. Paolo Ghislimberti (Monza 2000) and Graham Beveridge (Melbourne 2001), they had been track mashalls who got hit by flying wheels.
you're wrong, there have been two deaths in formula 1 since 1994. in 2000 a marshal was killed by a tire which hit him at his head and another one died one year later
R.I.P to all of those perished and I hope no one else dies in any form of motor sport and the sad factor is the first season where a driver hasn't been killed was 1976
@themasterofphil senna ist in der tamburello in die betonmauer eingeschlagen! ratzenberger eine kurve weiter! und das "drauf gegangen" kannste dir sparen!!!
Since 1994, no DRIVERS lost their lives. What about Paolo Ghislimberti, the track marshall in Monza 2001? What about the guy who was killed by Jacques Villeneuve's wheel in Australia 2001?
The only way for a modern formula 1 driver to be killed is to be close lined at the head by a steel post or something. Everything that used to kill F1 drivers, the FIA has taken extreme efforts to perfect the safety of the car and now as of 2011 they are the safest race cars.
Even though there is much better safety in F1 now drivers can still die, Schumacher could of died last year at Abu Dhabi if Liuzzi's tyre hit his head, his tyre instead rested next to Schumacher thankfully, RIP to all those brave drivers "/
@kostasKRATOS are you fucking retarded? it has been 17 years since any one has died in f1. Massa was the closes person to it in 2009 after almost being killed by a flying spring which almost ripped his head off but luckily he survived. the last death was in 1994 aryton senna.
@kostasKRATOS the last fatal f1 crash was senna in imola in 1994. that's when it was realised that something needed to be done about the safety of the cars in f1
@kostasKRATOS no he don't! he had a very bad accident in rallye this year, but he's still alive and i think he will come back to formula one next year!
Good on you jack Taylor for making a very appreciated and appropriate video for all of our lost F1 drivers and good on you for not forgetting a single one of them they will all never be forgotten R.I.P
i'm worried about the saftey nowadays .. not so much in F1 but in motorsports.. and look Glock crash Suzuka 2 years ago and today's Perez were hurt in "soft crashs" so i think its kinda luck to be hurt or not ..
This may seem cruel and obtuse, but so is death and that's what this is about. Senna had just a tenth of a second to perform his last correction. You have all the time in the world to verify these facts which are not dynamic; this is why you should leave the facts to the museums that are dedicated in acknowledging these men and their accomplishments. And simply trying was not sufficient for these drivers, winning was the objective so you don't really honor them by making such fallacies.

I forgot to write this in my comment. if i knew anything about making videos i would make something like this too, but i don't, so i have a lot of respect for passionate people like yourself
@skynet091287 Ah OK. It is a shame when people forget the lesser modern racing drivers who have been killed and the stewards, marshals, firefighters etc who have been killed.
@Austria4ever1000 If you read my other comments, i told two other people that the things i meantioned was just the few i remembered when writing my original comment. I know about every single death in F1 in great detail, since racing safety is a passion of mine, it came after a terrible crash i witnessed during a rally in 1996. I wrote in my later comment that i meant that no DRIVERS had been killed during a GP weekend since Senna in 94, but i forgot to add it to my original comment.
what is with the austrian driver jochen rindt (died in the training in monza 1970) who was won the champion chip after his death why aren t their pictures
Afterall - thanks to MSC and his terribe experience during that fatal 1994 year, his wor for safety You can now see HANS and other saving lives systems on F1 tracks. Thanks to Roland and Ayrton. They're will be part of my life till I die.
As beautiful as this was, I am disappointed by you stating that no-one in F1 has died since 1994. I know the title says 'drivers', but the slide-show starts off by saying "F1 Tribute. Nicely put together video. Still to this makes me me think "Would all of the massive knee-jerk safety changes have happened if 'only' Ratzenberger' had died?" I hate to think of it in such cut and dried terms but relatively, Ratzenberger was a first year unknown in a brand new, back of the grid team. If it had just been him then would we have had the plank on the car floor, grooved tryes, every single track in the calendar being utterly ruined with a million and one extra chicanes etc. etc.
Fucking Pilots what the fuck you doing? You see a car burn a really strong crash and you don't stop to help/how is your Friend? For me isn't important a fucking race i want the life of a pilot of a my Friend Money don't make me happy. Thumbs up if you think same :) RIP To all Pilots doing this things :D Better die like they... Doing a thing they like and be remembered :) P.S. I prefer Engine sounds of Evanescence doesn't stay with F1. You should put something other on Gilles :/ Leggend of F1
@RedhotIta1 Simple reason. The passing drivers thought that Purley was the driver of the burning car and was just trying to save the car. Of course they were told later what happened, but what can do then? Nothing.
@Mawerick77 Drivers can do more of Marshalls if you see Roger Williamson accident there is a pilot Try to help is friend... They can help cuz Marshalls just use fire extinguer... A Drive can help his friend much time before the marshalls :/ i know you can't do much... but you Try to do :)
@RedhotIta1 That is exactly what I was talking about. The other drivers thought that David Purley (who was trying to get Williamson out) was actually the driver of that car, and that he was safe so there was no need to stop. They only found out the truth after the race.
Depailler and De Angelis, for sure, as for Bruce Mclaren, he should be in this, but he certainly didnt die in a F series car, or even open wheeler, he died in CanAm. Cant remember where right now, Goodwood I think.
@lethalnz thanks for the comment, yeh its not easy remmembering all of the drivers, but id like to think that i got the message accros that all f1 drivers that died should be remmembered, i dont like showing clips of the crashes that killed these drivers, i do have some clips and i can get clips, but to respect the drivers i thought a video like this would be more suitable.
There HAVE been deaths in F1 since Senna. Not drivers, but Marshalls who are still an integural part of F1 and do what they do on a voulntray basis. I think the last one was in Imola, where, after an accident on the first lap, a wheel came loose and found itself on the wrong side off the safety railing. It had hit a Marshall in the chest. It was this accident that promoted the introduction of teathers on the wheels. Can't remember the year. Will try to find out.
@daddyosprey That's just what I wanted to say! It was a tire from Rubens Barrichello's car. The tire hit a marschall on his head cousing death. I think it was Melbourne 2003.
on this days we lost great drivers and great persons

This may seem cruel and obtuse, but so is death and that's what this is about. Senna had just a tenth of a second to perform his last correction. You have all the time in the world to verify these facts which are not dynamic; this is why you should leave the facts to the museums that are dedicated in acknowledging these men and their accomplishments. And simply trying was not sufficient for these drivers, winning was the objective so you don't really honor them by making such fallacies.
