ICS is great but the Galaxy Nexus hardware is a joke. The fact is if I would have went with the Nexus I would have had to downgrade my hardware to do so. Both the Motorola DROID RAZR and HTC REZOUND blow away the GN in hardware specs now this may be okay with some people but not with me. The Nexus might be the most over rated device yet this year.
Good Vid.. But I went and checked out this phone in person today and other than ICS, it has nothing that stands out. Non-removable storage, no shortcut key, headphone jack at the bottom instead of the top, the screen might as well be 4.3" because the home keys take up that same space as if it had hard home keys. Face recognition can be opened with a photo of the owner. The OS is what makes the phone superior, once the other Phones get ICS, the GN will be an after thought..
@jmsq45 They put the headphone jack at the bottom to make it easier to slide into your pocket while listening to music etc. At 32GB does it really need removable storage? The internal storage actually has some fancy stuff going on with how the phone sees it. It has nothing that stands out? 1280x720 resolution doesn't stand out? Also, you dont have to deal with Samsung's ugly TouchWiz UI. Theres hardly anything to not like about this phone.
@dabug91 To each his own.. I like the idea of being able to add my own storage. Yes, majority of the phones out can support 32gb, so thats the biggest u can go. But the convenience of being able to add and remove my own works better for me. What fancy things does it do with the storage? The resolution is good, I have 20/15 vision, but to be honest it didnt jump out at me. 5MP cam on back? yea its 1080, but why not 8MP? Headphone jack @ the bottom is a preference, but I dislike it.
@jmsq45 For how it handles the storage, do a google search for the reddit post about how the Galaxy Nexus doesn't support USB mass storage, it uses something called MTP instead.
@dabug91 After seeing it yesterday and not falling in love with it. I think other devices will be comparable after receiving ICS. I've personally been looking at the Droid Bionic in comparison to the Galaxy Nexus, and it works better for me. Yet is has no shortcut key either. I guess you can't please everyone all the time..
@Clear2engage For Android 4.0, 4G LTE, 32GB of storage, removable battery, no Touchwiz UI, the awesome new camera features, NFC, 1280x720 SAMOLED display, vs a 32GB iPhone 4Shit at the same price? Please, find me a phone with all these features for $200. Besides, depending on where you buy this phone, you can get it for $150-$250.
@Clear2engage There is not a substantial difference between 8MP(3264x1952) and 5MP(2592x1552). Also, Touchwiz sucks and looks disgustingly too much like the iPhone, and Verizon's 4G LTE network is larger and way ahead of AT&T's, not to mention AT&T's shitty customer service. And a better screen is more important than a slightly larger MP camera.
