You don't realise how much time it does spend in the red till you watch this, it's all done on feel for the power when you're out there! Though the redline is for the lowly tuned standard motor. They don't need rebuilds that often if they're screwed together properly believe it or not...

This vis is not actually me, Wakey is my mate, I simply stuck MY camera on his bike!! ;-)

I asked the same question myself though, supposedly its not uncommon they go a whole season without a rebuild!! ... I can't see them lasting forever mind as it seems to spend most of its life deep in the red-band!! :-D
