  • Thanks so much! i recently broke my 4th metacarpal (boxers fracture) from being an idiot and punching the wrestling mat with the bottom 2 knuckles on accident, and i'm going to need to wrap my hands once i ease back into training, Your video really helped! nice tattoos btw.i dig it.

  • @Iliketokickthings24 Thanks for watching. I would also suggesting taping your wrist with athletic tape before wrapping your hands for extra support! :)

  • whats a good age to start mui tai boxing, im 15, 5foot5 so kinda small and a black belt in karate nearly 2nd dan

  • @PROJECT939 any age is great to start practicing Muay Thai - in Thailand little kids start very young. Look for a good young adult program in your area :)

  • o my god im from mèxico i love this girlll!!!!

  • do you fight in MMA also or just MT?

  • @themeaningoflife38 I was a pro Muay Thai fighter, I'm now retired and just focus on teaching. I have trained in MMA though - but prefer striking. Thanks for watching my videos :)

  • Roxyfit, it seems you are good at responding, I have been asking all over to no avail. I have a reflex bag (ever last) I use it for cardio. My knuckles are splitting using the ever gel gloves, so I was thinking I should wrap my hands then get some training boxing gloves (16 - 18oz) is this about what I need to do? I know I need to order the wraps, I checked sports authority and they did not have anything. Any tips will help, thanks!

  • @merc45 Yes get some hand wraps and a good pair of gloves, you don't need 16-18 oz those are usually used for sparring only, you arms will get very tired in a bag workout and you won't hold them up as well with really heavy gloves. Try a 10-12 ox pair, just make sure they are good quality, expect to pay $90-100 for a quality bag glove. Use extra gauze over the knuckles under the wrap for extra padding while your hands heal from any injuries.

  • @merc45 p.s try Revgear.com for gloves and wraps. you'll never find any good gear at sports authority.

  • @roxyfit Thank you very much. I ordered the wraps and a set of 18oz gloves already (oops) I was using 16oz gel gloves. My work out consists of the reflex bag, then doing some other cardio activities so I might be ok with 18oz, I figure if I can force myself to hold up those heavy gloves the better off ill be and I will get more calories burned up. Waiting for the wraps and gloves so I can get back to working out at night. Thank you again for the information!

  • Bella guida, forse la prima che riesco a capire.. tutto dire.. le donne sono avanti anche nel saper spiegare come fasciarsi le mani in modo corretto.. diciamo che le donne sono avanti in tutto..!! ;P

  • You correctly take the wrap thru the fingers to outside of the index finger. For muaythai, you must have unobstructed open palm, for clinching. I also like the loop or ribbon over the knuckle for extra protection without bunching up the palm pad. The presenter has a very friendly voice and attitude.

  • me encantaron los tatuajes =)

  • Roxy, what are you doing for the next, say....rest of your life?

  • What size where the wraps again? That's a sick sleeve tattoo

  • @jamrockshamrock Thanks, these are 180" elastic style wraps :)

  • Hey man i need help, i have elastic 180s, and when ever i wrap my hands, its still feels like my wrist has no support, and when i wrap tight enough for my wrists to be supported, my fingers turn purple. Do you have any tips?

  • @michael55443332211 try buying some athletic tape, use a bit to support the wrist and then wrap your hands - that's what i always do anyway, since I like extra wrist support.

  • cute girl...good video :]

  • Hi! What kind of Mats are those in your video? Are they good with Muay Thai?

    Thanks!

  • @Fivesenzes those are zebra mats (1 inch combo mats) - I'm actually selling them. if you are near LA and want to buy 500 square feet of really good condition mats. They are perfect for Muay Thai! I bought new ones when I opened a gym and added Jiu JItsu classes.

  • I'd love to spar with you one time :)

  • nice vid, thanks

  • You are sexy, I always wanted a g/f to spar with!

  • @roxyfit thank you i have been doing muay thai for about 1 1/2 years now and i still havnt perfected wraping untill this video i like this way of wrap because it feels so much more confier ....westsidekickboxing occonor perth w.a

  • I like this wrap... def need some practice with the knuckle padding.

Question... it feels a little thick inside my closed hand when I make a fist. Is this normal?

    Thanks!

  • @imwaltk Make sure that you have made the padding on top of your knuckles and not just wrapped around the knuckles several times, which would make the wrap thick on the palm. if you have small hands it's a little tricky with any method. I recommend finding a wrap that is thinner in width, but still the same length. (180)

  • @roxyfit Thanks! I actually have pretty big hands. Maybe I just pulled it too tight so now it's hard to close my hand. I feel like I'm getting a forearm workout just making a fist LOL. I'll have to experiment some more!

  • @imwaltk make sure to spread your fingers REALLY wide when making the wraps around the palm, that will help.

  • goooodddddddd

  • Well, after watching other videos by you I must say I am impressed! I would love to study with you and take other classes in your gym :) ... but sadly I don't live in LA :(

  • Awesome! :) I have seen multiple hand wrapping tutorial videos and what interests me about this vid is using the wrap to make a few ribbon-like folds for extra padding. I have never seen that anywhere

  • Could you fit gloves over your hands using this style of hand wrapping?

  • @staticbuzz1 you sure can! :)

  • Are these the cotton or elasticated wraps?

  • @nomax345 - these are elasic, imo a much better fit

  • Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I was having such problems with the hand wraps and other videos on youtube weren't as... well, as good. You give very clear instruction, thank you! I have my first REAL Muay Thai class tonight (had my first on Friday actually, but we just went over the moves, now I get to be with the rest of the class), wish me luck!

  • Great wrap and this girl is so ridiculously cute! Think my wife will like this wrap better than the one I showed her cause it has more knuckle padding...

  • Anybody else find the wraps akward in your hands? :(

  • You're a beast btw, hope I can get to your level some day =D

  • @LegoMyGeggo Thanks :)

  • @roxyfit Do you still work with Mark and Joe?

  • @LegoMyGeggo Yup - when I can - not training for a fight right now - I'm very busy opening up a new gym of my own :)

  • @roxyfit That is awesome! Where is your gym at? Would definitely like to check it out when I visit LA.

  • @LegoMyGeggo Function 5 Fitness at 805 S. La Brea Ave. 90036

  • Hey, I used to see you at The Yard when I was in LA, cool beans =D.

  • nice ass roxy balboa xD ;)

  • dang love tattoos

  • wowo your pretty :) and were do u do muay thai cause i'd llike to learn now :)

  • nice vid! and i can tell you have strong shoulders ! people who say you are out of shape are f***n dumb! keep up the good athelete spirit!

  • this doesnt have to do with the wrapping technique but how is she a finess instructor? Like seriously, shes not even fit. i think its retarded when you see out of shape trainers. How can you take them seriously.

  • @uhhdunnok - i think you need to check yourself, dude. I am not only a personal trainer but a professional athlete. If I'm not fit who is??

  • @roxyfit - Now a days being fit is just not being overweight. So props to being fit ;-) To other people it means differently.

  • @OvertureX22 My definition of fitness is performance and health. I can sprint fast (1:24 400 m), lift heavy (225lb deadlift /120lb c&j), and spar several rounds of muay thai without getting tired. My diet is excellent, i sleep well, I'm really happy and have great energy. That is fitness... not some version of a juiced up muscle shark. lol

COME to Thailand … I will send you INFO. ;-)

  • Thanks for the tips, u are hot bytheway!!!

  • thanks for the guide :D

  • Revgear!!! i love their shit! Right on! lol :P

  • Thank you for the video it's the best tutorial I've seen yet

  • I must have ham hands, I had a lot less wrap left than you did! -embarrassed- my knuckles feel a lot more padded with this method.

  • @PizzaRat make sure you have the 180" elastic (mexican) hand wraps to ensure you have enough wrap for this method.

  • You have beautiful hands + fingers! I do not even have the faintest idea on boxing, but I do play the piano :-)

  • this method requires 180" wraps. if you have 120" wraps you will need a knuckle pad to properly wrap your hands.

  • Thank you! Finally, good clear instructions! : D

  • where can i get those handwraps?

  • Revgear sells them on their Website

  • I like your tatoos:-)

One thing: you are showing a method for competition(where I prefer gaze and lots of tape). In Training in my opinion you should have more support for your middlehand by going tight around the knuckles. but thats just a proposal. Keep on fighting. Regards Rick

  • like i said in the video every one has different methods. this is just my preferred method of wrapping. if you like a way better then that's the way for you.,

  • great tutorial thanks

  • thankyou the only person on the net that can explain this 2 dummies like myself

  • Word. Finally someone explains it clearly!
